The newer stuff maybie.dont drade in ur patriot for this junk.period :(
I think that part of the reason that people are running over 3.2v now is the A64 memory controller.
On socket A anything over 3.2v didnt give you much of a gain (it never did for me)
The CPU itself just wouldnt run more than 250mhz no matter what timings or voltage I gave it.
With A64 the CPU is capable of allot more, so you get better scaling at higher VDIMM. My old Bh5 carrys on going faster well past 3.2v. Although I wont run all more than that for any length of time as I dont want to kill anything for a few FSB. But its handy for benchmarking where I can crank it up to 3.5v and get a nice FSB boost.
From what ive seen on forums so far, I dont think this new stuff is any better than old Bh5, but I dont think its allot worse either.

Hehehehehe
Do you guys remember the firsts days of A64? A lot of people was killing his CPU's due to high Vdimm...
And look it now, everybody using 3'5V and more...
I just guess what would happend if the venice core (for example) die at high vdimm's... :D :D :D
Me 3 , maybe we need bablefish but i dont recognise what language it is to translate from.Quote:

ive got a pair of 2x512mb DDR500 corsair with hynix chip in my comp now
and they work good in 2.6v
my crappy clawhammer dont go over 236fsb anyway.
so im thinking of sending back the bh-5 but they were real cheap 120$ for 1024mb
gonna test oc the comp to 250x9. and see how it works.
still i dont know why i bought the bh-5
maybe just to bring old memorys back from the socket a time ;)
You're going to get him in trouble if he tries to sell them outside of the classifieds... be careful :stick:Quote:

i can just send it back to the store
or buy a newcastle core :)
and test OC with the BH-5
but then im gonna get a pair of corsair and a clawhammer just lying there.
gonna go home and see what the maximum voltage my mobo can give the vdimms,
then decide :)
dont wanna spend more money on this crappy s754
That TwinMOS SP is good stuff! I own several pairs.Quote:

and run 2-2-2-11 timings 200x10
i run the corsair @ 2.5-3-3-11 @ 200x10
cant have lower timings
and i can max do 236x10 3-4-4-11 with this crappy clawhammer
im gonna do a test and try 250x8
or else the claw go and enter does a newcastle 3400
only hopes that my mobo will have good voltage settings
and not max 2.8v or smth :(
Volt mod! An overclockers best friend.... Or is hot glue an Overclockers best friend...
yeah volt mods.
dont like hardware mods :)
been there burn that :P
rod i see atleast u got the same corsair :)
what timings and speed u run that in?
atm i have them @ 2.5-3-3-11 400mhz @ 2.6v
and plz can some1 confirm that clawhammer 3200+ SUXX ;)
i would feel alot better then.
would suxx to buy a newcastle and then its my motherboard that cant go higher then
236x10 :(
the newcastle 3400+ is a 12 multipler that is good. higher the better :)
hate the claw that cant go higher then 10
2.5-4-4-7 250MHz 2.8V
why 7 ?
what i know 10-11 is alot better
everybody is saying bh-5 does around 280
but the fastest they sell is ddr433
why dont they sell any bh-5 DDR500? if they do so well.
even seen ppl with 2-2-2-5 @ 250
and so FU*KING cheap!!
i mean 1024gb for around 120€
i paid around 300€ for my corsair 1year ago
thats what makes it so hard to just "trow" them away
Not every motherboard has the option to give enough vdimm for the bh5 to do ddr500, most people dont even know that adding more voltage will actually increase performance.Quote:

the corsair still cost around 240€ for 1024mb.
thinking of selling both cpu and mem for around 260€
then :toast:   :toast:
my old rig with barton2500+ and bh-5 did around 2550mhz
my rig now with 3200+claw and corsair do max 2360mhz
:( shouldnt have bought a new rig. since the xp64 took ages to release
finaly home.
to see that my mobo can max give 2.85 vdimm :( :( :(
:banana::banana::banana::banana: CRAPPY F**KING :banana::banana::banana::banana:!
my clawhammer got stepping ADA3200AEP5AP DAAOC 0414RPMW
anybody knows there limits?
Hey guys what's up?
I'm a little confused too. Trying to figure out which stuff is what and what is better. I'm thinking about buying a new rig in the next month or two. Gonna try out a Venice with the DFI nF4 board. But there are WAY too many memory choices.
I was thinking about getting some TwinMos SP. But I'm really not sure which chips they use now. There website says CH-5 (eh) for the DDR400. But I also heard that some use UTT :slobber:. So I was thinking about putting that on my wishlist. But now I here that the BH-5 is back and that's in the DDR433 sticks. So now I'm really not sure which stuff to get. Not to mention the fact that the market changes so fast in a month.
So a little help guys? :) Thanks.
@ej9696
There's 2 types of UTT
Sticks with CH-UTT (.130µm):
TwinMos Speed Premium DDR400 (not all, look for P/N: AA4T), OCZ VX, A-data, ???
Sticks with BH-UTT (.175µm, there is NO new BH-5, just BH-UTT):
TwinMos Speed Premium DDR433, 1GB Mushkin Blue DC (IMO, not worth the risk), The new GEIL UltraX, OCZ VX 3200/4000, ???
I've been perfectly happy* with my Speed Premiums for the last few months.
 TwinMos!
* recently 250MHz 2-2-2-5
Actualy i'm not overclocker but now running new Geil Ultra X at 1.5-2-2-3 210Mhz:

can we close this with the tetermination that our buddie got the bh5 and twinmos now suks?
sry but this stuff aint bh5>{
@chester: Sorry. I don't agree.
There's more in to getting bandwidth out of these sticks than cranking up the HTT.
Nobody has ever stated officially that these chips are The BH-5 we know (except TwinMos' product description). Though they are made with the same process they are not identical to original Winbond BH-5 (Winbond uses tech from Infineon to build these).
  .
just got my twinmos mtec "value" 05124 1A4T

at stock v very nice !Quote:

off course :hehe:
nice numbers again its a win or loose deal. I lost oh well, altogh the mem not worth that of what is claimed, and stated.I beleive n this case the cheaper mem is worth 2wice the price of the sp.My opinion for whatever.
My Twinmos SP 3500 can run 250 2-2-2-8 all day with 3.47 vdimm
Holy Thread Revival Batman! :p:
thats a LOT of volts!!! My average on over 14 Winbondbased sticks for 2-2-2-5 and 250 is 3.2V!Quote:

Nice thread :)
Could be nice to know, which DFI NF4 bios people use with Twinmos UTT?
Aleman: Where did you buy those nice Kreton sticks?
I'm also a happy man with my 2 x 256MB PC3500 Speed Premium. I'm still running S754, so I didn't test with two sticks yet.
Module A:
http://www.tweakers.net/ext/f/65150/full.jpg
@ 3.6V
Module B:

@ 3.7V
A few days ago I got my nF4 Ultra-D, so I can try running dual channel.
I haven't burned in yet, this was the result "out-of-the-box". So I think 270MHz DC must be possible, or maybe even more (let's hope so...).
