@..Olli ......I have a Item specific Task for you to do if you would Please.
Please Take DMM Reading of Vcore Set Starting @ 1.35625 to next 4 Incremental Vcore Voltage set in Bios please Note: Voltage set in Bios & Actual Vcore Rating in Bios DMM Reading Idle/ Load on 1/21/2009 "Beta"
Then Flash Back to 12/26/2008 "Beta" and do the Same as with 1/21/2009 "Beta" with DMM
Also if you can or Wish to Afford the Time Please Check NB & Vdimm with DMM same way as Vcore Please.
The Reason that I ask this of you is because what was stable 12/26/2008 "Beta" @3.5ghz CPU 2600mhz NB with 1.8ghz HT @ 1.35625 Vcore CPU/NB @ 1.35625 NB/Core Voltage @ Default Pass 1hr OCCT CPU High Priority without Issue
Would Fail 1min 4 seconds same settings on 1/16/2009 "Beta"! Went Round and Round Numerous Flashes with 1/16/2009 same :banana::banana::banana: so I Flashed Back to 12/26/2008 "Beta" Issue Resolved Figured Bios was corrupt and Re-Programmed the Chip 12/26/2008 Did 2hrs OCCT CPU High Priority @ Vcore /NB voltage listed above that failed in 1 min 4 seconds with 1/16/2009>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Get up this Morning see new Bios and Flashed to 1/21/2009 "Beta" and Issue with Failing OCCT CPU High Priority is once again Present ....even with Kicking up the CPU & CPU/NB Voltage 3 more notches and NB @2,4ghz instead of 2.6ghz ..................Still Fails!!!!!!!!
This :banana::banana::banana: is really starting to piss me off! So I wish for you to cross reference 1/21/2009 & 12/26/2008 "Beta" and see what discrepancy the DMM Shows.
I have stated several times that the Voltage Tables in Bios Need to be thoroughly Looked at and Addressed and that should be priority number 1 as serious Harm can come to our Hardware from this!
ok i'll check tonight or tomorrow early morning (so late night for you)!
Finally got 1066 stable this time with unganged mode. Zero errors for 11 hrs and 30mins.
I'm going work on the timings again. Same timings as 7 hours test.
Hi Guys,
Ok couple things.
1) looking at going 8GB Ram, currently using Geil Black Dragon, may change anyone got any recommendations?
2) HD perf sucks, Raid wasnt particularly great. I know SB600 is not exactly the worlds greatest SB. If I bought this...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=180314063617
would this improve things? bearing in mind I would be running two Samsung spinpoint 160JJ's
I also have a 160HJ that seems exactly the same in every respect, could I use this in RAID 0 aswell as the others?
I may just have to invest in a decent main HD with good perf like a deskstar or barracuda 7200.11 etc.
Thanks guys
Matt
I know this has been asked a million times, but what is the best official bios right now?
If you have Phenom II then there is only 1 > 12/01/2008 Bios "But".....If using Vista it disables LAN and you cannot get it to work no matter what!
So in short there is None
I still haven't made the leap to phenom yet I'm just trying to setup my X2 for a farm machine the one prior to 12/1/08 release?
Back on 12/26/2008 "Beta" once again and Overclock is stable ..........Again @ Same Voltage!
Anyone care for a game of Hopscotch Backwards?:D this is getting ridiculous!
Sorry to be a pain I've been out of AMD havent used this board since Dec 07. Isn't the 12/26/2008 bios for the T2R, will it work on a M2R?
yea i just had 2 sticks go bang in the last couple months on my last 2. so was thinking id go for something else. was thinking either go 4GB reaper or 8GB whatever was cheapest and 1066 55515
Ah cheers, yea im a student so cant afford a huge amount. That rocket card looks good altho its still a bit pricey. (I had noticed your MEGA Raid card and am very jealous! lol). Do you reckon a cheap ebay jobby will not be up to it?Quote:
IF not willing to spend money on ARECA RAID CONTROLLERS.................Then High Point ROCKET Raid will get you where you want.
P.S............Samsung Drives DO NOT work well on ARECA Cards just so you know.
what about this?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=270326463283
Im looking for best bang for buck really, its not being used as a server or anything, id just like a nice quick startup and responsive operation as now i dont have RAID and back to 2GB my vista 64bit is seeming a bit sluggish.
Thanks alot
Matt
It comes down to this..........What Card will work without Issues On these Boards.....thats the Real Trick you may spend $50.00 on that Card on Ebay and find that it will cost you $500.00 or More in your Time Trouble shooting it if it does not work properly.
I say buy ARECA thats all I recommend but obviously I can tell you might not have that kind of Money. Rocket Raid has worked in D.F.I Boards since NF4 (939) so ....I would Assume that should be the case still......................"ASSUME" being the operative word here.
I have a 790FX-M2R.
Lol thats true maybe ill get a cheap one and see how it goes, then maybe sell it on ebay if it doesnt work out,
Thanks alot though ;)
Peny wise and dollar foolish heh? Its your Nickel Brother Have at it!
did you OC them at all?Quote:
I had the same 8GB of ram as you on that mobo & it was rock stable at 1066
Ive played a bit with the latencies and managed to get a pair of 2GB sticks running at 4 3 3 8 760mhz, seemed noticeably faster than at 4 4 4 12 800, havnet really pushed further than 1066. may try that in the next few days. just fairly busy atm.
cheers
Matt
Question:
A friend of mine has a DFI Lanparty DK 790FXB M2RSH. She had a Phenom 9850BE and two OCZ Reaper PC2-8500C5 sticks in slots 1 and 3. Yesterday she sold her Phenom and bought a Phenom II 940 and suddenly the system won't post if there's a stick of RAM in slot 1 or 2. Every combination has been tried, and only slot 3+4 (the two slots furthest away from the CPU) will boot, thus she can't get dual channel working. Flashed to latest official BIOS, cleared CMOS, loaded optimal defaults, done all that stuff and Slot 1 + 2 on the board just won't work with the PhenomII. They work with a X2 6000+ and the Phenom 9850be. Any ideas?
How about which Bios Revision she is running ? Edit: never mind.
Take the memory out , pull the 24 Pin and 8 Pin power connectors out and any other P.S.U input on Mobo Remove battery , Clear c'mos over night (8hrs()
After overnight clear c'mos Plug P.S.U Cables back into motherboard , Replace 1 Stick of Memory (Closest to CPU) Just one Vid Card if mopre then 2 in system Put Battery back in move c'mos jumper to normal position and Preferably Use PS2 Keyboard with nothing else plugged into back of mobo Power up while tapping Insert & Home Key / Enter Bios / load Optimized defaults / Save/exit Boot to Windows Desktop Manual Restart / Manual Power down.....................Unplug PSU Cord let sit 10-15 Minutes Replace Ram into slot 3 and peripherals in Back Boot up you should be Ok I would think at that point.
hmmm having trouble running F@H with beta bios anyone have any experience with this?
Something tells me WinFlash might have been involved yes?
