Here is a double edged sword, tip for maximizing bclk/yet the wrong setting can produce CPU sensitivities to '00' at resets etc :
http://g.imagehost.org/0393/skew.jpg
First set Skew driving voltage to 1.04v, set bclk skew to 0 , rest of skew to auto and start pushing bclk to find limit.
next set Skew driving voltage to 1.04v, set bclk skew to -8 , rest of skew to auto and start pushing bclk to find limit.
next set Skew driving voltage to 1.04v, set bclk skew to -12 , rest of skew to auto and start pushing bclk to find limit.
if bclk is increasing going to -12 then slowly lower skew driving voltage from 1.04v to try to max bclk again.
for reducing bclk First set bclk skew to 0 , set Skew driving voltage to 1.04v,rest of skew to auto and start rewducing bclk to find limit.
next set bclk skew to +12 , set Skew driving voltage to 1.04v,rest of skew to auto and start rewducing bclk to find limit.
if bclk is redusing going to +12 then slowly increase skew driving voltage from 1.04v to try to reduce bclk again.
So I pretty much gave up on 5Ghz+ for daily use :shakes:. Not worth how much I had to bump the voltage to get it stable at all; too high temps for my liking too.
I am working on stability at:
i7-2600k @ 4.8 HT off, 1.350v
I know 1.325v is unstable (small fft fail < 1 minute).4x4GB @ 1866Mhz, 8-9-8-24-2T, 1.625v
I know 1.600v is unstable (blend fail < 1 minute).
At the above settings I ran blend overnight; 3 of 4 threads were still running after 8+ hours; one thread failed with a rounding error after ~2hr.
I am testing a bump in VCCIO to 1.07500 currently - does anyone have any insight as to where I should look for additional stability at these settings?
Thanks,

Hi, I'm experiencing some problems here, i get a double post everything i touch the bclk. Is there any option or bios to get rid of the double post?
Am using bios 1303
hello guys i want to know for k series processor
overclock take enable intel speedstep tech and turbo mode or take it off?????
thank you
Thanks for replying but I think u got me wrong. What I meant was I'll get a double post every time I shut down n power up. Yes I know the mb will do double post after I change bclk in bios n save. But is it normal that every startup upon shutdown will do a double post?
I have mostly been following this information posted by an ASUS rep.
According to that, VCCIO is involved in the memory controller. As I was pushing the ram a bit past spec (not much, but it is 4x4GB - much harder to OC), I decided to up it a bit. I was erroring/crashing linx in seconds before I upped it. After, I ran about 15 minutes or so and saw a couple 101 bsod's so upped the vcore too. I ran 6hr small fft and 20 pass 14GB working set linx today without issues, as well as some 3dMark 11 Extreme passes. I am about to set up blend and go to sleep.
TLDR: VCCIO seems to help if you are pushing ram very hard or have 4 sticks instead of 2. My current voltages etc. are in sig. - everything else is on Auto; PLL and LLC as well.

when i set the voltage to 1.55 i take cpu overvoltage error
what it means?????
how i can to bypass this error
ty
set the Vcore readout to ignore in the Bios monitor tab...
ASUS MaximusIV-Extreme BIOS 1204

i have 1303 its older this one???
Not to say this doesn't work but lets says all cpu's react diff?
I played with every skew setting on one of my chips. The lower 4 do not have ill effects. The top 2 ( voltage + bclk skew ) however no matter what setting or combo fail to post.
Leaving them alone =
Just got this beast. Anyone know the diff between the 82583 and the 82579 Intel Lan controllers?
chew at 110 bclk i can tell you the skew is not at 'default' when left alone.
is 1303 still the newest bios?
What is new in the 1303? From 1204?
nice mobo but i have a crappy cpu only 53x :(
How to find max multi...
Try this with 51X to start, doesn't matter what air cooling you use..
http://img857.imageshack.us/img857/5...enshot015q.jpg
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/223...nshot016om.jpg
http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/3...nshot017os.jpg
My cpu maxed @ 56X
57X will stop @ blinking cursor and AE on post code reader. Sometimes a cpu can boot all the way to windows splash/bars and freeze...that means limitation of multi has been reached..

