Eva2000, how have your overall results been using burn in?
has helped with clocks and voltages below my max oc but my max oc is still the same for my 2x opteron 170,
max benchable
0544XPMW = 2800mhz 1.552v
0546SPMW = 2750mhz 1.552v
max dual prime is 50-75mhz below the max benchable
i should have better cooling after Xmas which may or may not help :)
okay I've read enough... using cpuburn to strengthen my Core 0 :)
Thanks.... :)
*Edit
Im burning in my opt 175.
can someone give me a link to cpu burn k7 please?
Thanks
its in this exact thread look aroundQuote:

Anyway quick question :
have dual core opty 170,core 1 is the weaker.
@1.55 vcore core 0 is fine at 2.6ghz core 1 fails prime after 1min 30 secs.
so do i run cpu burn on the bad core at this voltage?
eg one instance of cpuburn on core 1(weaker) at 1.55vcore?
Thanks
Just want to get it right.
Thats what I gather from this thread.. You want to get it where the bad core fails prime in about 1-2 hours and then with those settings burn-in the bad core with CPUBurn-in..Quote:

my 3800+ was previously stable with about 1.475v (BIOS) at 2600mhz, after a bit of burn in, it's going strong at 1.45v.
So it sure seems to work, aiming to get it even lower.
Hey, I know this is an old thread, but I have a question about cpu burn-in. When I run cpu burn-in k7, it brings the cpu to its knees. Running two instances (1 per core) makes my computer run so slow that it takes 15 minutes to load in the desktop from a screen saver. Nothing like Prime95. I could play games running two instances of Prime95. Does this happen to you guys too?
set once instance to high priority and other instance to normal priority so you can do stuff on your pc :)Quote:

I just started prime95 for core1 (good core), had the affinity set to 1 in both prime95 and task manager. ai booster reports that core1is at 100%, but core2is somehow at %50 =(
I'm going to give this a shot tonight because it seems to work. I'll post back soon :)
hmm after continous burn-in I seem to be approaching 2.9ghz at 1.56volts. Before I can't even stay stable at 2.8. Burn in 1htt at a time using cpuburn k7.
weird .. in my ask manager it says cpu usage is 50% across both cores .. but i set the affinity to only core 0 to burn in .. in the graph on the side though it has core 0 pinned to the top .. and core 1 just doing its normal thing .. its weird ..

CCBWE 0530 TPMW You have to do it slowly especially when you are at the initial limit.

demonbane23, i'd try lower htt a little bit and burn in k7, @2.7 may work for core 0 but it may take longer burn in before it work.
you mean like start at like 2.6 burn in where im already stable>?? or do you mean lower HTT mutli like drop from 3x down to 2x,,, not sure if i follow youQuote:

got ya ill leave it burning in tonight give it a try,,,Quote:

OK you guys got me hooked :) My 3800+ core1 is a little lazy, this is worth a shot to see if I cant get the lazy boy to work :p:
Question, is every one wateing the 6 to 8 hours after a nights run? Or just shutting down untill every thing cools and try results?
