Doh :(
Same issue with P04 now. Non-OC keeps telling me: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupted: \Windows\system32\I_intI.nls
Wellknown error-message under extreme OC, but on default thats quite new to me.
Back to P02 all is fine as long as I dont OC RAM/FSB.
This P04 bios did wonders to this motheroard. QX overclocking was easy before and now wolfdale oc is too. 560fsb was no problem. You don't have to touch GTL values at that fsb, so everybody should be able to do the same.
My both G.Skill memory sets are working just fine. (2GB HZ is D9GTR and 4GB HZ is D9JNM). Cellshock/Corsair memories are working well too, like we have seen earlier.
I will start to test some other mobos now, so you guys have to keep this thread updated

I second that 100 percent now. After issues with P04 first I pushed the board to 590 MHz finally w/o touching reference voltages.
Boot into Windows with 580.
CPU-Z
So P04 is a big step forward. Keep pushing guys
Dividers from 1:1 up to 1.2655 working nice now. Starting with 1:3 and up it still stick with error-code 54 or C5. Command Rate 2
seems not to work (at least for me). Will keep on testing tomorrow some other RAM.
fast....fast.....very fast :D:D

I am seeing many people use PO4 bios. Does anyone know how it compares to the G25 bios?
after purchasing some cellshock pc3-1866 2 x 1gb blue modules and updating the bios to p04 and setting the settings from anandtechs preview article in the bios and also the clock skew settings to +300, i can now complete post and boot in to windows at 8.5 x 500 but am not stable
i get an intermittent bsod of error stop 0x0000007 and super-pi crashes
i have ran memtest+ 2.01 and it passes all 8 tests once but on the second pass it fails on test 4
also in the bios i have set 8 as the cpu multipler but during the post and in
everest and cpu-z it shows up as 8.5
has anyone any ideas where i go from here
i will post bios settings tomorrow as it is quite late and i have work tomorrow
thanks

The CellShocks arrived, so I proceeded to installing them in place of the OCZ3P18002GK kit that I was using. Just did a quick 400FSB, all auto but the 7-7-7-20-1T timings and 1.8xv [to test the issue where it would lock up if you provided more than the default value], and like a rocket this thing got all the way into Windows. I did a quick 4M SuperPI to test and it did it without a hitch. I'm still trying to find the sweet spot on this thing, but I'm afraid my Q9450 is not welcomed on this board, it used to do 450+FSB on the P5E3 Premium before and now it can't even get to 450FSB. I might do an even trade with a co-worker for his brand new E8500.
PS: Anyone know if this board undervolts regular Quads? Even with the droop compensation enabled, and the vCore set to 1.3625v, CPU-Z shows the current voltage at 0.91xx.
I had to skew my X3350 to get past 450 on my Rampage. Got it to 485x8 by skewing with settings of +100 +200.

Well. after reading all of these forums, and having $600 of DDR3-1800, DDR3-1866 and DDR3-1066 all sitting around, I decided to try another Blackops from Newegg. I paid the $34.50 to have it Overnighted so that I can hopefully have fun with it over the weekend.
It sounds like BIOS version P04 addresses a lot of the issues. But, this is, as long as you can originally run at Stock Speeds. Which, my first nightmarish Board, could not do.
It would only run at 50% of the set BIOS CPU and DRAM FSB speeds.
I'll keep you posted on my second attempt with a different board.
AL (The Fonz)
You might give the Beta G25-BIOS a try. P04 solved the Wolfdale issue very nicely while G25 (which is the most recent) addresses
Command Rate (CR) 2 now. After all this I finally managed to run all my different memory modules at their specific clocks. For those who
did not run on previously BIOS, CR2 was the goal.
But still looking for next Beta - hopefully memory divider issues solved then.
Yes I saw G25 also. I've got P04 and G25 downloaded and saved on my USB Flash Drive.
Really wan't this board to work so that I can put in some HD4870XT's when they come out on 6/26, or abouts.
Yes the 4870x2 will be out the end of July or early August. AMD (ATI) is still polishing up the drivers.
But I was just going to get two HD4870's and XFire them.
The HD3870x2 is now going for $269 rebated.
This is my configuration only for my friends of foxconn....
This for low Cas latency Vs. High Fsb on the Cpu with Trd 8 or 7 over 520Mhz
this work with any micron chip on memory module GTR/GTS and JNL
this combination is perfect because using low Vtt, PLL, and DDR3 Voltage.
Bios is 04 for official mainboard.
One note on Trd this is influenced of Cas you used, if youd use cas 7 min tRD phase il 9, if you used cas 6 min trd is 8 with this setting.

