Let us know epion, looks like these are all going in some kick ass rigs. Ok guys, 24 hours to go, tell your friends, neighbors blah blah, cause once I order them 24 hours from now, I most likely will not be doing a 2nd order because I don't think there will be enuff ppl for another large group buy. Again, you can pay CC paypal or non cc paypal, your choice info is above. Also, can you guys put your xtreme nickname in your payment too? I figured out who you all are except for like 2 ppl, which is ok, but having a payment to go with a sig is nice, hehe.
P.S. Maxx, you have such a nice case, u need this pump to match it, hahaha.
The availability of the S-210 is quite low. I just didn't want to spend almost $90 for the S-240. I called trcelectronics and I got some good help. I ended up buying the SP-200-24 which is basically the same as the 210 but with PFC(?). The SP-200-24 has just over 8A to meet the startup requirement of the RD-20. I bought it for $73 including shipping.

I'd definately buy one if:
1. I could afford it.
2. I needed it.
But they sound like awesome pumps.
I bought one and
1) I can't afford it
2) Didn't need it
But when the new rig is done it will be awesome enough to make me forget I'm stuck eating ramen noodles for a while!
Hell, you could make ramen with your g4 and that pump
anyone know the s-201-24 enough on rd-30?
My friend use s-201-24 with rd-20 without any problem.
201 is overkil... way overkill. but it will work just fine. 150watt is what i would go for. probably generate less heat.
anyone tryed running 2 RD-20's in series yet?
no one needs to LOL
Is there still time to order? I haven't made up my mind yet, but I'm tempted. If it really is silent. Please PM prices!
(I live in Sweden btw, but you said international purchases were fine as well.)
Sent you a PM fareastgq.
Waiting for reply before making up my mind.
I'm kinda pissed I was looking for a rd-20 for months, then I go and buy 2x aquaxtremes and this thread pops up:slapass:
Will RD-20 be the most silent pump (when undervolted) for a PA120.3 rad + restrictive CPU block + 2 gpu blocks and yet provide enough flow? Is the RD-20 more silent than the RD-30 at the same flow rates (ie when undervolted)? Gotta decide now this friday!
Guys, if your wondering how the RD-20 runs for quiet, you can read this thread, please read maxx's sticky on pumps too, there's some info in that too about rd-20/rd-30 as well as a link to pump specs in this very thread. That should be all the info you need to make a good buying decision. I can only tell you about my personal experiences but I am more than happy to answer any questions :) Btw, I'll be ordering them at 4pm central time friday the 7th!!! US time (for everyone ordering international) so that ppl who get paid on friday have a bit of time to get their last pre-pays in since some of you requested that.

So what is the general consensus on a psu for one of these(rd-20)?

Should we be basing it from if we are gonna run our rigs 24/7?
danstar25, the s-150-24 is perfect, you dont need to spend more on the 200w.
fareast, thanks again for arranging this.
yes - big props for bringing the pump of my dreams within reach :banana:Quote:

2) the manual did clearly state that the pump should not be turned on and off continuously. I just won't leave my pump on 24/7 when the computer is off. That's just waiting for a disaster to happen when I'm not around to stop it. Since I will be going against their recommendations, I figured the least I could do is give the pump the amps it needs on startup.
Sure this Iwaki pumps are rock solid and can likely work just fine for years with turning it off and on while using a PSU with not enough amps supplied on pump startup. However, since these are damn expensive, I'd rather protect my investment by spending $25 more on a SP-200-24 rather than a S-150-24.
Hope this helps some of you decide on what Meanwell PSU to buy.
I'm sure the Meanwell is able to deliver more than its rated power for a couple seconds when the pump starts up, kind of like how the peak rating for a power supply is usually 100W higher than its sustained rating.
Indeed it is... Thats what capacitors are for ;)Quote:

Dumb question but if you are not putting a load on the PSU is there a minimum power consumption? If for instance you have a 500w psu with no external load is there some sort of internal load or minimum power draw? Also if there is does it go up with the wattage of the psu?
