Attachment 127270
i hope i can do better whit the right wassa setting.
slaske6 Its amazing you have FAmily Jewels as your avatar. I just watched disc 1 the other night. Im a scott fan.
FYI guys on MVG. looks like shamino gave us a new bios with a setting for Spi.
M5G 0086
Added SPI Booster option, enable to see if can boost superpi times slightly
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-d9563a08.html
***yikes. its doing something but its tightening something a bit too much. I can't pass pi at my old settings.
**again.. I think i got a dud mvg. something is so fishy about this thing. I'm sending it back. now when I set up 5ghz and do my settings(note speedstep is disabled) i get into win. my mem clocks are correct but its showing cpu frequency at 3.5ghz. i reflashed to a different bios etc. its still doing the same thing. the only tthing I can think of would be that I have my ac blasting cold air in to a 4x120 rad h20 and condensation is in the socket. regardless, my times are crap and I think I need to get a new board. hey dino/zeneffect what is the best bang for buck gigabyte board?
IM capped at 35x I guess this is a known issue on z77
Look:
http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47721
I will get another mvg but in the meantime I want to try another board.
have you guys messed with this one?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128543
or should I play it safe and get this?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128544
I have the new asus mitx board at work. I'm gonna set it up tomorrow and see if I can compare and see if its the mvg or something else. dumo I cant wait to see your MVF results.
I don't hate, I simply didn't notice.
TA, I like gb's tweaker :D
Im down to 6m 27s, fully tweaked OS, however none manual CW yet, so... 1 more sec there..... But.... 26 is high....
I am on Z77 Extreme6, anyone out there that has one and can throw in a shot? Oh and I have had two terrible IMCs... my run is 8-11-7 1250mhz but terrible subbies...
just point me to the cheapest GB board that can clock as good as the more expensive ones and I'll buy it. the mvg is already in the box going to Rma tomorrow.
I am going to try some 32m on this thing tomorrow. i just want to see if I can get better times at the settings I had on the mvg so I can compare.

I think the issue was with your settings and OS from the start. If the multi is stuck at 35X it means corrupt EC, you can ask for a BIOS chip or X-ship if you are within the US.
As for your settings, I did offer to help but got no PM from you so there's not much I can say to debug from here at this point. When you get a board back from RMA the offer is open. Efficiency wise I know we are on a par with everyone else out there and maybe even faster in places if the right settings are applied (though one has to balance the IO according to the DIMMs used). If the board were truly slower I think there would not be many entries under 6m20s.

In need of efficiency :D

i've wasted loads of time trying to stop these program errors but finally seems ok after i raised vcore 0.09V.
been quite hot weather here and i've seen this message a lot.
http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/q...og_error_1.png
my PSC is weak on primaries, subtiming ok. have to use 4 sticks to try and get into the game:D
btw my tREFI might not be a meaningful number.. i just doubled the auto setting.
goes up to 65535 but don't think it affects performance above ~16k, maybe lower.
not had stability to test performance much yet.

^ Nice run
Why the 4x2GB? And very effecient run indeed....
Bothers me a bit, using another board, but OS should be just fine, CW can be optimized, but almost identical timings - exact same frequency on cpu/ram, but my time is anotherr 6 seconds worse.... Will try another board soon...
the MVG is in the box. just wanted to test this little mitx board I got for my work rig and see if I can rule out that the mvg was bad from the start.
dude. this thing is so ridiculous! I loved the H55N-USB3 mitx back in the clarksdale days. I think its so rad of asus to make that extra extension for the power. i just reinstalled os and doing my tweaks now. I have the trident kit in there right now.
so far this is what it looks like.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=1#post5107469
Oh damn, I did not expect that!
I only got 2 sticks of PSC, however I do have 4x4 Samsung... Would it make sense trying to get those up in speed?
Pff, seems I both have to check a few auctions, and try some more ICs, doing IC's for a review anyway, wont hurt to include more.
Cheers!
PS: I honestly had no clue that 2x full bank didnt occupy all interleave, a new change?
Guess I was one of the girls that didnt follow the directions:D, forgot to post specs back a couple pages on post #283. Or something else missing from my screen?

It's at 8 :)

*new numero uno, nice work raja
Thanks. With a good memory kit, somewhere in the 6m17s is on the cards.
wow raja you're pushing hard!
Lol, I think around 2650+ will do it with 2x2GB. Had a glimpse this morning of how much faster it is but was not stable. These guys with the CAS8 air sticks are sitting on that time :)
i was waiting for the "6'16" answer hahahahha
Lol, I would not rule that out if you got some sticks that scale with Ln2. :)
Hello guys! Seems like i'm missing something, my last loop is always slower than yours. Didn't figured it out yet.

Nice scores lads, makes my 24sec flat look rubbish :p
Nice one, Raja.
I will join this competition as well. At the moment i managed to get 6.23min but with a crappy OS...
When will the board will be released?
Should be on shelves this month, though the actual time will vary depending upon region.

Congrats Raja, Awesome run!
awesome run raja, makes me want to run some sticks cold!

That's a good run on the 3570 Dumo. Those DIMMs look tasty, should get you 6m18s and under when cold with a 3770K.
Thanks Raja:up:
Will go cold soon:)

*number1 is insane
Yeah, that time they posted is just a quick and dirty Honda. It has another 2-3 seconds in it for sure.
Congrats on your great score youngpro. You are keeping some wonderful company.
Raja - you have done amazing things for Asus and you are one of the Elite overclockers in the business. Congrats on keeping up with the Motley Crew from computex booth. :D
I agree, hw is insane. Tweaking i can't comment - I'm not in their league :p
They are just fooling around Ron, if they really go for it, this will only be a fun thread to look at cos of the gap..lol
Those GSkill DIMMs are something else.

ive locked and locked for a bios that can give drrvoltage and cpu ,or pehaps an hardmod but can find it
any 1 who can tell me where to get it . or isit only the probenchers :D
it siems like my scorer is not valid in here so i haft to doo a better 1 :p:

have to check with bbse the next days..also have a 20.0xx but want to go für 19 :D
Attachment 127407
I've to know what's possible with the bbse :D so keep pushing it ango
Can it physically not deliver more or is it just a BIOS limitation to give the MVF a place in the market?
Rajinder, any release date of Formula & Extreme? They are both shown at computex, but maybe you'll be up for giving a bit techie stuff on what makes Extreme superior, if any^^
EDIT:
Rosty, rigtig fin tid! Puha, slaske og dig kommer til at give mig problemer og søvnløse nætter i 4ghz tråden :p:
Still going! :) Played about with maxmem... didn't see much difference but at least the copy was quicker & more consistent.

^^totally agree. I'm on the z77x-ud5h now until i get my mvg back. one thing I love that the asus board has over this is how easy it is to flash the bios. even off a usb NTFS with tons of files and folders I could easily navigate to the bios.
and flash. the gigabyte I had to reformat to fat32 for it to work. not a big deal. the ud3h looks promising. very nice board for $150 bux. but like runmc says, Raja, its great to have you here buddy.
We'll have some info for you guys soon (guides and such). Will be in HQ soon so will work with Shammy in putting something together for y'all. If you are into Super Pi then the Formula has the requisite tweaks to be honest. The Extreme will add some GPU horsepower for multicard and possibly some more Shambo tweaks for the cold stuff.
N.America region has the Formula penned for retail release at the end of the month I hear.
I have not checked the max supported VID codes on the controllers or what the VRM can safley pump out, Shammy usually locks out stuff with good reason. When the board was released that was also deemed enough in pretesting (I was present when the good ESes arrived). The Formula has more than just extended VID ranges, there are hardware additions and changes on the board which give it an advantage for memory clocking.

crazy list so far!
wow you guys have been busy, I just got back in town and all ready down in the 6:18.xx
hopefully I will have some time for a submission this weekend.
hey Zen
thanks for lending me your sticks to have a play
here's a quick warmup on air cooling :), got some issues with wazza but will get this worked out and shoot for 17s

Thought CAS would scale a bit more. CAS 8 is almost as fast as CAS 6 here, need to test more, just a quick unoptimized run.
raja why not use cas 8 2900+ then?
I see
turns out, maximus V formula does not come a shamino in the box, I was disappointed
lol, cloning him has not worked yet.
You up and running yet?
yes but I was trying to hit a grand slam right away ;) so need to start slower and work my way.
I hate vaseline, Ive already ruined my work shirt and pants but there is no other way for cold mem im afraid...
I hear ya. Shammy uses that stuff all over the place..lol
I usually seal the perimeter between the memory PCB and heatspreader with eraser, and then create a seal between the slots and DIMMs. Don't need vaseline then, but its a bit more risky I suppose.
Awesome run Raja:up:
Good luck Splave:)
Just got a few costa 3770K here. First chip is a dud:D
I will test more when I get time this weekend, this was the first run :)
Hi AS, should be running 32M :)
