That's a nice vcore for a ccb6f yeah. BTW, did you learn anything about the vdroop issue? Saw you asked at vrzone too.
@ Badnizze: looking forward for some awsome oc's from your 6400+ ;)

nice deal.
Love the way you'repriming away in the backround there msi.
Just started testing my 6400+, primed thru night at 3360mhz, @ 1,45 -> testing some mhz at 1,43V know. Stepping is CCB8F 0718 MPMW, Booted win and did runr prime for a coupple of mins @ 3450 with 1,43 ;) I have probelms with coretemp, keeps crashing my system... So no temps as of now... Must get to work know!
why the hell i didnt receive any notification about this thread??
anyway, good results. have anyone played with drive strenghts?

Nice clon22. Do you have the rest of your stepping? What's your max oc? Getting them beyond 3.3GHz without having to up your voltage drastically is usually the problem with these.
Yah, thats the problem...
This is my proc :

Highest, still under 3.6ghz.
It can boot even @ 3.7ghz but @ 3.6,
it juz fails to load into windows... :p
hehe I wouldn't call that a 'problem' clon, It's a CPU arch stretched beyond it's limits. I haven't seen a signle chip do 3.4 on stock volts so don't fret.
These chips are amazing for a K8 so just be content with that.
It hit home how far these things have somehow managed to come as far as clocks go when I started OCing an E6750 on the weekend as part of a competition. It fell over at 3.35gig and 1.35v and i felt a sense of "oh crap, i've got a bad chip/batch, just what i need" Then realised, no it's actually quite normal, but just 6mths ago it was a case of Core 2 scaling much further on stock volts than ANY K8 I was subconciously expecting some miracle frequency before it fell over.. it kind of made me realise that if it wern't for the fact K8 is a slug in comparion clock/clock they would be really quite attractive :)
The key difference here though is that core 2 scales with voltage beyonf that point like a dream, whereas the old SOI just won't.
Ok, here's the specs. :)

Hey Guys,
Sorry for the slow reply. My DFI 590 died.. so Its going to RMA. In the mean time I put my EVGA 590 board back on the bench, and it actually performed relaly well with the 6400.
The only annoyance is that this CPU isn't recoginzied by the bios.. its says "Unknown"
While I was tweaking the system last night, I ran Nucleus Multicore, and here is my results:
Score: 10319
http://www.ironmods.com/ForumImages/...ore_10319b.jpg
Since the BIOS doesn't recognize the CPU, it shows up as unknown in CPUZ. CoreTemp was able to identify the processor, and you can see the speed via Clockgen. Hopefully the checksum will be adequate to show this is a legit score.
I will try to get an SPi32 MB in the 18min this weekend.
Stay tuned.

I have to say, these chips are amazing. I have a 3800+ CCBVF. 10hrs stable at 3150 (315*10) 1.42 vcore with a BT. I can boot and validate at 3350, but still not at 3400. I went up to 1.61 vcore, so I may try a bit higher to do a suicide. Not bad for an open box CPU for $57 :)

Best @ tight timings ( DDR2-1142 4-4-4-6 @ 4Ghz)
The reason I havent been SS'ing with CPU+mem tabs is for some reason when I'd open the 2nd CPU-Z the system would shut down, and i'd lose it all! this happend twice before I gave up on that. So I did that run just to show memory timings.
No idea why it started doing that, only does it in the cold (near coldbug) it seems, as I never had the problem before that I can remember, very odd.
Tomorrow is DFI 590Time! Pushing my Ballitix to 450-480 3-3-3-8 with 2,6-2,7vdimm ;) Hoping for 500 cas 3 under 3v....
Looking forward for your results BadNizze
Got my DFI 590SLi up and running now, so far i have not done any serios benches. Trying to find my 24/7 setting for know. 300*11 @ 1,44idle\1,424 load. My only concern soo far DFI is, WHY did you remove the bulit in memtest WHY? Will uppdate with screens as soon as i gett up in the morning!

Agreed, Ramclock ftw with AM2, BUT it's still about finding the balance at the higher clocks.. since with the ballistix as you can see I can achieve CAS 4 as high 570, but Cas 5 doesn't yeild much higher.. anything over 600 a no go unfortunatly. so in this case it goes without saying CAS 4 is the winner.
Did as you guys told my upped my dividers to 266mhz wich will give me around 733mhz effectiv. Saved and exit bios, rebboted and know i canīt enter bios. I can boot in to win, and Iīm typing from that same machine know. But I cant enter bios, If i press "Delete" at post all i get is black screen... Any Idees? Donīt get me wrong, I DO NOT BALME ANYONE! Need Help!
Hmmm i use my (DEL) key to go into Bios...and sometimes a real biG:hammer:Your may have to clear CMOS.....BUT First try turning system on / off three times with out going into windows boot, wait about 5-10seconds between each cycle and on the third time after it cycles on with single beep, then press and hold the (del )key till it enters Bios... If anything i would say its memory related you will most likely have to reset CMOS....Always make shure the Power is off unpluged during a CMOS Clear,It is so easy to do even ...... i just pictured that stupid caveman comercial, crap. It only takes a sneeze to ruin a good Bios Chip while putting that 1-2 pin short back on..
Hope that helps...
Tryd clering cmos a coupple of tims, and also tryd a new batteri for my mobo. Tryd One stick in slot closest to cpu, still not shure if it´s memory realted or a bad board... Can´t boota windows either know...
that indeed looks crazy..
btw, try slot 3&4, at least mine sometimes dont boot or acts weird in 1&2, and also clocks lower
Make shure the Bios is for updated CPU 6400+....For the DFImobo...its probally not the problem . I just thinking of the lil things one may overlook.
Also are you using Sata with raid? maybe the windows install may be corrupt...you could try the windows repair option off the CD @bootup...
Sometimes when ive Overclocked ive managed to corrupt my files pushing the memory too far , even the CPU/memory controller can cuase corruption ....The Bios problem is wierd in that it would boot to windows but not the BIOS...
As a last resort i would pull everything out..Start over Even take the CPU out ,remove cmos battery then reinstall all hardware/Double check all power connections... Usually it should boot with bios defaults after fresh hardware reinstalation ,unless the BIOS Chip/Mobo is the faulty componet:shakes:
You could also try with a spare PSU , i really dont think its power related ,but you never know what to expect when pushing Overclocks and your PSU...
ALSO NOTE: I know this one is off the wall but it got me before and almost made me RMA my mobo..Try upplugging the DVI monitor cable from video card and reconnecting it ,then unplug the powercord to monitor for 20seconds.. After 20seconds plug it back in then boot it up ,now try going into bios....Sometimes a monitor/Videocard can Black screen the bios functions by not intializing the display @bootup...youll get black screen @bootup untill windows executes the driver or even while trying to enter bios .
If you do not enter the bios and you just let windows start , it would most likely load the videoCard driver and initialize the display at start up but not in the Bios....My 8800gts did this a few times while installing new updated driver and had me scratching my head for a while..Because i had unplugged my DVI with out unplugging my moniter:shakes:
Make shure you always unplug the monitor/power cord before you unplug the DVIcable at the video card ...This has happened too me every time i disconnect my DVI connector to my 8800GTS with out unplugging the monitor!!!...It would prevent my videocard from displaying the BIOS at bootup..(Showing only a Black Screen)..I have found that when ever a DVI cable is disconnected from the video card and the monitor isnt unplugged ,the monitor/VideoCard may not reset itself..So make shure you unplug the monitor for 20seconds after a DVI cable has been unpluged from the VideoCard/or when ever you have pulled the Video card out of its slot.:yepp: I never used to unplug monitor ,now i always unplug it! If i dont the 8800 wont display untill windows loads the driver...:yepp:
I hope you can understand what im talking about with the whole DVI/monitor thing and GoodLuck, keep us posted:up:
This is my 24/7 clock, 100% stable (orthos and occt)
