what games are you seeing the improvements on? any specific numbers?
most reviews don't show that much improvement in game loading times

^^ That could be said for anything. Going from QX9650 to a i7 965 could be said the same too, but SSD's are faster than mechanical drives, no point in bi%@hing about it.
Anyways Im thinking about going for just one Intel X25-m for OS and 2 games on it (prob crysis and whatever game im playing at the time) and then put media and WoW on the VR.
I might RAID later but Id rather not deal with the hassle- as I never saw a faster perf when I had 2 Raptors in RAID0 vs one.

I'll be using 1 for my OS, and the other 3 are for sales laptops, but I'll set 3 up on striped RAID on my ICH9 before doing so. Downloading Windows 7 as I type this and prepping my existing 640 7200.11s for backup and firmware update.
1 Drive performance...............sorry all I have is HDTune

This was booting off my old Matrix RAID 640's..........firwmare upgrade went fine btw.
Yum, I like two more please.
As I said in my post, I said level LOADING TIMES. Crysis Warhead, Crysis, FO3, FC2 etc... and no I'm not going to take the time to stopwatch 'em now because I didn't get a baseline.
If you doubt what I'm saying, I can't help ya. I'm just reporting what I'm experiencing.
Y'all are funny. Why the need to hate? Are you using the hardware I'm using to make that statement? No placebo here - that typically comes immediately after an upgrade. This is weeks later. And I've been doing this crap FAR too long to fall to the placebo. My OCD knows the truth.
Ok, thanks for clarifying it was a joke. Let me clarify something again. I never said the games themselves were any faster. We all know that has little to do with storage unless extreme reading or paging is occuring.
I specifically said these SSDs are a LOT faster LOADING game levels than my 3 Velociraptors were. And the benches show why. Games levels/textures are typically lots of fairly decent size files, where RAID0 shines at reading. This is what I was saying. Ok, I think we've covered it.
So tempted to order a 3rd TITAN... I think I will as soon as the next price drop hits 'em.
calm down on those titans!
hold on to get titan II in summer or next year
i don't believe that a 3rd titan will make any difference!

Reading this makes me want to get my second titan, but I got the 256g version and running it as a single drive now, and I gotta say its damn fast for primary os drive. I can multitask on this thing like no other, and definatly huge difference between this and my single vr.
I have had my RAID 0 with two Titan 128s running for almost a week now.
I can say, as others have before me, that this is the single best upgrade that I have made in years. Loading of everything from windows 7 through flt. sim. are faster than I have ever experienced. I get a file transfer rate approaching 400 mb/sec.
Everything feels snappier and smoother. I couldn't be happier
Does anyone have any feedback after using a Titan for about a month? It looks like there's more than their fair share of failures out there...
I get weird results with my 128GB titan on ICH10R. (windows 7 64 bit)
Attachment 94111
2x60GB ocz core v2 in raid 0 on ICH10R for comparison. (windows 7 64 bit)
Attachment 94112
Small file performance sucks on the titan. (vista 64 bit, same in windows 7)
Attachment 94110
That would be close to the results I was seeing until I turned on write caching. Results of all benchies were dramatically increased.
This whole thing is like the Intel/AMD all over again
It is a bit ridiculous.... :)
I haven't heard of a single failure and I've been researching anything and everything TITAN. As far as we know this first post could be from a competing SSD vendor. Don't think that crap doesn't happen. It happens all of the time. One "rumor" of failures could turn into 10's of thousands of dollars lost or made... FUD at work...
What failures, the drives just got to the market...?
sorry but i don't get it
1) why do you bother which company earns and which loses?
2) how do we know that everything you said is BS and you just want to advertise the product.
I don't want to say anything else, apart from that as you don't know anything about that person a few posts above, we don't know anything about you.
We take nothing for granted.
There much be another fifty of you to persuade me that the titans work withouts problems in raid 0.
And don't say anything about competition as i just got banned from OCZ forums for posts in XS forums
