F5c now out for DQ6....
http://www.jzelectronic.de/jz2/index.php
Has any1 tried f5c for DQ6? Is there any improvement for stability? i know only this:
1. Warning VDimm > +0.275V
2. Fix Diverse
THX!
Respect!
surely CPU Thermal Monitor gave you a clue? :p:Quote:

Doh, :slapass:. Sorry, was thinking of CPU EIST Function.Quote:

FYI (Extract from planetx64 http://www.planetx64.com/index.php?o...limitstart=3):
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) will slow down your CPU when idle to keep temperatures down, this is like the Cool ānā Quiet feature of the AMD processors, and for maximum performance when benchmarking it is recommended to set it to disabled.
CPU Thermal Monitor 2 (TM2) will throttle your CPU when it reaches a preset temperature.
CPU EIST Function enables/disables the Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology which is a lot bit like the AMD Cool'n'Quiet feature. If enabled, EIST will throttle your CPU speed (Via the multipliers) and Voltage when the processor is idle.
Virtualization Technology is an option for future use, currently no software takes advantage of it. Possible support may be introduced in future versions of applications such as VMware or it may be useful in Vista, but for the time being, I set it to disabled.
I have tried you various bios on my DS4, F3 F4C F4 and the last F5B but with the C1E seems strange like if it didn't work... all to default and all enabled but from cpu-z it always remains firm to max...it never doesn't come down neither in idle
what can be? :stick:
I haven't played with them much but try the CPU EIST Function. With this enabled I would regularly notice the multiplier dropping from 8x to 6x in idle moments.

in the windows control panel > power options, have you tried changing the power schemes?

Mirror all DS3 bios incl F6a http://www.cranox.com/Gigabyte/DS3/
Woah cranox, who's that chick :D
Ok, I've got a DQ6 and F4 loaded, but I'm utterly confused as to setting the fsb:memory divider. All I can see (even after ctrl+f1) is the System Memory Multiplier, which is simply fsb * mult = Memory MHz...this is *not* what I'm after.
What if I want to force my RAM to say 2/3rd FSB, or 5/6 FSB?
Cheers!
Also any advantages of moving to F5c?
Does anyone know if my RAID5 array will be destroyed if I update my BIOS?

I must say im on the verge , so close to taking a screwdriver and killing my DS4, even at 400fsb witch is 7 hours prime stable i still cant reboot, have to reset 27 times to get back from perpetual onoffonoff bla bla...:slapass:
F5B bios just makes it worse and even my "stable" settings didnt work, and the bios wouldent even save this, just bootet stock all the time..
To heck with the colours, get the oc settings to work properly Gigabyte!!
Im went back to F4 final, and then i tried 430fsb, 1,45Vc, Vmch +0,45, +550 Vdimm, pci-e 100mhz, and wow it bootet into win but after 5 mins it crashed, i try'd loads of different settings after this but it wouldent boot at 430fsb again...
What to do now?
I have exactly the same problem as you have. I have just tried the F3 yet but finaly I got it to Boot at 8x400 with vCore 1,465 Dimm +0,4 Vmch +0,15 and FSB +0,15 and it was stable with PI M32 no problem. Made several reboots still no problem, turned it on after a trip to town and then it just boots 2sec and then of and on like that for ever and i have to CMOS and start all over again. This must be some kind of bios issue, kind of sad to hear thet the problems aint solved with the newer bioses :slapass:Quote:

All my temps are fine, chipset is not watercooled, but i have 2*80mm fans over mems and chipset, so its not a heat problem..
I reset it at the front of my stacker, if i have to pull the battery out i need to take my gfx and radiator out...Quote:

I did not notice any difference from F4e, though I have not had much time to tinker.Quote:

guys listen..
99.9% of the rebooting issue caused by these baords is caused by two things.
not enough vcore or too tight of timings on the ram.
you also need to start nailing the insert and delete keys when it goes into the reboot sequence.
this will force it back to defualts to get you into the bios.
its supposed to only be the insert key but it doesnt always work many times i have to do it 5 or 6 times ot get it to work but its easier then opening the case and going in and resetting the cmos.. lol sometimes.

but yes gigabyte needs to get off their collective a$$es and fix this sh|t.
the board needs to reset itself to a safe boot mode so you can get back into the bios.
I wish you had mentioned this before now :rolleyes:Quote:
