My max FSB is 525 in a C2D E6300 and E6600.

YES, commando, striker, their entire 975x series. Theres PLENTY of threads here, in this section alone, to prove this. Asus may be the first to market, thats fine. However, they drop support for boards that are screwed from the get go ( P5W-DH anyone? ). You will spend months just to resolve issues that should of been caught in QC testing. Asus has taken over where MSI left off in the AMD days... First to market, last to get it working right. Than the price gouging on top of that.
HOLY SH**  :woot: :woot:
I think the EVGA's bios update let the quads go up to 400MHz FSB...not 475!
Come on DFI. Get this out the door!
now we're talking
there is nothing like a little competition... go go EVGA :woot:
Ummmmm....did You Read His Post Right?
Spoke with William Yang @ DFI today, said to keep an eye on NewEgg towards the end of next week, beginning of the next, 45 pieces will be made available.
I wouldn't exactly get excited about Oskar's quad core results... It's not even a 200MHz overclock! Part of the problem, as I understand it with high overclocks on the quad is stable current delivery... this doesn't prove anything in that regard other than the chipset can clock well. What would be more interesting is if they can get 400MHz+ on a 9 multi. Then you've got something to talk about and prospective (or current) Q6600 owners can rejoice.
I'm as keen as anyone to see this board be a star overclocker for quad's but let's see some more testing.
egg wll sell out in probably 1 - 2 hours
i agree with your 400 fsb is a nice thing to attain for most quad owners...there are some who are getting that or slightly better...i can get it but i have to supply a high amount of vcore...i am uncomfortable doing that on air...maybe if i had a ice box for a cooler, i might be a little more confortable.
Err... they've already launched the 680i LT

Dear Guido,
Thanks for you are interesting on P965-S. It will be available in German market after May 3th, for your reference.
Please contact DFI dealer there.

lol ur right...apparently i have been living under a rock. but weird thing is that when the newest bios came out for evga 680i it removed a lot of features from bios, link boost for instance. and after looking the specs of this new 680i LT there really does not seem to be any difference between the two.
If the amount is correct then it's what I have expected. This will probably be a top motherboard and considering the other ones out at this time that pricing isn't exactly outrageous.
My last 6 motherboards have all been Asus and perhaps I just got lucky, but they were far superior in reliability than any other board clients had me install in systems I built for them.
I will agree though that they are not the greatest overclockers due to the lack of the countless options available in the bios' of DFI boards, but They just seem to work very well for me.
That said, i'm moving up to an E6600 or perhaps a Quad intel chip soon.... and i'll most likely throw my hat in and get one of these new DFI 680i boards. They look very promising and the capabilities just seem endless!
Asus has been good to me as of late.
E6300 and E6600, the best numbers so far have come from the E6420, but will save those for the release date.
I really like the board, actually a lot better than my P965 Infinity experiences to date (wish some of the early "pushers" around here would try to post overclocked CrossFire results or let's see those Quad numbers, hint hint if you're looking for issues besides death by flex).
I think DFI has done a very good job with the 680i LT board. It still needs some BIOS tuning but what DFI board does not at release. ;) I think DFI was right to use the LT chipset, for a variety of reasons, most of which cannot be discussed (setting you up to wonder statement). :D Back to AM2 6000+ at 3.5GHz testing on an upcoming HTT loving chipset. :p:
i'll sit back for now and see how the first wave of boards do with users like myself!;)
he will probably try a quad core at a later time after he does the initial posting of the article with those above processors.
COOL!..this might be my future board if oskar can tweak the quad output...if you are stuck under 400, i would be woefully stuck around 330 fsb.
Can you now test the max. FSB with an QC at a 9x-Multi?
does this board has that annoying whining noise, you know the one what the other nf680i boards have.???
I think you would have "heard" about it by now :D The fact that it's kinda random on existing Evga boards I don't think you will see any complaints, if any, until this puppy gets out and about to more users...
As far as I know my evga doesn't do it or it is muffled by all the 120mm fans screamin at 110 cfm...
very interesting... was thinking about changing boards earlier
Just wanted to let you know that I got a crosshipped RMA because of this horrible electronic buzzing/whinning noise and my replacement has 0 electronic noise and is the best 680i I've used yet! I would RMA ASAP! Plus like the new DFI my eVGA 680i A1 revision came with a 570MCP (as I've posted in other threads, mabye that is why I'm able to run stable at 500Mhz+ on FSB), lol!
...it crossed my mind.
nb hooks yay
that e6850 chip tested a few pages back looks impressive oc wise.
i have high pitched faint buzz with my mobo/pci sound card. - very annoying; thinking of changing to this board just to get rid of the noise :?
KF chips just too hot imo (120W)
This board is really shaping up nicely. Depending on price, think im gonna give one a go. If i like it, my abit is being ditched! LOL!
The fact that it doesnt use heatpipes is a BIG plus for me, as im still stuggling with the PWM temps on my IN9, after w/cing the NB. Really wish it had seperate Coolers.
Well, ive got a MCW30 on the northbridge, so no need for a fan there, as a result ive put Swiftech BGA sinks on the PWM's with an 80mm fan over them. I know this isnt ideal (infact, i got better PWM temps with a similar setup with yours) but im reluctant to chop up the stock heatsink and use it for the PWM's due to resale value + invalidating warranty.
Temps as its setup now are around 75-80 degrees with 1.4v vcore 3.52ghz (24/7 clock speed) which is really quite high, considering my chip will do 4ghz, but temps go through the roof then obviously due to additional voltages.
Its obvious the Swiftech sinks ive got on the PWM's arent up to the task, but ive had no bright ideas of what to replace them with.
It looks like the DFI will solve this, as well as a few other niggles i have with the IN9 (although obviously im waiting for a few more results once its out in the wild)
(Hope i didnt stray too far OT lol!)
i think one of the major factors for me on this board aswell is the lack of heat pipes. they drive me mental.
on a side note about the electrical noise / high pitched noise my psu does it aswell :/
I never bothered to cool the NB with water because the key to this board in my IMO is pwm temps. It seemed that the stock heatsink over the pwm cooled them most efficiently after folding the thermal pad. Lower vcore helps keep the pwm temps down too, but that is cpu dependent. I'm looking forward to the DFI board & hope to land one on intial launch. If it has the same genie bios features that allows oc profiles to be saved it may come close to replacing my IN9 due to its performance. But the uGuru panel and utility will be difficult to part with since I frequently change clock speeds & settings for benchmarking.
Thats pretty much the conclusion i was coming too... gotta do some thinking! LOL!
I would be supprised if DFI dont have o/c profiles, seeing as every DFI ive had (4 in total) has had them. It would be kind of a strange thing for them to drop. I will however mis Uguru quite a bit. I like the fan controls on it too, oh, and the clear cmos on the back panel will be missed also... nice little touch that.
where is she @ i need 1
DFI's specs show that this MB also has the "CMOS Reloaded"; which is where multiple profiles can be saved.

DFI FTW; I hope this hits the streets soon.
Welcome come to XS MIKE, i seen you around at GURU3d.com
Any eta on this thing? I want to get my sli on.
It's starting to show up for pre-order on a few sites; so I'd say it should be released in about a week or so
Ive read quie a bit on various forums and people seem split on the heatpipe solution. I think Abits failing was not including optional fans for the more 'extreme' overclockers. I have an 80mm perched right above my NB and mem and the hottest ive seen my PWMs run was 85 degrees @ 4ghz. My problem now is unless i find beter cooling i dont think i will get any higher on my cpu.
But back on topic: Im quite excited by this DFI board. I was soooo close to buying the RD600 before i was convinced to buy the IN9. I think price will be the factor that will make me switch. No doubt i could sel my IN9 for more than the DFI will retail for.

Why can't there be more previews like this of the DFI 680i LT?
$321.99 seems a little expensive for a 680 lt board. And what's with the "print & call"?

List price $289.09 newly added item; not yet in stock.
Newegg won't add it until it's actually in stock and will probably list it at a lower price.
Any word on the new beta bios?
edit: just seeing how my sig looks
its starting to show up on froogle which is good news.
the price however... not so good... but we know these boards are gonna sell like hot cakes!
I guess it depends a bit on how the board performs but if this board can manage high C2Q FSB speeds then it will sell like crazy because that is exalty what the market is missing right now!
They will sell fast. On the DFI CLUB forum there was a post that verified what was said earlier. 45 kits will be shipped this 4/27/07 (Friday) I *think* to Newegg. So, probably look for this board to be in stock next week sometime.
ANDRE have you found the board to be without any major problems?
Let's see some more testing! :D
I will try and get some quad results up soon, I'm sure bingo will have some stuff to add too..
regards
Raja
9x multi for us post price-drop Q6600 purchasers would be ideal!
 What looks better? 9700 blowing back to the case exhaust, or up to the PSU intake? :woot:

Nice.
Where did you pre-order the board from? And when can we expect a mini-review?
Got it direct from DFI, of course I'll post my results, all I have to test on it is an unknown/unused week 29b E6400 and some ballistix ddr1000. Gotta go build.
Looks like they have a new press release up -
Article
"self designed"? whatever, it looks sweet.
Hi, while I wait for this board, I'm getting together the cooling blocks I will need...
Can someone with this board do me a huge favor and measure:
- the box bound by the 4 NB retention loops
- the pin-to-pin distance on the SB retention pins
- the pin-to-pin distance on the DPWM heatsink retention pins
Dimensions to the mm would be ideal.
Thanks!!! :toast:
he received the board because he has a special agreement with DFI to test the board and to promote the board.
looks like ill be buying a new board soon.
Is this the board im looking for if I want to go double GTS and planning on a q6600?
I would love to know these things:
-How hot does the SB get and how fast does the fan run when heavily overclocking? 2000rpm? 3000rpm? 4000rpm?
-What size of fan can you put on the NB heatpipe/heatsink? And does it need it when overclocking?
-Has anyone noticed any glaring incompatibilities/instability with these boards yet?
I'm hoping to replace my motherboard/CPU/RAM thats in my sig with this board, an e6600/e6420, and 4GB of DDR2
Omg, I love this board's layout. And that NB heatsink is orgasmic! Good God!!!