Im still working hoping for 3.4 stable but orthos is failing about 2 minutes in  my highest so far is 3.48 benchmark stable and i can't find my problem causing me not to boot at 3.5.. yet
X2 5600+ 3.33ghz @ 1.425v (bios)
idle: 27*c
Load: 46*c
Specs in sig
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...ths1hr333b.jpg
Your Orthos may be failing because it is underpowered/lack of Vcore at 3.3ghz and higher. This can also cause more heat to build when the Cpu dosnt have enuff Vcore to function correctly under load as in Prime/Orthos. The CPU to NB should also be set to 1.3v-1.35v which will help with the MemoryController functions.... The higher your OverClock the more the chip will demand Vcore for the OnChip Memory Controller,Especially if your memory is highly overclocked!..Vcore is what stabalizes the memory controller for the most part when exceeding 3.3ghz..On my first 5600+ i discovered uping the Vcore helps the memory controler be more stable . It also allows the memory to be OverClocked higher when using higher memory dividers too...Just make shure your 9500 can handle the heat...Ive looked into this alot and ive seen 1.56vcore used on 5600+'s with the propper cooling 24/7...
I would suspect HEAT as your main concern if you are going for 3.5GHZ....If you are still running the Zalman 9500 ,the 5600+ will start to max the 9500's 90mn Fan cooling potential @3.4ghz to 3.48ghz...Also if you Lap the Zalman and the IHS ,then maybe use some MX2paste .You will have better odds in your favor. Apply it very thin .. This will help you alot....I used to use (As5 )and now the MX2 is 5c cooler/idle and averaged 10c cooler under load...So i now use MX2 only. The 5600+ @3.3ghz and up requires a verygood cooling solution and the Vcore will most likely scale like this...With MX2 and Thermalright 120x I remounted....10times with Non lapped/IHS/hatsink and 10x with IHS/Heatsink lapped ..Then i did the same for my 6000+ on water and it scaled about the same ,just a lil hotter..
Note:5600+ 89watt and 6000+125watt scale about the same but the 6000+=MoreHeat, even more so with just Aircooling! The temps and Vcore will be a little lower under waterCooling and depends on your overall systemTemp/roomtemp.
3.3ghz= 1.38-1.42v
3.4ghz= 1.42-1.49v
3.45ghz= 1.50-1.53v
3.5ghz= 1.53-1.63v
^This would be the Max with a fairly new silocon 5600+ im talking a CCB8F-(0728 upto 0732 week chip)xxMW...5600+@3.48ghz is increadibly good for 90mn...You will need to keep it cool, My 6000+ being 125watts runs 3.5ghz with out a sweat @1.58vcore...It is a real HEatMonSter compared to My 5600+ which ran @3.42ghz@1.51vcore under a ThermalrightExtreme 120 . Also the thermalright was the best cooler i have ever used for Air setup... I sold it only because i was Ocing my 6000+ to 3.6ghz and did not want any chance of exess heat in my case with a 8800GTS overclocked as well...
Also do you have both cores enabled when task manager is open? You should have AMD DualCore Optimizer Driver Installed....I say this because when its not installed Speedfan sometimes wont read both cores. Id double check it,just press (CTRL ALT DEL )to bring up Task Manager and make shure it shows two cores running under the Performance Tab:up:
I have pci/pcie lock, disabled spectrums, and lowerd ht to x4
No matter the voltage i can't get stable at 3.4, to get 3.48 i need 1.55-75v. Its 100% stable 3330mhz at 1.425v. max temps at 1.55ish volt was about 50c.
With the lock and ht link low, i wouldn't think the nb/sb voltage would be the problem. I lowered the memory to 667 @2.1v so when oc'ed its a little over 800mhz
I don't know why im compaining, alot of people can't get stable over 3.1 :p:
Id suspect heat is starting to give you a problem @3.4ghz and vcore of 1.51v...thats right about where it would be for that high of a Oc depending on the Heat ..
Its probally building heat under load and failing Orthos ecttra...Some how id try and get your temps down some more .... 3.3ghz 24/7 is very respectable....take your time ,check your temps running SuperPi @1m with coretemp open...It should be like 35c-41c with a 9500 while only using 50%core ussage
The CPU to NB voltage can affedt the oc above 3.3ghz.. What happens is that the CPU demands more for the memory controller when above 3.3ghz and you would usually have to give the CPUtoNB alil more juice to compensate for this
Also what CPU divider are you using and what is the FSB setting
l@@K my 5600+ running 3000HT @3.3ghz 11x300FSB!!!! this is one of the older 5600+'s a week 0721 XPMW... This is on my Thermalright with 25c Ambiant Room temp.

