as expected, do the same perf than the i7 920 on X264 bench.
That show the limits of HT on intel, that is more 4*1,5 cores than 4*2 .
i'm waiting for the cheaper amd X6 to do some tests :p

Can we get pictures of the stock cooler to see if amd has uped their cooler area.
from the photos i saw, it looks like they stayed the same, 4 half sided heat pipes, and same dimensions. and since these are all under 140W, they had no need to change. and honestly its a great cooler, im using mine cause i took out my water cooling, and at 40% fan speed, no noise and under 40c in gaming, under 55c when stress testing, and thats overclocked (by only 400mhz and no volts, so its a 940 @ 965 speeds)

if the temps reading are correct, they are about 10-15c cooler than a phenom II quad
it actually does look different, my old 940 dinosaur has a copper core, not the full base.

Ok got my 1055T finally up and running.

It sure takes up lots of extra time to swap cpus with the Scythe Mugen 2 (push/pull config, @#$@#$#@ fan clips!!!). Especially if you swap from A to B, find out that system won't post because your dumbass forgot to update BIOS first, then swap back to A, update BIOS, swap back to B. Took an extra hour (when I updated BIOS I didn't even screw the motherboard down). LMAO!
Just starting to tinker around now.
So far my RAM is severely limiting me. Can only hit 4.3GHz / NB 3GHz so far.

I think I've managed to disable Turbo as well. In my BIOS there's an option called "Core Performance". I disabled it. I haven't seen any crazy jumps or crashes due to turbo kicking in.
"Core Performance" is Turbo Boost,good job ;).

What's even funnier is that my 1055T also has BPMW, the 4th Phenom II chip I've gotten that was made from that factory.

Yeah that's cool your parents are doing that. The 1055T will hold you over for quite some time since you won't be able to upgrade for awhile.

At least that 790X can disable the Turbo wich is a PITA for overclock.

The Bolded Item is not working after you click on I agree link. All I get is a Google could not find message. So im just going to have to work off OCCT, Prime 95, Cine 11.5 and Everest as well as anything else my friend brings with when he helps me install. Big case and heat sink need help. 1055T was shipped going through USPS which is really better because they take care of packages and we have one of those big sectioned mailboxes so if there is a package they put it in a package box and put the key for the box in our mail box. The only problem with USPS is I cant track its progress. It will arrive anywhere between between Thursday the 29th and Saturday May 1st.

mum, games are not much optimized for multicore chips... One thing you get with X6 is 3 or more cores being ready to do anything you like while you are gaming at the same time! This is great since you can fold and do world community grid or you can encode audio/video and still be able to have the same performance as if you are just gaming due to sheer number of available cores to you. This is also known as multitasking and these chips look like they were born for this kind of usage. Not to mention X6 clock great and have lower temps due to process node improvements AMD made with their 45nm SOI tech.
