Is anyone else having a problem of WMP crashing over 400fsb? I was at 440 and it primed fine, yet WMP kept crashing, had to lower it to 400 to get it to work (DS3 F5e BIOS)
Changed to F5 now, at 400mhz (3.2ghz effective) priming steady as a rock, no wmp issues so im going to try and increase it some more tonight
stupid question......which one is the northbridge (im presuming its the one with the large slightly ornate heatsink on it) as im putting +0.3v through and want to keep it cool
you got it. the one withthe bigger heatsink
you should buy a 40 or 50mm fan and hotglue it to it.
it will drop your temps big time on the NB.
WMP crashing. i will assume that would be some sort of a memory error causing it to crash or possibly overclocking the video card too far.
maybe have the pci-e freq too high or not high enough.
i thought i saw some people saying that setting the pci-e freq to like 412 made the 1900 series card run better... i dont know though i dont have one..
if your pulling video or audio off of a usb device it could also be caused by that. usb can at times get goofy with high fsb. sometimes.. really depends on the board though. i have had a couple of hickups but cant say it was the usb bus or if it was the usb device itself.
ds4 power:clap:
vcpu 1.4
vddr 2.4
vmch1.6
vfsb 1.5

well it has half or the airflow from a 120mm one so its ok (the other half goes over my vga ramsinks)Quote:

(setting the PCI-E to 412 :slobber: , do you mean 112? i hope so, ill go set that and try it
I didnt realise you had to adjust the pci-e to keep it stable, oh well you live and learn

and yes you have to set the pci-e freq to ATLEAST 100 to make anything stable on these boards.
and many times not always though you have to increase the pci-e freq accordingly.
usually i dont touch it but i have went to 115mhz without a single issue.
lock it in at 100mhz and see what it does.
well at 100mhz i got to 430ish so hopefully ill get like 440+
kocsonya... hhmm i assume its a cpu-z bug since its showing your pci-e link at 1x and not 8x or 16x ?
you having any video issues.?
but good stuff man keep going.
Mch + 0,1/+0,2 or +0,3V not 0,15V like on that bios screen .Quote:

Tried F5c...lol, either i'm thick or the mobo i have is total rubbish. Tried everything once again, it crashs past 340FSB.
Think i should just give up and buy a new DQ6, though there is no guarantee that will be any better. I'm wondering if my X-Fi souncard or ATI X550 could be the cause?
There seems to be some new things in F5c, the DIMM voltage control is now called "DDR2 OverVoltage Control", and the various voltages are split into three colors. +0.275V is normal color, +0.300 upto 0.500 is pink in color. Above this is flashing red.
Guess it's a warning thingy, also was "Robust Graphics Booster" always listed under M.I.T. ?
Not sure if it was, if so then it's moved position...i think is was below CPU Voltage Control, now it's at the very top of the menu screen, above CPU Clock Ratio....everything else is the same as F4.
ok keep testing richard. i get off work in a couple of hours so i'll be testing then.
It's not a bug of CPU-Z. Sometimes some P965 mobos set PCI-E link width to x1 without any apparent reason. I've had the same with gigabyte dq6 and asus P5B deluxe and 7900GT.Quote:

i personally wouldnt recommend you even bother with it.
still no GSkill 6400 HZ support over 950mhz STABLE and i mean STABLE
overclocking still has zero changes. infact i can no longer boot at 412hz x9
it wont let me do that. every other bios todate lets me do that fine but not this one.
looks like all they did was change the vdimm settings to colors now.
2.1 and 2.2 are purple and 2.3 and 2.4v are red.
this is definately not an improvement..
stick with F5
where is F6a?Quote:

Official F4 is now on the Gigabyte website:

And F5 for the DS3:

Strangely...no official F4 for the DS4:

F4 for the S3:

F3 for the (G)S3:
