Heat spreaders, more like Chip covers(hide the chips?) :p
I wounder what their intention was realy ....
ok, i finally got my 2x512mb Twinmos DC kit, not the SP! :) (they were EXTREMELY expensive... 170€ yeah, things are a bit expensive here at Portugal)
i was going to take some pics of the sticks (and i probably will) but i think most of you are already bored of the same old pics, so... lest go forward! :D
Chips: | PCB:
04504 | KO-6633
TMD...50D |
at first i had some problems at 2-2-2 (using a 1T BIOS... with 2T BIOS there was no problem at all)... till i remebered to increase vdimm to atleast 3v... and then magic happened!
at 3.05v i raised from 200mhz @ 2-2-2 till 240mhz @ 2-2-2 (that's what i call a good scaleting! :slobber: )
i probably would go much higher but my board got stuck at 244mhz... so i will have to wait for my A64 to really use the full potencial of this magic sticks. (anyone wants to sponsor? :P: )
http://pwp.netcabo.pt/0441876901/twinmos.jpg
Nice results, I think everyone here wants a sponsor though :p:
what should i do, get mushkin pc3500 2-3-3 ch-5, or should i gamble on some 2x512MB twinmos SP?
i'm going to be placing the order today, oh well i don't think newegg is in stock on SP 512MB modules, so i wold have to wait on that anyways.
screw the ch-5 i'll just wait for this. oh, newegg just got vx in stock, 250 for 1Gb of it.
whaaa 1t with 2x512 and only 3v on amd?
is that an nforce2?
enok,
is that 240 @ 3.05v 1T or 3.05v 2T?
It is very impressive either way... my NF7 rarely completed SuperPI 1MB at that speed with 1T... congrats :toast:
Same here enok ... they are burning in on my NF7-S with memtest at 220 FSB 2-2-2-11 at 2.9 Vdim BIOS (3.05 actual). I dont think I cant either go higher on this board cause my stupid northbridge has issues above 220 FSB with any stick :(
Mine are 4514 instead of 4504 ... all the other indicatives are the same ...
Keep up the good work everyone :toast:

It's 5:14am here in Greece and in 4 hours I'll be hitting the shop again to buy another 2X512 ... (and thats it! - I'm broke for the month now!)
I can go to the store and buy some AA4T like the one's esdee showed on the first page ... other than that I dont know how well they will perform ...
Send me a pm if your interested ... ;)
you know what we all need? for twinmos to have a twinmos direct, like mushkin. They would probably advertise their chips correctly.
Alonso, are you taking notes (see prior post :) )?
thanks to Enok I just orders myself another stick of 512MB :D
Not DC though because they cost 20€ more(160€ total) and because I don't have it on my board anyways =)
lol So this will gimme 1GB of twinmos memory with a cost of 140€ =)
BTW tictac, could you mind looking into something for me?
at the mo I'm using Uberbios v 1006 on my Asus A7n8X-X and my Vdimm's max is 2.9
Is there any way you could "adjust" the bios so I can se say 3.0 or 3.1 volts? :)
Do we know any more about the Kingston ram yet ?
KVR333X64C25/512 <-- thats a 512mb pc2700 code, does anyone know what they mean ?
KVR400X64C3A/512 <-- since that is a pc3200 module im guessing this wont help us at all
Only the X64 bit or the A may leave a clue ....
DIDN'T the a in the hyper-x mean ch5 ?
Thanks
140€? and i paid 170€... what a robery... :(
i have an question to Alonso :P: , SP pcb is from BP (most of them atleast) and the usual DC kit has a pcb from... ? it has 6 layer's just like BP does (like u said before) but is it BP aswell? or is it something else? cause i really am surprised with my sticks, especially for a non-BP pcb.
i have just a little problem here... i keep getting an error on memtest #6, only 1 error.. maybe some burning would help right? but the thing about burning is that u should burn it at max fsb possible (especialy max fsb that sticks can handle, right?) in order to really help you instead of cutting your hability for rising a little more at that given voltage.
should i wait for another system (say A64) to really make a good burning at the supposed max fsb my sticks can handle? is that the best option?
@ Revv23 , yes it's. AN7 rev.1 (i think there is only one rev, lol) with nForce2 and 17de1T BIOS (thanks to enduracell and tictac :P )
@ Rabbi_NZ , 240mhz at 1T 1:1 2-2-2. :) but i have to say that this AN7 really overvolts, so the BIOS 3.05v is in fact almost 3.1v on MBM5. maybe that explains something.
either way i really feel that i could have scaleted even more at this voltage if it wasn't my board.
@ Daytime Dreamer , try given them at least 3v/3.1v at 1T. at that voltage you should raise from 200 to 240 @ 2-2-2 as i did.
@ Entity_Razer , np m8 :)
lol enok :)
If it turns out not to have those chips I'll just use them as normal value ram but cheaper (my "normal" brand is apacer which is 20euros PER BAR more then twinmos)
if they DO have those chips.....
well people won't see me leave my hous for a few days
First decent ram i'll ever have bought then (always wanted GOOD ram but never could afford it =) )
EDIT: OH boy, OOOOOOHHH BOY =)
I read your comment about your mobo overvolting well.... in Bios my Vcore is at 1.65 and IRL it's at 1.71 in MBM5
and Vdimm also ,when at 2.6 is almost at 2.7 =)
So instead of a max of 2.9Volt i'll have a max of about 3.0 =)
Sweet
dam I want that RAM badly =)
edit2:
if anyone has the same problem as enok meaning kosting a LOT, PM me if the costs for sending it aren't to high (for you , I aint paying it :p: ) and you trust me enough to wire me the money I'll buy it here and send it to you whereever you live :)
BTW hint to enok, if you buy stuff, try to purchase then in US dollars, 1 euro= 1.23dollars or more :)
so if someting costs like 100USD then we'll be able to get it for like 80 or lower euros
sweet hu?
i don´t think this will happen - we have branch offices all over the worldQuote:

BTW alonso, you work for twinmos, right?
what department?
maybe you can "tip us off" concerning what chips those are or for which numbers we shoudl look out (meaning before week... they have them/they don't, and for after week.... vice versa
or is this unknown for you? (would be a shame though :) )
I've fired an e-mail off to a local shop that stocks Twinmos. I'd go and have a look myself, but I'm on my own today :(. If I do not hear anything, I'll check tomorrow.
working in Germany - responsible for European Technical Issues
no idea which modules sold to where - but i don´t get your question...
AA4T newest production (beginning late 2004) is the module (either TwinMOS/TwinMOS, TwinMOS/M.tec or TwinMOS Speed Premium) to look for - that is btw written in this thread many times...
Alonso,
Do you know how long Winbond UTT has been widely available, not just in TwinMOS or M.tec modules?
If I find Kingston modules with UTT looking chips and they are dated early 2004 (0417), is there any chance these are Winbond UTT or were they only available to module makers at a later date in 2004?
I've seen some M.tec chips with what appears to look like and test like (and coded like) UTT chips with dates as early as 0430(4) but was wondering if you are aware of TwinMOS or anyone else using them earlier than that in any of their modules?
I can assure you that this all is the real stuff.
All kits have week 52 chips so it´s really new stuff, straight from TwinMos.
:D
The Stilt, how much are you planning on selling them for?
I got another queston for those with 256 stick speed premium...
1. Are they BP pcb or just something similar?
2. Are all the 256mb stick single sided ( chips on one side of stick only)
Good question!Quote:

So what is the deal with the 512s from newegg?
OK Update time :banana4:
Just found these. For UK/EU ppl realy, at www.tekheads.co.uk.http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=603911 I have had a word with the powers that be and convinced them to list the codes of any AA4 they get ;) , currently They have stock of PC3200/256 as the following.
http://www.ricco.karoo.net/images/mem/AA4TD50_1.jpg
http://www.ricco.karoo.net/images/mem/AA4TD50_2.jpg
They also have some PC2700 D60 as I had previous.
http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=601584
This is current stock , they had nothing else that even looked like the stuff we want.
My conclusion so far then:
D60 AA4T - PC2700 , good for 240ish @ around 3.4-3.6v Good
D50 AA4T - PC3200 , good for 250/260 @ 3.4 -3.6v Better
D44 AA4T - Pc3200 , good for over 250 @ 3.4-3.6v Best
D44 on BP pcb is the mutts nuts then. Xtreme
This sound about right ?
(thanks to vassili for clarification of order)
