Do you have a BSOD?
Thanks I expected you used a QX9650 but just had to be sure. No after POST (before loading windows) I get a black screen w. white letters telling windows could not start because xxxxx.xxx file was missing or corrupt.
Right now I have been Priming for more than 2.5 h with these settings:
400x9.5, mem 1600
7-7-7-20 1N
CPU voltage: 1.4
CPU GTL: 0.65x
PLL: 1.50
FSB TV: 1.3
DRAM: 1.8
NB: 1.45
NB GTL: x0.67
SB: 1.2
clock O-C V: Auto
Load line cal: Normal (Performance will give me BSOD)
But with your settings (FSB 450) I could not boot to Windows even when setting the multiplier to 7 and leaving CPU voltage at Auto (to rule out my CPU can not handle 4.05 GHz)
I have notised that others (e.g. SIOUX) uses NB volt of 1.65-1.69 for FSB 490-505 on a 45 nm quad but I get almost instant freezes in Windows when setting NB voltage > 1.61.
Based on your timings I assume you are running 2x1GB memory. I suppose it is more tricky to run the higher density 2x2GB memory at 1800 (even though my memory are rated at that speed there is no warranty that the motherboard can handle this). However, SIOUX had no problems running 2x2GB memory on this board so I still expect this is posible for me, see: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=187371&page=3
Which subtimings and command rate are you using Sav? What about the other DRAM-related setting e.g. DRAM static read/write control (mine are all on Auto so far).
Thanks again Sav
Here are my settings for 10x450 24/7 (H2O)
RAM @ 1800 7-6-5-20 1T
CPU volt: 1.475
CPU GTL: x0.67
CPU PLL: 1.50
FSB TV: 1.40
DRAM: 1.90
NB: 1.65
NB GTL: x0.67
SB: 1.05
COCV: Auto
LLC: Performance
(Fan on NB btw)
Thanks a lot xt0m, I was actually hoping to see your settings since I have noticed your quite impressive 24/7 OC  I care for 24/7 OC not for 6 GHz suicide screen shots
# Sav, thank you very much. To be honest I have only tried DRAM voltage up to 1.82 since my memory are only warranted to 1.8 V and the reviews I have read indicated that more volt did not change anything with these chips. I will try to increse the DRAM voltage as well as test the settings from xt0m (with a lower multiplier ;-).
My CPU is not clocking very well :(. I can not get it stable at 10x400 with v-core (BIOS) around 1.43 but 9.5x400 is fine both in Memtest and Prime. Right now testing at 9.5x405. Maybe I should not be so worried about giving it some more v-core. My CPU temps have not yet exceeded max 49 degree celcius (RealTemp 2.6) at around 1.425 volt which I guess is OK on water.
:D Sorry for delay guys - had to stop testing cause I went to the Berlin Airshow for 3 days which is quite an impressive event always again....
But this morning I took some time to get the things to work........:p:
This board is really fantastic - DDR3-2000 / 500FSB is possible at only 1.45 Vmch........ - really nice:clap: :

Vdimm: 1.92
Vmch: 1.45
Vtt: 1.36
Vsb: 1.20
Vpll: 1.54
Vcoc: 0.80
VgtlNB: 0.67
VgtlCPU: 0.62
Clock Twister: Strong
Booster: Manual ---> PL 7
I'm running the blue Cellshocks here.................
Hard work for the chiller these days - we have 33°C outside here and the room temp even at nite didn't drop below 26°C........
# Camouflage very nice result. I hope you do not consider my posts as hijack of your thread.
Another question does any of you Evolution users happen to use an Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1 soundcard? I strongly consider to buy one but I just want to be sure there is no problems with compatibility (using XP Pro x64).
npaa :)
I had similar issues in the beginning; any multi above 9.5 was very unstable. Try loading default bios settings, (and reboot) and go back into bios and disable speedstep/CPU configuration only, reboot again, and this time select cpu ratio and all your usual 24/7 settings.
