Is this working fine with M3A79-T and DDR2?
I am really thinking that its a good challenge to try this little chip what can do, after I maxed my 9950 to OC..
M3A79-T will need the sxs Mod Bios 0030.. set to auto or Bios 703.
When i tried them with mines it was buggy on the 720.. The 550 could be alot different.
If i rember correct the next Bios for this Mobo should have a Unleashed mode implemented in it.
Ive been checking night and day ,, I want to run the 720 back on The M3A once the New bios is out(provided it has the Unleashed option). other wise it will stay a 3xcore @ 3900mhz:D
Once i get a DDR3mobo for 550 then this UD4P with house the 720be.
I havent used a Gigabyte since 754/days, still have that Mobo too. They have made Huge progress since for AMD platforms.
Im hopeing ASUS pulls through,, M3A79-T is one sweet DDr2 mobo for Clocking on normal cores,, id like to see it come alive with Unleashed Mode one day.
Thanks for the tips.
My M3A79-T was a big help in my 940BE OCing. It was solid and performed well. The MA790FXT-UD5P has been a work in progress since I bought the 2. I am very impressed with F3k so far. And this 550BE is Gem, but the 2 together are exciting. I will try to get it under my main water setup tongith, I have to Mow etc first.
Haaaaha dont forget to clean the edge(trim),,then water once your done:wasntme:
If im around this weekend i gonna put the M3A79-T and 720 back together in my other Water PC. Now i can officially retire the 9950 and Hang on wall ,,
You know that Golden 9950( 3959mhz) run on water that grabbed the uber 720 for me:D *Chew for that contest.
Nice showing guys! :D
Congratz on getting two free cores with your CPUs !
Makes me want one Phenom II X2 but I've already set my eyes on Regor!
For next customer build I will get Callisto to play with :yepp::up:
Awesome, so now we are at 3 from 3 in the 0921 batch range. This is an excellent sign.
So far 6 x 0920 & 1 x 0919 are unable to unlock successfully, and are either unstable or just refuse to boot.
Looks like 0921 is the batch to get for sure  But they are not selling this stepping anywhere in Au yet :(
C-BuZz
Just called the store where I got mine, they just got 2 in today, both are the same stepping as mine 0921APAW

Hahaa,,
Im a bad influence, but in a good way:rofl:
Ive pushed only 1.74v so far but stopped because my PSU is too weak.
It can handle 1.6v easy with the right cooling...Just dont get all crazy and youll be fine.
Haha,, even after selling 720 and buying a 550 , your probally still making money:ROTF:
hmmm...Ohio LOL. I have one in my cart at the Egg, it dropped in price again. My wife just told me NO!!. She told me to sell one before I get another... I do have a bit much of a Phenom Collection. I am slowly getting rid of some. A 720BE is officially up for sale.
They underclock good as well. only 10 mins tho of OCCT
Gotta do what you gotta do,,, Sell that 720 then..... My wifey same way, its like Another one you bought, How many of those you need , Then I say to her how many of those shoes You need....

That is some nice undervoltin there. I am going to get another tweak it and then it will end up in the main MCE box. Based on what you just showed, I think it will be a nice fit.
Sorry for the late response vandiesel, just got back from work. I am using Windows 7 RC 64-bit edition. I was also using the BIOS dated 1/13/09 (lol I wanted to see if the latest BIOS 6/3/09 was better; however my RAM doesn't like the default voltage and now my system refuses to post). Good luck and hopefully we can figure out your issue.
No problem richie and thanks for the reply/info. I will throw what I have tried into the mix

Bios 78DBA525(Latest June) will result in hang at first post screen with ACC enabled, no matter what OS.
With ACC enabled I can't get into windows or get to the first 39 mins screen while installing xp(slipstreamed sp2-3), or vista, or win 7 32bit, it hangs, no problem with just 2 cores, I can install or boot no problem. With any of these OS installed(using 2 cores) reboot/acc enabled I will hang just before the XP chase screen, but if boot in safe mode I can get in.
Installing an original xp(no slipstream) or xp sp1a(slipstreamed) disc with ACC enabled will result in a install and boot into windows with no problems with all 4 cores(this is what I have been using to bench). I have also tried original xp install and then a manual install of sp2/3(individually) and it results in a hang after reboot, if I uninstall I can boot into windows. Ubuntu 9.04 will install with 4 cores also.
I have also tried various acc settings, auto/per core etc no go at fixing problem. The cpu has been benched with 4 cores at 3.7/3.8
