Where the f*** are the mods?
Ummm... seeing as how you think A3 is back from TSMC yet, nice try...
Since you have inside info let me test you stuff that isn't under NDA. What were the yields of A1 and/or A2, clockspeeds, when did they receive said silicon. Let me guess, you don't know any of the above...
I agree. He is basically saying he has heard back that A3 silicon is good, got a 20-30% clockspeed boost and yields doubled, to ~20%. Time to ramp production, use hotlots and hopefully Nvidia bullied TSMC to keep the fabs churning out wafers through the Lunar New Year or else it really will be Q2 before any substantial availability. Whoops... NDA anyone? LMAO.

Many users:rolleyes: How many? 1% of their high end market share? You could argue that Physix is a better selling point and no I'm not trolling but pointing out how ridiculous your eyefinity argument is. Of course people over at [H] are going to defend their $1500+ monitor investment.
A 4870x2 struggled enough in most of the games that I mentioned earlier at only 1920x1080 with a few mods. I'll take higher resolution textures, no gaps in between my screen, a higher framerate, etc on a nice single panel over an eyefinity setup for every day use any day.
No, I don't have the money for the gpu power let alone monitors to run the games that I would like to with my desired mods and settings at such a high resolution, if 2 5970s could even pull it off. Based on the performance that I saw with quite a few games with a 4870x2 with a few mods like the ones that I mentioned earler I doubt it (I have mentioned that enough here). Also I will never put myself through the headaches of crossfire again.
Why do you think that I made my first post? Yes but surprisingly less than the 4870x2 in too many of the games that I play modded. Throw some mods at Oblivion, Stalker,Fallout 3, FSX, etc and watch scaling go out of the window. I don't feel like going through this again. Why do you think that I kept the 280? Because it performs worse?
a 5870 seems to be doing great with eyefinity http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhAqTecVXbE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exyBgKhLWTU
EDIT: 5780 is clocked at 1ghz
:shakes:
I give up. How is any of this eyefinity stuff on topic first of all? Secondly, 3 or more 1080p+ monitors is an insanely high resolution. Based on the benchmarks that I have seen I would imagine that it performs worse than a last gen card at only 1920x1080.
Also, youtube is working like crap for me so what is your point? Since you have yet to make one. I've seen nothing but trolling from you in this thread.
here is how eyefinity works.http://www.elitebastards.com/index.p...9&limitstart=2 basicly it see's the 3 monitors as single large display.
There are plenty of places to go talk about eyefinity. This thread is about fermi.
Who cares how many users. That's not the point. Did you expect people to run out and pick up 2 more monitors the next day? The overall marketshare of high end products is insignificant to begin with, so quoting percentages of that miniscule share is irrelevant anyway. Those that have have it or have used it, swear by it. The fact of the matter is, it is an awesome technology that actually adds something to the experience. I couldn't care less if I can get 20% more performance out of object A over object B if it means nothing to my experience, and there is no noticable difference between it and object C i'm replacing. I'm upgrading from an x800 because there was nothing in the middle that meant anything to me. I'm not into a schlong swinging contests, so more frame rates mean nothing to me, and image quality is more than sufficient as far as i'm concerned. I have no problem dialing down those settings and even resolution for that matter, because it's the gameplay that is all important to me and i don't find that other siht distracting whatsoever. That's where i'm coming from.
And if you want to spend $1500 for 3 monitors, that's your choice. You can get into Eyefinity with 3 monitors for substantially less than that. Besides, the investment in the majority of cases is likely 2, not 3 monitors since it is quite difficult to use a PC without at least 1 monitor to begin with.
QFT
I don't see the point of spending that kind of money to "tone down the settings" and not be able to run any texture mods. It's not about e-peen, I want good framerates with some eyecandy if I'm going to spend that kind of money. There are games that I would like to see better performance with and I don't see the point of upgrading for worse performance. I would rather buy one nice panel than three cheap TN panels as well.
What is your point? This is a thread about fermi. I just pointed out how eyefinity will have no impact on sales.
Someone who is gaming with this high ends going to run in a predicament.
Some one buying this high end obviously has a 24" monitor. So they are dealing with 1920*1200 resolution. And if you were not lucky in the first place, you also have the big ass monitor bezel to deal with. That means, buying 2 more or possibly 3 more monitors at 24" resolution. Thats 500 dollars right there(not good monitors obviously). Then to get playable frame rates at those settings, it requires someone getting a 5970, which is another 650 dollars. Thats 1150 dollars.
Only to realize when directx 11 titles come out or any new games and the better looking old games(like crysis), your computer is still too slow to run the thingrs at better setting, you wish you waited for monitors designed for eyefinity with smaller bezels, and you need to upgrade again. Or you turn down settings so much in games that the benefit of eyefinity becomes null and void because the main monitor your looking at looks starkly worse because of the decreased setting.
I think directx eyefinity won't be ready for primetime until monitors come out with smaller bezels that were designed for the technology(so you don't need to rebuy the whole set when they do come out) and the cards that support them get faster so we can play modern games, not past games.
I think even an AMD fan can believe the above.
Am I one of few people who dose not have a strong opinion on eyefinity, in-till I used/tried it?
Also bad news over all on a3, I hope it dose well for its size.
eyefinity and crysis worsk great also