That did the trick for me
Thanks, I saw that trick in one of your former posts. The funny thing is I think I actually did something similar by pure luck at the very beginning because when everything was set to auto the MB clocked the FSB to 450 and I could not install Windows due to major instability :D
Anyway, I have just been running Prime95 blend for 7 h without error at 10x400, the trick was to use Performance Load line calibration and a v-core of 1.45 :D. Max temp was 58 C (RealTemp 2.6). What is your max temp when you torture your CPU at 10x450 and v-core 1.475?
Even using your (xt0m) or Sav's settings as a starting point I'm still not able to run FSB 450 (can't even complete a 32M SuperPi). I put on a 120 mm fan to take care of NB. I have been through quite a lot of combinations and tried v-mem up to 1.88 and have not event approached stability. What else could be wrong? Maybe my RAM is not good with this MB (Memtest 2.01 is fine for 7 h at MEM 1600 MHz, FSB 400). Dud CPU/MB or just noob user:shrug:
BTW what does "npaa" mean?
 Just tried some settings - strange behaviour here. Against all others experiences I can't boot 8x500 with LLC AUTO or NORMAL - but set to PERFORMANCE it works..........
Am I the only one or did I have one beer too much yesterday........
:welcome:
yes :D it's strange :yepp:
With my QX at 450x9 1,43-1,45 Volt and LLC Performance I have random BSOD, but if I set 1,40 V and LLC auto or normal the system is stable for benching
I have experienced the same as both camouflage and Sav. Earlier I posted that I have primed 7 h a 400x10 with LLC on Performance. Later it restarted during some file copying and was unable to boot to windows at the same settings.
Another thing that bothers me is that I have powered down, switched off the PSU and unpluged the cable - when I power up again I sometimes get a "CPU ratio something" error (press F1/F2). This can happen with CPU, FSB and RAM at default settings - no OC. Anybody else experiencing this? I hope I'm not running into another Striker II Extreme hell of inconsistency
Random BSOD with Load Line Calibration set at Performance, also during boot. Set at Normal (or Auto) everything is fine. However, when set to Normal it appears that CPU voltage fluctuates like hell (at least according to CPU-Z 1.45) - varies from 1,424-1,452 when set at 1,487 in BIOS).
Quote bobov: "I have experienced the same issues on both ASUS P5E3 Deluxe and Premium board."
# Sav, I assume are refering to the problem with "cold boot after unplugging the powercable"? I will definately try leaving the FSB strap on auto because I always set the strap manual, thanks a lot Sav.
# bobov, it is not clear to me whether you are refering to the "Performance vs Normal LLC setting issue" or the "cold boot after unplugging powercable issue"?
Yesterday I managed to get the full speed out of my Mtron Mobi instead of only the 80 MB/s so I also had a bit of success ;-)
:D 7 x 572 out of the box - Vtt = 1.38 & Vnb = 1.55 :
http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/4674/7x572ok5.th.jpg
Maybe I can do 600FSB ~ 1.6 Vnb:p:.
RAM is not much tweaked here, but as You can see this board offers the 1:1 divider also........;)
Think all problems are RAM related - I can't run 266 strap - 333 & 400 is fine and for me only 1:1 & 1:2 divider works - 5:8 is a no go......:(.
Need to try different RAM sticks soon.........
:welcome:
does any one on that mobo have a Q6600 ? How does it roxx ??
:D Anyone already noticed the strange flashing blue light when the board is running?
Makes me nervous - always thinking the police is after me..........:ROTF:
lol :ROTF::D
i have the same situation
I tried to set the FSB STRAP to Auto but it did not change anything. By just switching off the powersupply (without unplugging the cable) I got this error during POST: Error CPU core to bus ratio or VID configuration has failed. Press F1... bla bla.
Well since bobov have experienced this on other Asus boards with Intel chipset I guess it is not a sign of defect but just a strange bug.
QX boot at 495fsb :) stable enough for 1m/32m so trying for more :D
