What is your ambient temp for getting 57/57C? It is on a Ninja rite?

how high the cpu go is useless ... the highest stable with lowest vcore is what most people care ...
For most people? Perhaps, but what is more important to me is how well does the chip's FSB track relative to voltage input. This 6420 chip will run 3.0GHz orthos stable at 1.250vcore. But it takes a lot of voltage to go beyond that. 3.2GHz orthos stable requires 1.475vcore. 3.4GHz orthos stable requires 1.575vcore. In my opinion tracking on this CPU is not very good.
I had an E6300 chip that ran up to 3.1GHz at 1.250vcore but really didn't move much from there even when dumping 1.6vcore into it. A very efficient chip up to a 1GHz OC but terrible beyond that. My Xeon-3060 did 3GHz at 1.250vcore and tracked very well up to 3.9GHz with 1.6vcore. The person I sold it to now has it under phase at 4.5GHz (I don't know what vcore he is using). That was an excellent chip in my opinion for 2 reasons, very high OC and very good FSB tracking.
got this of a guy over at ocforums.com
Interesting bit of fine print on Mwave.com...

thats one strict policy they got goin there
hi guys
L651B are not HOT , with 1.62v and a simple WC Kit (32c/30c coretemp) , and its hot here in portugal (Temps Outside » Max= ~27c // Min=~15 )
3909mhz@1.62v (32c/30c coretemp) Watercooled

I think I should go for an E6600 right...
I really want 3.6ghz i dont care if it is 8x450 or 400x9 I just want 3.6ghz with 4mb cache cpu.
|2ed |ey stick with the e6600
sorry guys for the late responding, I got mine form thenerds.net and I'm not sure where they shipped it from (couldnt find the fed ex link in my email). Like I said, the only thing I liked it because it's running quite cool, but now after some observations I have to reconsider to see if it actually running that "COOL" or it's just a wrong reading from coretemp due to it's a new cpu. The reason I said that is because even @ 1.475v vcore, when idle coretemp's showing 21C-23C ... BUT my room temp is around 27C ... so there's no way my Tuniq is 5C below my room temp.
What is your vcore there? CPUz has not been reporting correct vcore for me, and yours is the only chip I've seen over 3.5 at volts even close to what your cpuz screenshot reports.
EDIT:
DOH! So, let me make sure I've got this. 3.9ghz@1.62vcore? Nice chip. I haven't gone past 1.54v yet, but these chips are looking VERY good.
hi
L711A also very good
a friend got one today
6 Hours Orhtos 3400mhz@1.38v

I got another 651 today.
First try, running 3.6Ghz with 1.47V and both cores show 28°C idling in windows, watercooled. Nice upgrade from my old 6400 that would barely do 3.3Ghz.
And looking at Mascaras results it seems there might be another 300Mhz in the cpu:D
got my e6420 from ZZF today batch #L651B325 ill post results later 2night
G my E6420 yesterday. DOA :( Called zipzomfly and got a rma for return of money and ordered a Q6600. That is the third item that I have recieved merchandise now from zzf that has been defective. I don't think we have to worry much about chinese economy and thier growth to a "super power" if they keep putting out crappy mobos' that have to be rma'd and poinsining our pets. etc.. America will eventually stop buying the crap and it will soon have the rep that Japanese made goods had following the ww2. I know off subject sorry :slapass:
Nice step
Here is mine from portugal:
e6420 3400@ 1.36 (1.425 in BIOS) full load orthos stable@1h.

GhostMaster can you please give us your Batch #.Any one know if it is all the G batches or only batch 44Gs that are questionable.I was going to order a week 49G.
I got mine through Buy.com
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...27&dcaid=17768
and since it was my first purchase there I used this coupon for $15 off $200
http://www.buy.com/retail/coupon.asp...879&adid=17662
free shipping gave me a total of $198.99 shipped, which is about the lowest price I've found.
Unfortunately, I was too excited when I got it and just dropped it in as soon as the box showed up. So until I pull it out this weekend while upgrading my chipset cooling, I don't have the week or processor code. I will update this post when I get that info.
Am I ever happy to post this: E6420 438x8 = 3504MHz @ 1.425v (1.4v actual) Orthos Stable for 7+ hours

Idle

That's an official 3504MHz stable on a Swiftech Apogee GT Block with a single Swiftech MCR120 (a cheap 120mm rad for low flow fans) I'm upgrading my loop with a second 120mm this weekend which should drop my temps a bit.
I still plan to make at least a 3.6 if not 3.7 stable speed, but all I had wanted to get out of this chip is sub 15sec SuperPi times... which you can see I was able to do with 3.5GHz.
Not too shabby for a sub $200 processor and a basic watercooling rig. This is probably possible on good air cooling.
I just bought a new 6600 ..hmm
nice results keep pushing those chips :D
looks like 80% of this Exx20 series are performing better than Ex00 series (compared to the newest batches)
