They do but only they only work on the retail cards and I have an OEM one where it doesn't do a thing.

Negative. The jumper is to up the voltage to 1.25 from 1.1V!

Been wading through this thread for an hour and just decided to post a direct question.
I'm doing the VMOD on my 8800GT but really don't know how to 'tune in' my potentiometer to it's highest ohm setting before installing/soldering.
Here's the potentiometer I've got; it's a NTE Electronics, 1k OHM, 20 Turn Potentiometer:

How Do I "TUNE" this Thing??
My multimeter is not digital, BTW ... so if a digital multimeter is somehow required to 'tune in' my VR, then I'll have to do a return a Fry's.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
I'm not going to solder this thing in until I know it's set up for it's minimum voltage output (max ohm).

Your measuring points are the outside posts. Make sure you have it on the Ohms setting on your MM.
Thanks. I just randomly chose a ohm setting on my MM and it is responding when I contact the outside posts.

Couple questions:
1. When 'tuning' the VR, and in upper left area of my multimeter dial, should I have it set to RX1k or RX10?
2. When contacting the outer posts, does it matter which (red or black) contact lead I use to touch either of the two outside posts? I seem to get the same reading no matter the combination but thought I'd ask.

Is there a chance to force Giga's GamerHUD to lift a vGPU above than 1.2v? Or to lift it to 1.2v by another software?
No, a hardmod is only way to do that...

Then I suggest that look back to the first page of this thread and do the hardmod with a variable resistor...
modding is pretty much the only way.. they use an extra chip on the board to select voltages that only this particular card uses.

So is the maximum resistance 0.512 or 000.1? I'm guessing 0.512. Well it actually goes between 0.511 and 0.515.
Hey guys, I have the Palit 1GB card. 3 phase, and same pcb as the Gainward at the top of page 40. I've been thru the whole thread, but can't seem to find an OCP mod for it. Does one exist for it? If so, anyone have pics?

Maximum resistance of a 500Ω VR is 500Ω, depending on the resistance measurement setting on a multimeter 500Ω can appear as "0.500" (0.5kΩ).

You mean this card? Is the square chip a RT8802A?
If it is RT8802A:
Measure resistance from pin#17 to ground, solder a VR 20× measured value from that pin to ground. Tune down to lower OCP trigger point.

i've club3d 8800gt 512hp with crappy cooler. So i want it to overclock, max stable core is 680mhz. Vpgu idle - 1,22v, load - 1,17 (Yes i'm writing right load is lower than idle...) Any mods applied, at all stock with so high voltages, but core only 680mhz... So i wanted to mod it but i can't find primarion chip :( Could you tell for is it possible to apply voltage mod this vga? Would it be the one I marked in blue, that leads to 0 Ohm "resistor"? It's hidden by the wire in his pic tho. My camera sucks horribly at Macro, but I'll try to find a better pic.

That's the pin. If resistance between that and ground is infact around zero - as the 0R SMR may imply - then the card has OCP disabled by design. Anyways, just measure R from either pole of the 0R SMR to ground. Btw, what exact symptoms does your card suffer from? Remember that OCP causes a crash only during load, OVP on the other hand trips as soon as the trigger voltage is exceeded - regardless of load.

The mod in the 1st post doesn't apply to your card because your card different chip that controls vGPU. That chip doesn't like tunable mods so I made you a quick mod that bumps you to a fixed vGPU of 1.475v (is that too much for you?):

Removing the SMR wouldn't work.
In order to push back the OCP trigger point you're going to have to solder a 20kΩ resistor (yup, not 20× the measured R, 4× is plenty for this purpose) between ground and any a pad directly connected to pin#17. The resistor doesn't have to be a VR. This would puch OCP trigger by 25%.
