Do you my Seasonic M12 700W can handle 8800GTX in SLi plus a QX6700 OC under Vapochill ?
I just can't get 2002/2003 out of my mind and the race for 20K with the 9700 Pro...
IMHO. that was the greatest run for a 3D milestone. And it was legendary... JcViggen, Macci, OPP, etc, etc...
But the run for 100K is more like watching NASCAR racing... fun and impressive but only 10 people in the world capable of those kinda' runs.
And like all race fans, we all sit waiting to see at least one of them crash and burn. :smoke: :explode2:  (just kidding)Quote:

Hmmmm .... quick calculation with 1350 for nature and therefore say 1600 for drag low would give 100k. I think I remember a 1340 nature run before as a teaser as well. So fully optimised gives 100k.

Still 750 marks shy of the magical mark. :D ;)
TBH, i think 1600 fps for Drago low is a little optimistic but i agree with you that 100K is possible with this setup.
C'mom KP, we know you've got what it takes now show the magic number. :toast:

Meh. Now you're getting a 13 year old kid to idolize you. Good luck reaching 100k...if you do, I'd honestly be obliged to hug you.

97k is just sick, closing to the milestone - you deserve it, so get it :D
good luck on the last 3k :toast:

Left off at nearly 98k now with 1300fps nature and 5330mhz on cpu.
Waiting on more ln2 now atm to finish 3dbenching the setup this week.
I also have runs done at 5290mhz for 03' and 5300mhz+ for 05' :), I'd post the updates but I'd like to see what the other guys get first.
Realistically...100K could fall this coming week?
A WR is a WR, but a landmark like this is something else, I sense that a few guys will be having long days and sleepless nights!
Cmon kingpin, get thorugh. Don't think how would you feel if someone else took this benchmark now that you've come so close :) The public demands result, so produce them! :D :toast:
I am almost sure that going to be you Vince to break the 100K barrier and you sure deserve it because you have a huge amount of talent and an unbeatable sponsor :)Quote:

So I decide not risking the 2 8800GTX's that I have pay by my own pocket and cost me lot of money.
Maybe it will be possible with the 3 stager (-120º), but it’s too much money involved and Ricky simple can't afford to buy all the new parts that are necessary from scratch (he is slowly trying to get the 3 necessary rotary compressors from AC devices).
As I said to Ricky, he time of “amateurism” in top 3D benching real ends.
When we break the 40K barrier (with my FX-53 and a single X800), still was possible for a mere amateur to achieve top tiers results, now with all hardware and cooling involved simply it is not. We have to face the reality.
Me and Ricky will continue to bench in 3D mark 01 (for us the best ever bench), but is almost certain that will be k|ngp|n with their vast amount of talent and resources that breaks the 100K barrier.
:toast:
Don`t stop Pedro, we know you can do it ;)
May be you can send him dual 8800GTX and 1000$ for the cascade and he will do it for youQuote:

I wish I had gone round the world when I was younger. I'll be doing on a cruise and chatting up the 70 year old ladies by the time i get to do it :(
It will be good to see Sampsa back again.
Pedro, why not swap to LN2 ? Surely that is cheaper than triple cascade ?
Creeping towards 100k, it definitely ios THE BIG ONE. We seem to have been chasing it since GF4 was still posting here, I hope he does not miss it when it happens.

Andy
GF4?? You guys were too optimistic :DQuote:

Fully agree, specially for 3D Mark2001, skills and talent is essential - and k|ngp|n have an huge ammount of booth..:DQuote:

of course, if the current trend of "benchmarking" as some kind of sport really bothers you maybe you should be wondering why that is? I get more out of it as an intellectually stimulating hobby than I would if I dropped 5Gs on a bench setup and got some ephemeral record. Let's not get too caught up in this...
it is a lot more that just throw a couple of GPUs under LN2, but with this prices latelly, it is become almost imposible for unsponsored guys to even come close.Quote:

Not completely. Money can't buy you the best CPU stepping ever if the guy before you already bought it. That's where luck would come in. :cool:Quote:

There are alot of things involved in benching at the top, and definetely $$$ / hardware disponibility is becoming the most important these days. Indeed, the best hardware and cooling cand get you once at the top of the ORB, but without serious knowledge, skill and determination you can't keep that spot for long. Lately i've been trying hard to get the hardware needed, but i still envy Vince for all his determination ...
I`m not :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing at Vince, just the enviable position he has. I wanna make that clear :)
I cant really relate to his scores coz they`re so far above mine :) When Andre or Victor runs a Spi32M at 3600 etc to show something they`re working on, I can relate to that and think I need to work on areas A, B and C to improve myself.
I`d love a mid-range battle with certain component rules, then see whos scores are best...takes money out of it. Theres a Spi 1M mini-comp at OCX for CPUs no faster than 3500, thats something I can get involved in, tho I still get kicked by Kev LOL
Imagine all those people out there with talent put never overclocked before

well there's been a longstanding SPI 32M comp thread here....just look up coop's thread and join up and show us how good you all are..........that really motivated me on AMD platform and i produced some kick arse numbers to match and in some instances beat the greats such as BA/eva2k and others........Quote:

IMO - the $$$ is everything.
Need good hardware? - pay no expence ...
Need skill? - invite a person shipped to your door (for example k|ngp|n) who has for big $$$ :D
Need luck? - personally i got it
Yeah but $$$$ cannot help a retarded person unless he get k|ngp|n to bench for himQuote:

It's easy to just make some comments from the side of the field, but until you don't get in the game you won't understand how come the best clockers around respect each other so much ... you need to actually do something to understand how hard it is.