yea also i saw improve from g21 , a bit more stable ;)
Need Ram Help on this Blackops. My second one came from Newegg today since my first one would not run faster than 50-60% of the set CPU and DRAM FSB speeds set in BIOS.
The second one runs great. Installed G25 and the E8400 runs at 9x470. However, my good ram will not post. I get E0 and E1 errors.
Well, that's not completely correct. 1 stick of my Super Talent DDR3-1800 will Post. However the other stick will not Post in any Ram Slot and at any DRAM Voltage/NB Voltage set within BIOS.
My Patriot Viper DDR3-1866 gives me an E0 error. Which someone on this forum informed me that to get around this error I will need to have the XMP profile data removed. I'm not going to reflash my Ram.
Therefore what DDR3-1800+ memory are you people using that works right out of the box?
Running it with my cheap $70 OCZ DDR3-1066 sticks in it now.

Fixes QX CPU high Multiplier in Windows Vista Issue
Compliments splmann and Zillapact, very high fsb with x,5 multiplier:clap:
I have tried both G25 and G26 bioses and the multiplier is still stuck on 8x. With my QX6850 ES is working ok but there is not way with this QX9770.
Yes, sure. Bios POST shows the established multiplier but it is not real because every test i have passed shows the stock multiplier. This is not happening with my other QX that is running at 11x.
Well i think I am getting corruption at stock setting now.. I can not play Crysis error message, I am unable to run Everest Ultimate "Invalid floating point operation", and I can not run 3DMARK06 at stock speeds. I re-installed GPU driver etc... I have not really even tried to OC this board yet. Any ideas out there why I am having so much problems. I am on BETA BIOS G26 and P04 both same problems...
bios 04 or G26
memory config? spd is auto or manual?
try this
tcl 7
trcd 6
trd 6
tras 18
trfc 60
performace level 7
twr 21
twtr 18
trrd 4
trtp 4 or 6
all precharge 7or 8
refresh period x1
command clock 1 or 2
all rest to auto
ratio ram 1:4 333
if timing are ok you have possibility to boot until 460Mhz with 1,5volt to NB
memory volt 1,95 for ram 1800 cas7
my guess is you blew a fuse in your cpu :(
high vtt or pll maybe?
if you havent oced it on the blackops yet, could you have damaged it on the board you ran it on before?
is it an old 8500 or a recent one?
the earlier ones seemed to be vcore and heat sensitive while the later ones are quite vcore and heat robust from what ive heard.
Well my memory passes memtest after re-installing Crysis I am now able to play. But I do notice a real lag delay now. Not that this is the mobo fault but I did notice a change in the mobo since I installed SB X-fi on it. So I am starting to think this board is to Xtreme for me...:hehe: It just seems it takes allot to get this board OCed compared to others and it makes me feel like I am trying to learn a second language or something. I am just a NOOB I just wish I could get this thing going... I may send back to egg for a eVGA 790i.. :(
And THANK YOU very much for all the help guys.. I will still keep pushing it to I dial this thing in..
I second that motion to get the CellShock blue kit; they are well worth the $400 price tag IMHO. No issues whatsoever since I popped them in, except for the board still showing the wrong multiplier once in a while. Board is going back this weekend and the replacement should be here later today.
Done :D
I've been burried with work stuff, but below is some data for BIOS setup. I hope it helps some of you guys.

Anyone give me advice please?
I've two of everthing so have been able to do some intial tests, everything is new and just been fired up:-
I have a problem with 1 of the Blackop boards, with the QX6770 in it at stock settings running Everest, 2 of the cores cause prime 95 to fail after arroun 30 seconds or so, Everest fails after 30 seconds and some times runs a litttle longer but then the same cores fail. Temprature is fine. I'm sure this is mobo problem coz the same bits work fine in the other Blackops mobo.
Am I missing some settings to get the mobo stable before oclocking or do you recon this is a duff mobo?
Thanks
My board is up and running now it came with the p02 bios what one should i try G26?
yea G26 is very good to try or G25 ;)
Sorry guys,
anyone knows when Foxconn Dreadnoughts (790i) will be on stock?
Thanks
Yoyotech told me that Dreadnought will be in stock end of next week
Hey Yall,
just a few questions bout this board.. Sham, SF3D... Others .. what kinda Quad Core FSB can be expected out of this board >450 ? i see Kensek with a good 485.. how are we looking here Guys.. what are your experiences? with all due respect to CPU dependancy.
:banana::banana::banana:.. what a mobo.. you gotta be kidding me.. :) lol...
Cool thanks Gautam and Sham for the quick replys.. its starting to seem to me that above 460-470 is about where it stops on the x38/x48 chipsets. yeah the odd CPU+Chipset will get like 480+ but im just wandering why its ALOT harder to get these high FSB's with this chipset when 490-500 seemed (with a little work) achievable on earlier chipsets namely P35. is it the Skew rates, Pl settings, straps, internal timings etc etc something weve just kinda come to see that all revolve around a good bios and a Labyrinth off trying setting to get these clocks. .. its doing my head in  im just tryna figure out where it really stops.. and where to be happy at.. and in the last few weeks its become very evident that a good BIOS is 70% of the issue.
BTW great board Sham and Co... keep those BIOS's coming :D
what size are thread on the barbs for the black ops? 1/4 or 3/8 or? cause ill get my Blac Ops on monday but need some other barbs to fit whit my WC.
I also did some small Tests again with the G27 Bios and a single GTX280 !

Hey guys I think I just lost more board? I think the controller went out? I was trying some OC runs, and after Windows Vista Home Prem x32 restarted. It went thru the normal screens and beeps and went thru the scrolling from left to right (green) windows loading thing. But when it gets to the last WINDOWS LOGO with sounds where windows will load it just resets again.(controller reseting) I tried everything, from cmos resets, battery taken out, power supply unplugged, different BIOSes P04 and G26 and nothing. I still see my RAID -0- in start. I just here it click and it resets and starts over no matter what I do? So I am thinking it is toast and in need of a RMA? Any ideas??
Thanks
good looking board
QX9770 C1 and Blackops no boot, debuger cycles ...99-90 reset...
QX9770 works fine on different mobo and Blackops works (sort of, it boots) with E8600, any ideas ?
Just bought me an Blackops but board will simply not boot at all.
Press power -> gives FF and then after 3 seconds it will shutdown and it will start all over again.
Does the same with different memory or even NO memory at all ....
I also use an QX9770 C1 but as is said i don't see anything other than FF on the hex ....
does anyone know what is this P05 bios, 7A3F1P05? does it fix anything ?
any news on the P05 bios, 7A3F1P05?
Got the board running with another power supply, a broken 8 pin motherboard connector was the reason it didn't boot.
I got the the board running for a very few hours because of this, but i tested a few biosses and for now my favorit is G28 seems more stable than P05 with my 4GB kit :)
Just put the G28 on myself now i have some testing to do.

