Just ordered an MR2 again :) its the least picky mobo i have ever had when it comes to ram with all other manufactures not fully supporting 4 sticks @ 1066 because of AMD CPU limitations but yet DFI pulled it off no problem & didn't even hype that point out .
It has best expansion layouts.
Hope the PII bios issue gets sorted soon.
Can PII work with older bios with out the Lan issue ?
I hope the reason why DFI has not bothered with a UT this round is because they are saving it for full AM3 DDR3.

I am not sold on 1066 runnings, I got better read, write and copy scores running pc6400 and tighter timings with the same modules.....
And, I assume that with DDR3 the latencies will be relaxed even more.....

I am wondering if my RAM is limiting my OCing potential... so im selling it. It was initially really good without an OC, but i have a funny feeling that it could be the root of some of the random rebooting issues. I have to underclock the ram a fair amount to get it stable.
Next Q, what Ram would people reccomend that doesnt cost an arm and a leg?

its the additional cpl chips cooler that covers the cpl chips as well (for t2r) without that one (i.e. without cpl chips cooling) its for the m2r. but you can mod the t2r plate to cool the m2r cpl chips as well, but the smaller nb pwm chip would then be left uncovered. the problem is, that the small chip for the nb pwm section is a little higher...

I cant see any reason why the EK-NB/SB 5 - Acetal will not fit unless there is a resistor in the way on the MR2. as http://shop.anfi-tec.de/ as the same custom blocks that span the intel & the MR2 versions on the SB.
But im going for the anfi-tec anyway as they look like they have put more engineering into the copper base & you apply pressure to the cooper base & not the Delryn top like on the EK.

But I decided not to since the stock cooling on a 790FXB-M2RSH with a TR HR-05 on it would do enough IMO. Some nice airflow over that sink and nothing more you could do.
@..Olli..........First Phenom II 940 BE had problems with HT Link Frequency beyond 1.8GHZ on UT 790FX-M2R would "Not Initiate Reboot Sequence" and would require pwer down and pull Plug from P.S.U for 10-15 seconds or need clear cmos:confused: But Sometimes it would work without issue up to 2.4 in Windows.
Now same exact Phenom II 940 BE on JR 790GX boots at HT Link Frequency @ 2.0ghz & 2.2ghz without issues!.....JR 790GX will only go up to 2.2ghz HT Link Frequency in Bios on 1/19/2009 Beta.
So as stated its a Bios Issue on UT 790FX-M2R and not related to that Processor.
Now I have tested 2 different Phenom II 940 BE on Both UT 790FX-M2R & DK JR 790GX and there is absolutely "NO" Difference in Overclockability with SB750 Chipset vs SB600 with Either Processor:yepp: The only thing I see different is that HDD Performance is not Gimped with Single Raptor as it was on SB600 UT 790FX-M2R also there is also general lower Board Latency overall with SB750 and YES AMD Overdrive works without issues even when manual Bios Overclock is applied. Not that I would overclock from AOD but its nice to be able to use the blasted program without it locking your system up and doing funny random crap to it!
did you try the same with a lowered cpu multi one notch? i only got that problem if something else was not just right, not because of the ht multi... did i get it right with the other chip that didnt happen again? strange..
the other things: nice to know... but do you have the impression that the sb750 runs "smoother" overall?

There are capacitors in the way for mounting the nb/sb 5 on the nb. Its just way too big to fit in there. I sent pictures with measurements to Gregor Hribernik at EK and he confirmed that it isn't compatible. although it could just be my board if there are multiple revisions, my ut 790fx is rev. A1Quote:
