That was one of the first things I looked at, and wasn`t the problem.

Asus.com download section.http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...E/P5KE1012.zip
more specific :P
The 1012 bios wanted to clock my RAM from 667 to 1111 or so. I had to manually change DRAM clock and FSB straps from auto to 333 and DDR2-667 to prevent the crazy overclock from occuring. Other than that, it seems stable, but I still need to run some tests.
Edit: 1012 is unstable for me.
My 1006 stable settings:
Load Line Calibration On
1.5 Bios Voltage (1.48 Idle --> 1.47 Load)
E2180@333FSB (DDR2-667 3-3-3-9-1N [Transaction Booster Level 3])
Voltage Observations: Voltage is stable at 1.48 and 1.47
1012 Observations
Load Line Calibration On
At 1.5 Bios Voltage, the idle and load voltage would continuously change ~+/- 0.01-0.02 volts. Only at 1.525 Volts would it maintain a steady 1.5V on idle, but OCCT would crash when it started the load.
I'm going back to 1006.
any 1012 experience ?
Seems ok for me. I noticed higher tRFC values in BIOS, with 1006 max was 60.
This is probably a longshot, but does anybody using an E6750 on this board have CPU temp reading issues? I get lower than usual temp readings with Core Temp and CPUID's HWMonitor (20C idle which is a few degrees cooler than room temp), and the BIOS is really low--like 11C. I know the Core Temp and HWMonitor readings are probably closer to what the actual temp is but I know it's still off by at least 10 degrees. Just wondering if this is a common issue of the E6750 on a P5K-E or it's just the E6750 in general giving wacky readings.
Hi guys,
I need some help.
I bought an Asus P5KE-wifi AP mobo and from the time I bougth I have been having problems.
I think I might have gotten a bad board or something. Even with default bios (no overclocking) It refuses to boot the next morning. I experience the black screen of death and upon 3 restarts or sometimes having to unplug the power cable and holding down the power switch for 5 seconds lets me in. I even swapped the Ram from my other computer to this one and still same issue. Do u guys think I am gonna have to RMA this thing? or would resetting the bios manually like through that battery taking out procedure help?

How is the new 1012 bios?
can someone recommend flashing to it?
From the readme of v1012:
I don't think I'll be upgrading, as none of the changes apply to my system.Quote:
P5K-E BIOS 1012
1. Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website at: http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx
2. Fix when using Conroe 3.0GHz CPU with FSB1333, the system cannot resume from S3.
3. Improve ATAPI CD-ROM's compatibility with EZ-Flash.
4. Fix the system is unable to enter S3 in Windows XP 64-bit OS.

Well you may consider the RMA, I initially had a e4300 on this board with
no problems on 1004 bios. Be for you do the RMA if you have a different PSU
laying around (even if its a low wattage one i.e. 250-350w) hook it up to
see if your problem is fixed, some PSU and mobo combos have issues on start up.
this person has the same issue as me
http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...Language=en-us
mine also is rockstable if left on forever even overclocked or on default settings. But when I shut it down and boot the next morning, it just shows black screen.
One person there commented that his prob. was fixed with the new 1012 bios. Let's hope mine does as well.
I just ordered this mobo and a 1200w Silverstone PSU...I am just interested in this mobo's capabilities as I already have DFI's P35 UT and X48 LT boards...have people clocked up QX9650s on this? If so, how was your experience? Lots of BIOS updates which is awesome :) Asus has bad tendancies to abandon boards soon after releasing them :(
damn, the bios update didn't do anything.
Still facing the same problem.
I'm gonna give ASUS techsupport a call today.
