I own this motherboard as well, but I'm having weird problems with it. I get every 2-3 weeks a weird BSOD in Win7 64bit with physical memory dump. The PC won't automatically reboot and when i reset it it doesn't boot back into win7 64 bit any longer. I'm using a raid 0 made of 2 WD Velociraptors. It seems that the raid is rendered unable to boot, but i cannot seem to comprehend why this happens. It always hangs and will not go past the point where the raid rom appears and the message "update dmi to something... ". I've already tried repairing the install but to no avail. When loading the raid drivers it manages to detect the raid area, but curiously, it is assigned with letter E or F even though it should be actually drive C.
My Bios version is F8c,the latest posted by Gigabyte on their site.
My config is Gigabyte MA790FXT UD 5P with Bios F8c, Phenom II 965@stock with Scythe Zipang 2, 4x2 GB Kingston HyperX CL 8 @ stock (1333), Palit 9800GT Green @ stock, X-fi Titanium, 2 WD Veliciraptors in RAID0 and WD 1.5 TB Green, Asus SATA DVD Burner, floppy drive, CoolerMAster 1000W PSU, Razer Copperhead, Saitek Eclipse II, Win 7 64 bit
The BSOD shows up when gaming NFS shift, Bioshock2, Mass Effect2, but also when running 3d mark Vantage benchmark.
I got this error in vista 64 as well. I must point out that i also update the bios successively to F7 and then F8c. Unfortunately both updates could be only performed in windows, due to the fact that q-flash didn't recognize my usb stick.
I'm starting to grow desperate because it is very annoying to install windows every 15 days, losing my save games etc.(I'm at the 5th reinstall due to BSOD followed by messed up raid boot since November when i got this motherboard).
What is the exact and proper setting for q-flash to detect my usb stick?
Is it because of the bios? Could someone please give me the proper raid drivers for win7 64bit?
Should i go back to bios F6?
In bios it says i have the secondary bios F5. How can i load it as a primary Bios in order to get it to factory settings, would this help?
I've run Memtest 3.2 for about 8 hours and 6 passes with no errors, so i think i could rule out any ram issues.
I've also tested the setup in amd overdrive for about 1 hour by running the stability test; there were no issues detected.
Could someone post the boot option for usb stick, so that it can be seen by q-flash and i mange to update via q-flash and not windows. Please help me, because I'm getting trouble every 2 weeks with my setup. My Win7 64 bit is trial version, it doesn't even get near the trail expiration date.
Thank you in advance for your kind support.