i just exchanged my giga-:banana::banana::banana: for blackops.
i really dont like gigabyte bios and i felt its clumsiness was inhibiting my potentially golden proc
it's already in the mail so there's nothing i can do now, but i've heard so much intensely mixed sentiment about this board and i feel that there's huge bias and overexaggaration on both sides.
i just want somebody's honest opinion, was ordering this board a mistake?
I wouldn't say it was a mistake. The sheer amount of BIOS options can just be confusing at first and as a result of more options, there is a lot more tweaking required in order to get a stable OC.
There were a few teething problems in the beginning that I think some people are having difficulty with in terms of memory compatibility. I was one of these people in the beginning, but luckily the G28 revision allows me to finally run my OCZ DDR3 at stock speeds. Which is great because it was dirt cheap memory that I don't have to replace.
I am not a seasoned OC'ing vet, but am reasonably competent. I got one of these boards a few days after they became available in the UK and with the early BIOS it took me almost an entire day to get a stable OC of about 3.4GHz. I was extremely dissapointed. However I stuck with it and continued to torture my E8400 finally able to get it to 3.7GHz. I assumed that it was the memory incompatibility holding me back and I was still dissapointed:mad:. However G28 came along and solved my problems. Well sort of. I have a duff early E8400 so can only push 3.87 out of it stable and I am pumping a hell of a lot of volts through it as it is a dissapointing early first batch.
I think with reflection that the board is a good board. I have spoken with another person in depth who also uses this motherboard, and they also suffered from the early memory incompatibility problems but I think they are also reasonably pleased with it now as well. I'm well happy with mine and wouldn't consider swapping it for any other model. The only complaint I have that Foxconn still haven't addressed is the ally top on the northbridge block.
Still, my last motherboard was a P5W DH Deluxe:down: so the Black Ops isn't exactly facing any stiff competition when going after my heart.
My issue with the board is it not changing timings when I change them in bios, but I'm still working through the bioses. Otherwise it does exactly as it should, and feels damn fast after P45.
Yeah, that's the plan for tonight. I've got many sticks of ram and there are many bioses, so I like to try each with each ram and see how the bioses progress. I'm pretty happy with what I have seen so far!
Good plan... I do believe all the memory issues were actually resolved (at least the ones raised in the other thread) so hopefully you will be sailing soon.
It's really nice to not have TM2 issues with some of my cpus as I was with pretty much every other board out there....you could really hurt some hardware with this thing!:explode2:
thanks, i feel better after that.
that's what i want out of a board, one where every last thing has to be tweaked and controlled by me.
but i gotta say, i'm impressed with this gigabyte board. now that i'm RMAing it i'm cranking volts with impunity, and i even got it to POST at 490 FSB.
Just got the board last night. finished a graphics card mod, then popped it all it.
Uuummm, I know I don't entirely unterstand this board yet from the 30 minutes I spend with it before going to sleep, but in the litle voltage tweaking I did I could not get the cpuz reading of my voltage to break 1.0v I set cpu target voltage to 1.4 and cpuz read 0.88 idle and 0.95 at load. I could keep trying to up it, but I'm very wary about setting cpu voltage to 2+ in BIOS to achieve an actual of 1.3.
HELP.
Welcome to softwarerrors...you need a multimeter or use aegis panel for voltage measure, cpu-z does not work.
oh god. well, I have both, but trust neither. i don't trust aegis because it's the board man.'s software, and my DMM is really old and I wouldn't be sure where to put it to measure CPU voltage.
so you're saying BIOS may be delivering reliable voltage, and yet it's still not booting me at higher clocks? that's an even scarier prospect. honestly, i couldve lived with being stuck at 3.2ghz and 0.8v, but if this board just can't take my q9450 to 3.8 like on my gigabyte board just cos it doesnt want to...?! is it the board that cpuz isnt compatible with? people with QX's seem to get reasonable voltage measurements in cpuz?
I acutally found that I get the exact some clocks..but you must be aware that most boards are overvolting cpuPLL and FSB volts, while this board seems not to, and hence it being held back. Also, you give up some FSB on this board for more efficient performance, so this must be taken into account too...because any real problem I had with other boards have been solved..TM2 and C1E works properly, and is properly disabled when you disable it...no other single board can do this that I have seen, mind you tihs only affects extreme clocking, and not 24-7 clocking...the inclusion of the bench table should have clued most inthat this board is meant for ebnching, and as such, you give up some reliability.
so i could try increasing cpuPLL. FSB volts i find don't do much, at least in my clock range. i was just taken aback by the glaring warnings it gave with PLL, i wouldnt have expected this kind of board to be so consciencious about BIOS voltages.
There has to be warnings for those that do not know what they are doing. You CAN BREAK HARDWARE with this board, where other boards would not...turning off thermal throttle will kill ALOT of cpus...but for benching, this is really needed! 24/7 it's not!
CPU-z problem is a known one, Slovnaft, it doesn't report the voltage correctly. The voltage showing beside the "current voltage" field in the BIOS is correct.
Hi! All
just back from i34 and was talking to the foxconn people there
the latest version of Aegis Panel is 1.0.2.32 http://www.quantum-force.net/downloa...Panel10232.zip and for the temp readings to work correctly you need bios version p05
p05 is bios version g28 + a few extra updates
it is available here http://www.foxconnchannel.com/support/downloads.aspx
i have flashed to p05 and have no issues with it - This is the bios they were using for the new E8600 and all their overclocking with LN2
