Ye I'm mint.
DFI is where I'm happiest but every now & again I wander over to the competition normally because I cant wait for the DFI (too impatient)
Hope the x38 rocks for you.
My new board has this issue!!! damn it, was hoping for a smooth build. WTH is it? This is as far as I have gotten, because of it, I can not set a resonable NB voltage, all to high, or too low, nothing just right, lol.
Sorry bout the image size, just back up and running, need to re-install my photo software.

Guys,
I took the NB heatsink out to check and look what I saw!!!!!
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6oy3cb7&s=1
No contact at all!
What did you guys do with this stock HS? Lapped?
Tried to do it again and same results the Stock NB HS just wont make full contact!
Not enough pressure on those springs and uneven surface from the NB combined with the uneven surface of the HS = disaster for OCers.

I made a hardmount on mine, it makes good contact w/ pressure.
mine is ok i just card methoded it and did it on ihs since i didnt want to mess with hard mounting i pressed on it and works like glue with mx2 while u have a tension on it, and what past are u useing u should have mx2
Praz, I guess this pic says it all, damn, does DFI cross ship. Guess I am calling motherboardpro in the morning. FFS!!!

hm.. this makes me want to check purchase a DMM and check my board
where would i have to check to get the voltagae readings?
Ok so you are applying the MX2 directly on the HeatSink not on the NB right? Or on both?
And also is there a correct side to mount I was I always installed them with the LanParty name facing the CPU (if you look from the PSU side to the LP name it's not upside down).

Corrected. No. Nothing new here. Actually the only 2x2GB kits I have right now are the G.Skill PC2 8000. They run great on this board. And at $115.00 shipped with a guaranteed speed of 5-5-5/1000MHz nothing else comes close. In the next day or so I think I'll be able to post some screenshots of at 1100MHz or so.
i can't see how they could get away with not supporting e8500's etc lol , but who knows.
so ure mobo turned up yet uknown , could'nt help notice ure due date is today?
mine has'nt even been sent out yet , i hoped it might hav been today. maybe it will do later on. the money i sent over went out my account tuesday after all. i did email them to check what was up & they said it takes 2-4 days to get exchanged over :(
i hope i dont hav to do any major changes to my cooling loop to get my blocks mounted on . the mobo layout for cpu & NB placement looks the same as my icfx. i might even get away with just taking the blocks off my icfx with the liquid still in the loop, then just sliding out the icfx & replacing with the x38 :)
is anyone using the mcw-30 on the x38 yet? if so could u please tell me wether the inlet & outlet are horizontal when mounted or verticial. thanks
deadman's
hey just a quick question for you proud owners of the x38 t2r
Did the northbridge heatsink come uninstalled just like that review? Or do i have to take it off myself when i get my board...
Mine came uninstalled.
BTW, how common is the voltage problem? I got mine with the first wave of shipped boards and still haven't fired it up. I have my fingers crossed that it will work well.
