Black acetal all the way :) It would also be more robust and less risk of cracking (sorry for being a bit paranoid :p).
I'm lucky to have both tops when I bought my FC8800 GTS so I can try it but for 20$, it's worth getting the acetal version.
Hmmmm....I've got the acetal EK FC 8800GTX block, and would prefer the acrylic one. We could trade, but I won't be home for about 10 days to ship it to you :( . (I've actually got a spare one ... never been used, as I haven't hooked up my second card).
ACETAL is it then!!!!
I just buy the acetal top yeah? i don't need to get a whole new block right?
10days is abit long for me to wait :( soz shazza i won't my rig finished by then.... :)
I know. I want to see your rig finished too!Quote:

Pretty darn good looking m8! Keep them coming! God i dig those EK NB\SB WBs. They look sick! I just got my MCW30 and i think that both looks awful seeing how good looking those EKs looks :p:
Looks very very nice so far. Can´t wait to see the finished System :)
Keep the Acrylic. BTX means you CAN see the liquid inside, and that's way cool ;)
You've spent so much already so it seems like abit of a waste of money imo. It still blends in anyway with all the other EK blocks.
i have already payed it for it.... :( so i may aswell use it now...
I don't $20 to set my finance's back to hard anyways...
cheers all...
Looking to finished by next w/e if all goes well..
will update everyone in the mean time
Wish me Luck :)
edit: after trying both the acetal and acrylic tops i think the acrylic one suits my build more so i used that one and sold that acetal top to a mate :)
nice and clean build m8, lemme ask you what are those three fans on your mobo, and is it aftermarket or does it come with a certian brand mobo?
Hey all!!!
Sorry for lack of update's :( (due to not having a camera atm)
But i have been busy with my rig very busy :)
I did all my cut/drilling action etc
Install hardware/routed tubing for all 3 loops :)
All 3 loops filled now and leak testing them as i type this...
I got my camera back and i will be finish my rig hopefully tomorrow!!!!
Woohoo!!!!

well finally some updates....
more please, hehehe...
Hey! It's afternoon in Australia - where our those updated photos ?????
:)
What model res is that?
 Not 100% sure but it looks like a --> Danger Den Single 5 1/4" Bay Reservoir { linky }
oh that sounds bad. mayb you went too much overclock on the getgo?
good luck finding the solution, it must be something you forgot... hopefully all goes well...
i really hate tracing down them BSOD causes...
it's not my memory i ran memtest without any error's
Still getting bsod's?
no :) have fixed the problem mate!!!
will be posting pics as soon as i find a adapter for the charger that came with my cannon s3 is...
I purchased it from america so it does'nt use the same power pin :(
any1 know where i can get one??
re the camera power adapter ... easiest thing to do is just get a US---> Australia plug adapter. Generally available for less than $10. Double check to make sure your charger accepts 110-220V power (most do).
You can probably also order a spare charger from one of the camera stores in OZ - may even be able to find just the cord to plug in at :banana::banana::banana: Smith's or somewhere like that (I know you can get cords for laptop chargers, not sure about smaller stuff like cameras).
i'm using a canon charger i have a adpater for my mobile i tried that but didn
t fit :( so i'm going to have a look around today see what i can find...
hopefully i won't need a canon adapter just any old one
cheeers
oops, maybe I'm misunderstanding. But, if you just want to plug the charger in the wall, something like this should work:

BTW, glad you solved your BSOD problem.
Best tip for computer pix is, use natural light as much as possible. On camera flash just causes too many reflection probs with surfaces of the type involved
Use a tripod if you find problems with the natural light levels being too low inside the case.
@Disrupt'
Like Shazza said, richard Smiths should have a travel type conversion plug that'd do the job, or Downtown Duty Free would.
Downtown D/F carry a range that has a conversion unit to match each combination each way. Like US to Japanese or Australian to US or US to Australian. Each one only does one job but that keeps the cost quite low.
I've got one here somewhere. If I can dig it out I'll post the brand name, later.
looking forward to it :)
Spotted a converter at PC Case Gear for $8.50 here.
cheers mate!!! nice find!!
UPDATE:
got some pics for you all!!!!
Only things i have left to do are cable management and finished with my door cutting adding/mesh etc.... ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!

yeah almost @ the end of the road septim!!! now my rig is up and running i have a harder time trying to finish lol to much catching on games etc
Mesh over the front would look great. All three res colours showing through it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...sh_525B_01.jpg
All your effort has payed off. Looks great.
Runs great too?
Looks insanly nice disruptfam
What temps do you get?
Three loops are quite overkill :D
regards
cheers mate !!! im very happy with the look!!!! :D its overkill yes but i like overkill lol
temps are abit high..due to high ambients... 28c-35c
q6600 (b3) @ 3.2ghz 1.30v w/fuzion nozzled quad split nozzle
42c idle 55load
xfx 8800gtx @ stock speed gpu 42c gpu diode 50c load 46 c diode 55c
mcp 36c :) dont know any temps monitors that monitor nb and vrms lol
cheers
i like the idea!! might give it a try :)
over a terra!!! stop making me jealous!!!
i only have on a 150gb raptor (os) and 400gb (storage) i'm getting a 500gb soonish...
i only have 1 spot for hd's left... idk if i should get a 1tb hd hmmm (there expensive)
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...dpcpics086.jpg
If you ever get desperate for more space, I've got a spare couple of drive cages. Turn one upside down and hang it forward in front of your rads.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...HDDRACK_01.jpg
yeah that would be good but i didn't want do any more drilling modding... lol
:)
i think a 1tb drive should suffice :)
cheers mate
1 TB lots of freedom there. i just think that with all torrent downloading i'am doing atm, i sometimes forgot that my 500GB is full, 50MB left popped up in my face more than once...
jedda, me thinks he is saving that spare bottom case space if he does go 4 loops, hehehehe...
Yes, in a couple of months when the bug bites again.
Watercool the dvd drives? lol :)
Kickass build disruptfarm, and nice pictures! :) I'm jealous over here. LL cases = hotness.
I thought you went with the acetal top for the FC8800 block ??
Seeing acrylic with purple coolant is a bit weird ;)
That EK-680-1 looks lonely.
Got to get it some lovin'
cheers rx7boricua!!!! v2000 is a awesome case!!! yeah some of the pics turned out real nice :)
Xilikon i decided to go with the acrylic top... i actually like the look :D
yeah jedda!!!! !! awesome
cheers all!
kickass build man.
you know 3 loops is overkill, but meh, dont we all overkill when it comes to computers.
grats
Insane loop man, you should be proud looks expensive!!
I gotta say though, i'm pretty dissapointed with the CPU temperatures for such a small overclock and low vcore :( maybe you should get a G0?
Turned out nice, cool colours!
That's OK. You're going to have to take it all apart anyways when you stup up to a 780i, RIGHT!?!?!?
I have to say. I really like those EK chipset blocks you have. I got rid of my 680i so I could go Yorkfield and now I miss it. I wa just kinda mad at nVidia all together after the whole incedent.
great work
pretty
Nice Job ... really like the way it turned out, disruptfam!
looking forward to it.
 :D
awesome work mate, how much did this all cost in total?
I try not to add the total up..... :D
q6600 8800gtx 4gb ram 3 wc loops etc etc adds up
i can say i didnt pay full retail price for most of my gear...i got alot of bargain/discounts and selling off old pc gear to pay for this pc...
so i really didnt spend that much....
very nice mod :)
Lian Li v2000 Modding rocks :)
Feichti
sorry about lack of pics guys...
iam on holidays atm... :) wont be back for week or so.....
:)
and then he'll get the itch for the 4th loop... hehehe
ok im back from holidays...
over the past week or so that i have been gone... my pc has built up alot of dust!! lol....
any tips on cleaning it out????
I read somewhere canned air or whatever its called is good...?
It is but you can go through a few cans.
Some are higher pressure and more air than others. The Jaycar cans are good. D'Smith not so good.
I use a compressor but it needs to be oil and water droplet free in its output. So its a normal compressor with outlet traps or an oil-free type. Don't let your fans spin free. It'll kill the bearings.
I think you'd be better off with the dual core, it doesn't get as hot as a quad.
I also think that you won't notice to much a difference in speed if you clocked it up to 3.8
And swapping out a cpu shouldn't effect the os, you may have to do an update of some sort but it shouldn't be any problem.
You've done a great job on this project mate!!
But I want final pics... NOW!!!! :hehe:
Probably. I only have a quad because I render a lot and thats the only developed multi-thread soft atm.
In a year, games will take advantage of multi-threading but multi-tasking is the only other area of quad advantage currently and a dual core does that well anyway.
I've both E6600 and Q6600 here and am only using the quad 'cause its a box for 3D modeling and graphic work primarily. If I was still flying flight sims, instead of making them, it'd have the E6600 in for sure.
It's looking fantastic, looks tidy and the concept is pretty extreme. Really giving the itch for the PC343B to be finished.
It does look good, doesn't it.
Your's is like mine, Mekrel.
Closer it gets to completion, the slower it goes! lol
cheers all....i'll swap out my cpu tonight then :)
thanks for nice comments guys.....
i'll get them pics to youse asap....i'm capped atm so its gonna take a ages to upload them all :(
It comes to something when someone can buy the same case as you 6+ months after and have it set up before you, ~aoe~ managed to do that lol.
I'm a perfectionist, that's my problem. Tom @ ChilledPC is always listening to me moan about how I so want my rig to be finished, and he suggests ways around me waiting for different things yet I always refuse because it needs to be perfect. :ROTF:
disruptfam, what camera did you use to take those last pictures? They look great
cannon s3 Is
potrait mode, 1600x 1200 res, fine, 200 iso
I've figured out some better (Manual) settings since i took those pics
So new pic's will look alot better...
turned up the res toned down the iso... etc etc
Dissrupt'
You see that multi-colour anodising effect they have? The TJ-07 you mentioned is one case where all the internals remove easily. Just crying out to be done like that with black and red or blue. With a black exterior and multi internals it'd look great!
Woopsadasie :ROTF:
