I don't know man I have built 11 D.F.I systems 8 Expert 2- N590 and a Infinity 975G/X and the only problem I ever had from any of the boards was from the Infinity which was the biggest POS and shocking after that many builds with D.F.I and never once issue one and never a complaint or peep from any of the customers either!

Its good to see this board has all Alluminum Caps on it Finally, I just hope that it can run @X8 signal for my Raid CAard and I will deffinately buy one!

what was the last board you had with digi vrm's? i can only remember one board the inq reminded me of, some IWILL board years and years ago.

a lot of people are pointing out now freaking well the 2900xt's overclock, very solid voltage, due to digi vrm's. the clocks and speeds on a 80nm process are amazing and in large part due to digi vrm's.

also its been hinted we aren't seeing the heatsinks for the board because they are looking for a patent. i would assume none of asus/gigabyte/msi are looking for patents as theirs are just basic heatpipe designs, so i would guess its not a "normal" heatpipe they are using, but something new.

Does that sort of user error happen on the 680 LT with no northbridge attached? I doubt it. All it would take is a sticker on the nb and sb like the warning over the socket.

I'm really curious about why mobo manufacturers deploy vcore manipulation the way that they do. I've found dfi's mechanism to be the most decent, allowing for both fid and vid manipulation with c1e enabeld.

However, I wonder why no one chose to just directly manipulate vid for c2d's. I was looking at the datasheet and c2d's have vid provisions up to 1.600v. Maybe it can't be implemented in a way that's readable?? It's a real shame. Otherwise, there'd be real easy vcore manipulation with general software like rmclock. Would make the whole tweaking process a whole lot more convenient.

I'd have to agree. My old 1900XTX squealed and so does my brother's eVGA 8800 GTS. I got lucky with my BFG 8800 GTS OC--it doesn't squeal, even when oced.

I concur with others here: I won't buy another DFI board unless their CS and build quality improves.

So are you expecting all of DFIs P35 mobos to break 600fsb on air?

I wasn't implying that all the boards were broken (there are other threads for that! :D), I was implying that the board that Oscar used to hit 632 is most likely a cherry.

Zeus 750W Specs

I'd like to hear from someone using a 965-S with a non-noisy single rail PSU. Then we can rule that out.

Anyone with a Turbo-Cool 1kW-SR or even Silencer 750 on 965-S with this loud squealing?

The important question is: does having multiple 12V rails at 20A or less, or just noisy power cause the 965-S to squeal more than normal?

You know allot of guy's say Oskar Wu gets nothing but hand picked cherry parts to do his tests with, well wouldn't you fellas say that would stand to reason so that he can find the absolute highest possibilities whith a Motherboard that he designs? I know if D.F.I were my company I would most deffinately provide Oskar Wu with the crem de la crem of components so he could do just that find the absolute max and highest performance properties of any board that he engineers!

Don't know about you guy's in toy land but I am a engineer and its perfectly logical to me because I would expect the same if I were designing the board and bios as I would not want to waste my time with inferior components and have to do it 5-6 times to get a good one to do my job right the first time!

last time i read, the dfi dark didn't play nice with the silverstone psu's... and i have a silverstone... it'd suck to have to get a new psu just to be able to play with a dfi board

I do not believe there is an issue with DFI and silverstone. The board OCs excellently with the PSU. It is the damned squealing that is the problem and I also don't believe that is because of the PSU. I have used the Silverstone 750W moldular unit on 3 DFI P965-S boards and they all squealled. Although one was easier to live with. I also used a Corsair HX620 and that squealled on all 3 also. I also have used both of those PSUs on a multitude of other mobos. P965s, RD600s, 680i's of no less then 4 different manufacturers and none of them squealled.

DFI is compatible with silverstone psu.. :) hehehe I'm using one and my board is DFI Infinity 965p-S

is compatible with HEC 550 Ab and Enermax Liberty 620

I don't know about their Intel boards but I had a Silverstone ST60F modular and it worked like a champ on my D.F.I Expert system.

I'd rather see companies release boards with waterblocks on them. Water should be a standard for cooling computers in my book. heatpipes are just a hassle now a days.

or just have the option to include the heatsink or not and yes the heatpipes look bulky and silly and still suck
