Hey guy's look at this :)
1800 cl7-8-7-20-4-20-5-4
http://rol-co.nl/xs/all.jpg
1440 cl5-6-5-20-4-20-5-4
http://rol-co.nl/xs/all2.jpg
find the diference
The diff is you are not pushing tight fast enough to make up for clocks speed. Need 1500+ ;)
No clue why your running that way.
Those sticks will do 6-6-5 1800 rather easy ;)
When you go on ln2 the bottom will fall out loose timings.
That is a significant improvement for 32M! Maybe i don't need 1600 6-6-6 after all?
Are these Dominators GT's?
[QUOTE=chew*;3963675]i'm not pushing, i make a compare and only difference with this is 32m.Quote:

same as aboveQuote:

i know what these sticks are capable of, but better at a i7 board thats for sure. cpu was not maxed either but thats not the point here.Quote:

With ln2 i only push multi, no realy need for a little memspeed if its not realy helping anyway ;)Quote:

@zeus
dominator gt 1866 indeed
Do the compare on ln2 ;) things change bench dependant.
4 gig is to much of a bottleneck to see it.
I think running the ram at high speed only helps in conjunction with high NB speed. (~3GHz)
I just tested 32M at 3.8GHz and 2.6GHz NB with both 1333 6-6-6-18 and 1600 7-7-7-21.
1333 6-6-6-18 came out 5 seconds faster.
Next time i'll try 1600 6-6-6 but i have to put the crucial value in for that (D9JNM)
Will do that tomorrow, of to bed now. ;)
omg.....how do u make it? We have the same x4 955 and u can run Cinebench at 4000MHz and 2970 at NB.... :(. How is your CPU-NB and NB voltage? U must it try, i can run Cinebench max at 3960MHz/ 2840 or at 4GHz with default NB :(...
cpu/nb at 1.48v and nb voltage at 1.28v bios set.
@chew
new run cl6-7-6-20-4-20-5-4
http://rol-co.nl/xs/all3.jpg
same, except 32m :)
Now do it without tweaks and nail my score also use giga ;)
try these timings on asus 1.66v
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/The_Labor...800%204gig.jpg
Thats possible, asus board can do that , the score at 4500 must be easy though, only 68000 eff where i'm running 66900 here.
http://rol-co.nl/xs/4200-15-32m-air.jpg
I'm not tweaking software ;) just hardware etc I really could care less about effeciency and it is asus M4A79-T
Bottom line though is the board is more effecient in PI, its been known.
The crosshair is even more effecient than the m4a however it has its weaknesses as well as it shares the same problematic hardware located in the same identical places. ;)
thought I'd dig up some 4ghz on air and join the thread.

maybe some photos 4GHZ AIR monsters - all configuration PC.
OK, first, my PC photos, all componentes are in signature. Some benchs about 4GHz come later (today si very hot, room temperature are 28 C). All benches i have in PC cases, not open motherboard and accesory big exterier fan :)

older benchmark, il try better in x64 win7

I updated my post with systems pics.

These guys have no problems withthe asus you mentioned.;)
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...3&postcount=36
every board would have some issue's i think.
Heh ask them how many boards they went through to find a good one for a dual 4870x2.cfg.
I know I went through 3 doing some footwork for the event, none would cooperate above 5999 in 4x gpu .cfgs, I know for a fact it wasn't the cpu ;) take a look at this, hmm I wonder what there problem is.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=231668
I have a list of bugs/issues and workarounds for them all. They experienced the same issues so I know i'm not nuts.
There are 4 problematic chip's, and those same 4 are located in the same exact spots on crosshair III....
No doubt the board is killer on air/phase/DI if lucky.....ln2 brings out the worst in it.
I'm poor, so I can't afford to waste ln2, nor play poker with boards that might work.
Anyway here's vantage.

Im suprised....my chip run in x64 win7 superpi 32m with 3980MHz and reasonably voltage....
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/665...mhz2856mhz.jpg
add me to superpi 32M, clock 3998MHz, CPU voltage 1.475V, CPU-NB 1.4V, NB voltage 1.2V, room ambient 26C, AIR Cooler master Hyper 212 and x64 win 7 (next days i try a bit higher :) ).
HW:x4 955 BE, Cooler Master Hyper 212, ram DDR2 Kingston Hyper-X 5-5-5-15 (OC in CPU-Z shot), Gigabyte MA790X-UD4, bios F3

and 2 that I didn't send makes 7 ;) + the one I just linked....seems more have isues than not. It's not just a 4870x2 issue.
Bad support on 5 boards but not 2? That makes no sense.
ATI chipset possible but unlikely or giga and other boards would have issues. Bios issue? same bios works on 2 boards but not 5 others, once again makes no sense.
maybe that's why Crosshair III is not too popular?
is that issues only arrives under sub-zero condition?
I'm planning to built another rig with X4 955/965, but currently I'm confusing with the choise: Should I get GA-MA790FXT-UD5P, MSI 790FX-GD70 or Crosshair III
chew, it that Dominator GT on your vantage?
anyway...list updated on page 1 ;)
