I can understand that. ;)
But they are not what macci told me for my board (hence not applicable to K10 overall) and neither how my system calculates them. It may be the way DFI boards are though but the HEX values and formula's you are using do not work at all for me. The values macci gave are the correct values for my board. I'm running the system right now, so I can try them and see which value makes which multiplier do what. :)

Right now I'm runnning these AM2+ P-State settings:

218 ref. HT
5x HT link
NB FID 00 (5x)
NB DID 1
CPU FID 06 (11x)
CPu DID 1

And you can see what results it gives perfectly here attached.

KTE, it is only about displaying things in BIOS and how things are interpreted. My tool works with RAW numbers. I'm talking about bits in configuration registers. When you set some value in BIOS, there is a peace of code that sets corresponding bits in some register. We will set that with wpcredit later. For example you said you have 2 options for NB DID. 1 and 2. That is OK, and when it comes to bits and stuff it is eiter 0 or 1 (since NbDid is coded with only one bit). Here is the connection:

BIOS Register 1 0 (2 ^ 0 = 1) 2 1 (2 ^ 1 = 2)

P.S. Interesting. Looking at your previous post ( NB FID 00 (5x) ) looks like 00 maps to 5x.

Yes (to your edit), that is what I was saying to you earlier. :)

NB FID:

00= 5
01= 6
02 = 7
03 = 8
And so on

CPU FID:

00 = 8
01 = 8.5
02 = 9
03 = 9.5
04 = 10
05 = 10.5
06 = 11
And so on.

I am 100% sure of this on MSi K9A2 with Phenom 9500. I've done enough testing with it since 3-4 days now all the way from 1GHz up to 3.1GHz on NB and 200MHz to 2.6GHz on HT.

Thats what I listed before although I changed to what Tictac originally posted as i have no had chance to get to the OS yet and actually check.

Remember boards bios may be wrong, MSI may have mapped the multi's 1 out from where they should be. lets look at the logic behind what Tictac and
lukija are saying.

from the docs the bits represent 00 and up with multi being hex value+4

00=4=4
01=4=5
02=4=6

etc

So I have a feeling MSI have it mapped wrong or the TEC docs are wrong...I will get with Macci today to clear this up.

Those values are what Sami told me for this board. ;)

That's what works on this board but whether it's different to what AMD docs say, IDK, because I've not read them and if lukija has, then it looks like it is.

I do know there are issues with AOD and some boards, with some boards needing a slightly different build of AOD to work correctly.

Im testing NB multi now and booting to vista, will report more as i get it. I do know you have to Disable Cool N quiet on the DFI to get NB multi control ;)

Tony, while you're at it, can you check what happens if you change CPU multi to 11.5x or 12x through P-States? :)

If it's anything like on MSI, then it'll just stay at the maximum stock multiplier (11x on 9500).

If I change NB to past 9x multi through P-States, the system will downclock the NB/CPU/HT to keep below 2GHz NB. Like this: http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/9...wnclocksr2.png

My board has issues with AOD, only 2.10 works with it and still freezes the system up at times, hence why I can't really oc. I have to keep reinstalling it to keep it working well or it bugs out after a while and the shortcut disappears. It does however report everything correctly.

fuses burnt on the cpu will not allow a multi higher than what is unburn't. so the board would either lock or you boot with a default max multi

KTE, I have a request for you. First, set you system as you like, and remember BIOS settings. Download

wpcredit - http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002.../download.html
CrystalCPUID - http://crystalmark.info/software/Cry...D/index-e.html

First we will see values for NbFid. Check attachmet #1 and follow these steps:

0 - open WPCREDIT
1 - select device and choose bus#0 dev#24 func#3
2 - make sure it is 0,24,3
3 - make sure it is 1022 1203 (ignore value on the picture, it is my system)
4 - switch to 32 bit display mode
5 - select register D4 (also you can checkout status bar, it says Reg: D4)
6 - make sure tab 7 - 0 is selected
7 - make a screen shot :)

NbFid value is presented with first 5 bits (4:0)

Next we will see other values (CpuFid, CpuDid and NbDid)

0 - start CrystalCPUID
1 - from Function menu choose MSR Editor
2 - enter 0xC0010064
3 - hit RDMSR
4 - make a screen shot

Tony Flashed to 11/30/07 Bios all is well so far:D Will let it warm up at stock for a few hours and then see whats up:)

ok im trying those soon as possible but im facing these problems phenom 9500&msi platinium : unclean vista boot on desktop driver installs... booted afterinstallation and tryed to log in and bsod same for : xp non sevicepack version and with sp1, havent tested yet sp2, installing vista again...

only thing what i did see from bsod screenie were AMDLLD.Sys and (insert random amount numbers and letters) well how ever system works on safe mode with xp... hoping really that clean vista will allow me to use AOD etc.

So basically lukija you're after the BIN value of NB HEX C8810F25 and the CPUID register values. :p: Well let me tell ya, the NB value reads 00101b which is NB 9x multipler and that's exactly what I chose in the BIOS. ;)

CPU DID/NB DID:

0x48003806 = 0001 = 1
0x800001BD = 0001 = 1

Here's what you asked for:

So far so good. According to your SS it is OK:

NbFid - 00101 = 5 (D4 register bits 4:0)
NbDid - 0 = 0 (MSR C0010064 , bit 22)
CpuFid - 00000110 = 6 (MSR C0010064, bits 5:0)
CpuDid - 000 = 0 (MSR C0010064, bits 8:6)

Put those values in K10Calc and see what happens :)

CPU Speed = 100MHz * ( 6 + 16) / ( 2 ^ 0) = 100MHz * 22/1 = 2200MHz

or if you prefer it this way

CPU Speed = 200 MHz * (6 + 16) / [2*(2^0)] = 200MHz * 22/2 = 200MHz * 11 = (reference clock * multi)

NB Speed = 200MHz * (5 + 4) / (2 ^ 0) = 200MHz * 9/1 = 1800MHz

When it comes to FIDs, BIOS i OK, but when it comes to DIDs, BIOS actaully displays 2 ^ Did, it is not wrong, but just the way to present the same thing in other manner.

So yes this is the right mapping:

00=4=4 (800MHz)
01=4=5 (1000Mhz)
02=4=6 (1200MHz)

Tony, sorry I told you the wrong mapping initially (I don't normally go that low with the values)

00=800MHz on the MSI BIOS too.

NbVid - 0100100 = 36 -> 1.1000V

IddValue - 10111101 = 189
IddDiv - 01 = 2

Yep that's spot on. But while you can change NB VID you cannot change CPU VID manually- > it won't bootup.