Cool, thanks for all the info man. If i ever get a WC system i might give it another try. But 46*c load at 3.33ghz @ 1.425v sounds good to me. Im happy with it. :)
Edit: i have tried 12/13/and 14 multi's and with the current clock x13 seems to level everything out nicely

Heat is youre problem, This suckers realy put out ALOT of it. Over 3,3Ghz and 1,45 is HOT HOT HOT ;) I think 3,3-3,4 stable is realy pushing it for 90nm also. Iīt can be done thoug! Keep trying!
haha, yeah heat is going to be my problem.. i'll stick with 3330mhz since this chip is going to need to last a while to come :yepp:
Nice one Lightman! What voltage are you running it at? Cpu-z reading right?
My own 6000+ now seems stable @3400MHz @1,35v!! That's below stock voltage. Seems like it's been burned in. Will run some stresstesting to confirm. It's stable when playing and running benchmarks at least.
@ThatGuy16: What's your stepping?
@ThatGuy16
I've tested it using Everest Stability Test for 30minutes only. I wanted to play Marks and save my MSI PWM's :p:
@LIKMARK
CPU-Z is reading right, but for full stability I needed 1.56V, because voltage delivery is very unstable and periodically is dropping to 1.48V!!
In other words I need new mobo  !
Impressive to have 3.4GHz at only 1.35V! I must try that with mine then... ;)
My Crosshair too vdroops about 0,05v at load... annoying..
Hi guys! Just reqested an RMA for my DFI 590SLI, My DFI 570Ultra is running stron again so i was my mobo that was bad, I did not even reinstall windows :) Also I orderd a new toy today... http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=339838 A have to wait to weeks for it thoug...

well   at myself
i played some Voltage_to_megahurtz game to find theese max freq:
242*13=3145@1.31V 898mem 4-4-4-10
243*13=3159@1.37V 902mem 4-4-4-10
244*13=3172@1.39V 906mem 4-4-4-10
it looks horrible to say at least.
so, i dropped the timings a little, say 4-5-5-12 and its stable at 0.05V less
weird you think?
so before 3172@1.39V mem 906@4-4-4-10
nowstable 3172@1.34V mem 906@4-5-5-12
i puzzled with this long time, why it would not oc higher than that. mem timings are the answer.
Strange is that the mem is stable to 480@4-4-4-10 with brisbane cpu
i'll see how hight it will go now
not much of an update...

1.425 for 3.33ghz is pretty good indeed
what are your temps?
hi this its my first post i show my oc im new and i want to learn more
http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/7021/dibujogk3.jpg
welcome oruga. nice clocks for a beginner for sure. congrats and enjoy :)
Indeed you have every chance of 3ghz on stock hsf providing you have nice low temps. Your cpu (as with most other A64's) will handle upto 1.55v np so long as you have good temps. If you wanna ensure lower temps and perhaps increase your OC even further beyond 3ghz then I'd suggest looking into a third-party HSF designed to give very low temps (for air).
Also, which memory are you using, DDR2-667 or 800?
Keep in mind, later brisbane cores do NOT like vcore. Anything over 1.45 produces serious heat, and barely any more OCability due to the extra heat. Smartest move is to keep the voltage below 1.45 and see what it can achieve.
My 4800+ brissy does 3.1 on around 1.4v IIRC, which is pretty decent. I should test it out properly.
welcome oruga. :)
But this thread is for Windsor F3.
i use a pair of ddr2 corsair vr ddr2 667 ON asus m2n-e i cant reach in the bios de v.dim of 1.95 cause its the limit for this mobo !
corsair its a decent a cheap memory i reach in my old e4300 3.5 ghz whit that memory i thinking to buy a new cooler like ultrarigth or blue orb 2 for eye candy jajjaja !
i donta have a good vga i have a x300 i wanna buy one but ?
8600gt (cheap for wait better options ) actual options i play in a resolution of 1280x1204 aa and fsaa high detalis its i want 8800gts - 8800gt or ? x2950pro or x3000 dunno the next code of ati for gpus ! sorry for the multy asks and the off topic !
An 8600GT/S will do you proud, unless you can afford to dig a little deeper and go 8800GTS 320MB or a GTX if you've got piles of spare cash. You'd be advised to hang fire though as a lot of new models are gonna make an appearance in early Nov (8800GT...new 8800GTS).....so best to hang off if you can.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
imho 8600GT is very good option, if OCed, and that should be "a must" here anyway, it can keep good fps on my 1680*1050 screen.
just played through EUF campain in SupCom with decent settings. Any shuttering in late stages, when dealing with ~1000 units was eliminated by stopping Boinc service lol...

Couldn't find a CCB8F in Bulgaria, but I happy with this one anyway. :D
Very good result Neverine  !
My previous X2 was also CCB6F and it clocked virtually same as yours. It could boot up to 3.3GHz but stability was good only below 3.2GHz.
Thanks :)
When I have some more time I'll try to squeeze some more MHz, but it seems the 8Fs are 'a lil' better...
btw I had some troubles running a CellShock DDR2 800 CL4(GMH based) on the system - it wouldn't post @ 1080 5-5-5-15 2.4V, despite the fact it was pretty stable @ 1066 4-4-4-12 2.4V and 1066 5-5-5-15 2.2-2.3V. A friend of mine also had problems running a D9 based SuperT on X2 3800+. Is the IMC working properly with D9 chips and if not - can you recomend me some RAM ? :)
Great results on a CCB6F Neverine, you're on the list :)

Hi,
I have a X2 6000+ on a Crosshair and is really giving me a headache trying to OC' it, I'm starting to think that either is a problem with the Mobo or the settings.
Sometimes it stays stable at 3.4GHz, others crashes only at 3.2GHz. It isn't a CPU temperatures problem cause they never go above 45º, I think it's the Mobo instability in Voltage.
Some info:
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...d/Default2.jpg
Could someone with a system similar as mine post the complete settings of the BIOS? So that I can't compare them or try them if they are different to some of myne, I'm really going nuts with this.
Thanks.
EDIT: Sorry if this wasn't the right thread to post this request but this one was in wich I found more info with systems similar to mine.
If anyone decides to take the time to answer me and don't want to post here, please feel free to send the info in a pm.:)
for HTL maybe u can lower a bit, then try to add sum vcore..
mind to attach ur ram tab (cpuz)
Got myself X2 6400+ CCB8F 0732MPMW
http://img180.imagevenue.com/loc5/th...ed_122_5lo.JPG
Crysis stable @ 3400mhz with def vcore.
Orthos sbable @ 3200mhz with 1.325v
Strange thing is that programs show core1 much cooler than core0 and its vcore is always 1.2v
maybe theres a bug and core1 runs only @ 1.2v?
VcoreA and B are not from core 0&1 respectively as in every K8 chip the Vcore is the same for both cores on die.
i would trust cpuz in this case.
maybe a bad die to ihs or ihs to hsf contact?
anyway, its really nice speed for 1.328V
maybe bad ihs but i doubt that core1 is 22c @ idle:p:
edit: running orthos @ 1.3v now :)

1.3v from bios, orthos runs just fine
I know it goes higher, but I like low volts.
low voltage is just a number; high frequency is something I can relate to :hehe:
I like low volts as well, especially because I can see on my KillAWatt how it affects power consumption.
For everyday use my Rig is taking 150-200W in normal usage and around 340W when gaming. If I want absolute max from it then welcome to 400W area :hehe:!
My personal best was touch of 700W when Cross Firing some 3DMark06 :yepp:
Hi!
I have 2 X2 5200+, both are F3 but the steppings are CCB6F 0710UPMW and CCB6F 0712UPMW.
I'll be testing with MSI K9A2 Platinum 790FX next week. What can I expect from this CPUs?
Thanks!!
Hopefully they will oc to 3GHz ++ the 5200+ is one of the best! Post your results when you're done :)
just for fun :)

Welcome dblooi. Nice SP1M!! Wich stepping you got? Awsome oc on thet board too! That actual vcore cpu-z showing?
EDIT: The fx55 score is a bug, the actual score is 2601,67MHz: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=125901
hi likmark:D ,
Batch Code is 0736 GPMW :ROTF:
actual vcore is showing in SS, 1.7v
CPU-Z 1.41 has no issue in reading correct vcore
FX55 actually did make it to 7GHz (But how he make it , i hv no idea:ROTF: ),
The cpu-z server has bug on this,
when u click on the [detail] , it shows the 1st attempt of the user instead of showing the actual result.
Try to click on mine, you won't see the 3.9GHz result as well:D
I see, found something else too :D
nice score .. congrats..
New toys bought today. :)