Guys, should i reject this board? I sent my B2 for B3 swap but it came back like this...
http://i458.photobucket.com/albums/q...K/DSC_0025.jpghttp://i458.photobucket.com/albums/q...K/DSC_0030.jpg
http://i458.photobucket.com/albums/q...K/DSC_0032.jpg
http://i458.photobucket.com/albums/q...K/DSC_0034.jpg
so basically Asus just desolders the old B2 chipset and resolder B3 on old board, forget about scratch here and there, missing accessories and return it to customers. Is this the so-called B3 one to one exchange program?
lol sham
i have one cpu that loves + on bclk skew for higher bclk L051Axxx
and another that likes - on bclk skew for higher bclk 3103Bxxx
vcore for vcore etc all voltages on both are same
Kevin !!!
REJECT that damaged board immediately! demand a NEW one!!
So i am not alone with revived board. I duno whether it is DOA or not just don't wanna touch it.
yes of course I will do that, because this is a FLAWED one to one swap program committed by ASSus. They are supposed to give me a BRAND NEW board without question asked.
what a bad first impression u had there man. :(
ASSus will do anything as long as there has a business for them. They never care about their customer feeling instead only concentrate on doing sales. The "desoldering-resoldering" B3 chipset took 3 weeks + which shows they are slowpoke and inefficient in handling such an after sales service. Bottom-notch service
3 weeks +... they gotta stock some well used B2 boards first to start shipping them back as a B3 boards you know, ha-ha
makes me glad I bought a bnib b3 with no problems:D
I would definitely return those turd looking boards asap and demand a bnib product just like you bought originally.
crap i just screwed up my bios 1
it wont overclock bclk anymore
aka wont do the shutdown restart thingy anymore
even when flashing bios
since i can only use from 1204-1298 and 1303 atm
even using 2nd bios at bios 6xx and with it reflashing the irog firmware
1st bios is a no go
anybody got a solution??
You probably pressed Q-Reset button? When you do that, it screws bioses power management part inside the bios and you have to buy a new bios chip or reprogram it with EEPROM.
No other way to fix it
No, this one
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5041/...eb3bd041d9.jpg
It screws only one bios and that is the one which was used when you pressed it
nope never pressed that.. where the heck is that.
Then you didn't followed the instruction on how to flash bios. That is two known reason when you can't change bclk. Maybe you did something else, but that is what I know as I pressed q-reset and got the new bios chips from ASUS
owikh84...
The condition of that RMA exchanged board is kind of "bogus"!!
I guess the best way to ensure a new board is to do an RMA/exchange with the original retailer. It so happened that B3's were already out when I purchased mine but I still have a dead TP67XE that I'm waiting to exchange at Micro Center when ever they get the B3 versions back in stock.
I also have a perfectly functioning B2 ASRock Pro Fat that I bought second hand on the classifieds and the only way to get a B3 is to RMA direct with ASRock. Now I'm wondering what kind/condition board I'll end up with when (if) I RMA it?

I have voltage problem with stock settings on 2600K
once in idle voltage automatically drop to 0.9v. Now i have all the time 1.264v
http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/9823/beztytuuidw.png
I check many bios and still to be high voltage in idle
What it might be the reason?
Hi guys, is it possible to flash the bios1 while runing on bios2 ?
Also, do you get weird usb 3.0 ports behaviour ?
In fact, I lost 4 usb 3.0 ports, after a normal cold boot like everyday, tried many things to solve issue, finally I switched bios ( with the little red button ) and magical ports came to life ... any explications ?
PS: english not my maternal language.
You can't flash bios 1 if You runing on bios 2. But You can flashback any bios with USB ROG Connect.
1: Download any bios:
2: Rename to m4e.ROM
3: Paste to USB Pendrive bios file and turn off PC
4: Plug pendrive to USB ROG Connect
5: Pres and hold over 5 sec ROG button. You can see the bios 1 led is blinking.
6: Wait to finish (the bios led stop blinking)
I flashback from bios 1303 to 1101 etc.
thnks seba always wondered about that
thought it could rescue my bios 1 but didnt.
cstk1: Did you see my post?
I have this board waiting to get my new case before I put it in. Need help getting to 4.8ghz.
Unless you got a crappy CPU, just up the bclk to 100 and multiplier to 48x and set vcore to 1.450v to start with. If it's stable at speed, then you can try to lower the vcore for a cooler running CPU. What I find to be a little more comforting is use CPU Level Up to 4.6Ghz as the initial OC. Once it passed 12 hours of Prime95 at that speed, then do the manual OCing as I stated in the first two sentences.
Any ideas what are the specific voltages that has to be increased for 5Ghz overclock apart from the Vcore? Most of them are left "AUTO" so some tweaking might probably help?
yeah i did do that with 3 procs lol
no diff. this issue happened in bios after a series of changes and adding thumbdrives etc etc etc. with a newly installed cpu
i've taken ure suggestion and even when further by changing 3 different cpu's still nothing
bios 2 works fine
I can confirm that boards not running hyper at 2133 7-7-7 are just not good hyper. Popped some new cas7 2000 doms in and works like a charm up to 1100 7-7-7 for 32m :D
I make wallpapers ;) how do you like?
http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/284...seba842005.jpg
well i am stuck at 106.7
i clock every 25mhz on dram
been trying for 107.8/107.9 to get 2300mhz
hmm the i/o skews seems to change when i change dmi A/B skews.
and the rtl thingy seems cant run anymore other than 14.
So... 16x/16x with NF200 has better performance than native 8x/8x???
Very nice seba . Are you taking any requests on the wallpaper?
Personally I'd like one in 1920x1200 with just the RoG logo in the middle and not the board on the lower right. 2560x1440 and 2560x1600 would be nice for future-proofing as well.

There You go ;)
1920x1200 RoG logo only in the middle:

1920x1200 fixed.
Very nice again; (edit: thanks for the quick fix).

So you gonna allow people to download it/them and use as wallpaper, is that your plan?
Has anyone tried the latest/new BIOS? :) How is it compared to the recent 1101?
1303 best so far :)
my luck.. i buy P8P67 Deluxe B3 last week and i can run my Hyper 2133 7-8-7 @ 1.725v n 2133 8-8-8 @1.6v (24/7), this is my 2nd board that can run my hyper go to 2133, my first board was UD7 that can too... other board like P67 pro, Giga UD4 or Asrock Fatality failed to run my Hyper to 2133 :(
+1 for Asus P67 Deluxe B3

Hi
i show 1.38V CPU for 5000Mhz
but me have 1.45V CPu for 5000Mhz
how do that on maximus 4 ex ?
the P8P67 deluxe is better than maximus 4 ex ?
i have number on CPU : L101B540
Thanks ;)
Sorry for this being off topic but i have this board and a MM 10 slot pci case and would like to fit 2 Asus GeForce GTX 570 DirectCU II to run in sli recon they would fit ok?
they will fit but 1 will be in a x8 slot I believe
2x NF200 pcie will run SLI at x16/x16.
Both 470s are double slot and have a nice gap between card`s but the 2 slot card`s will be to close i think and will maybe overheat them.
Hi
i have a question for a choise (memory) on M4E
the best kit 2x4Go ?
corsair DOMINATOR GT pc 16000 cas 8 9 8 24
or
[ Ripjaws-X ] F3-17600CL7D-4GBXHD cas 7 10 7 27
thanks
What software do you guys recommend to stress-test the cpu?. I have been using Prime95 for ages now and want to use something else. Maybe something new "on the marked"...I feel that running small fft is just overkill and not beeing nice to me at all :D
Or is it still Prime95 wich is the main test software?
