I heard the opteron cooler was not bad, unlike the A64 pos they give you.Quote:

Well, it's not a 170, but close. It's a CCBBE 0610DPMW 165, but it's load temps are the same as my old 170. My water loop is down so I'm stuck with the stock HSF. Here are my results with ambient air of 22c.Quote:

@ Repoman: Have you removed your IHS yet? If not, do it and 3.2 may be reachable.:toast:
Yup, removed and applied liquid metal thermal paste which brought it down another 3-5C depending on voltage :toast: Loading at 38C right now with 1.5v. Only goes up another degree or two at 1.6vQuote:

damn ur water cooling set up must be nice or that stuff works very well.
Got any link of that liquid metal stuff?
some interesting results.....
so i got my 4 to 8pin adapter today. install and right off the bat i boot 100mhz higher on stock voltages. highest i could boot with the 4pin was 2750, installed the 8pin and booted at 2880 (which is the max of my board now)
now i can start burning in at 2800 instead of 2700
Combination of both :p: But the metal stuff really helps in high ambients, where it used to go to 41-42C naked/low volts it never goes above 39 pretty much now, no matter what voltageQuote:

Apparently according to their graph, it conducts heat ~10x better than AS5. Judging from my results this is pretty accurate

I'm now at 1.404 @ 2.5 GHz. Using an XP-120 with a Panaflo med on it. Volted around 9 - 10v I believe so its not too loud. Got an additional case fan that I'm leaving off so I can have some leeway once I find my max speeds.

edit: Not looking good =(. Core 0 is the weak one. Crashes easily. Takes 1.45 volts just to do 2.6 GHz. Still testing. Core 1 seems to do fine.

Is that good enough for the list
Can you people actually LIST what voltages you are using? Software readings don't exactly tell u s much especially when they're always off...
As in list what voltages you are selecting in your BIOS, as well as showing a screenie of cpuz...
My new 165, CCBBE!!

Just wanted to let y'all know in case some of you are buying. I ordered an OEM Opty 165 from Monarch on Tuesday and it just arrived. It's a CCBBE 0610 DPMW. I'll be pleased as punch if this one does 2.7+ on stock volts like my last one.
@techstyled nice, killer stepping.
don't forget you can PM me your results in this format:
Model: 165
Stepping: CCBBE
Date: 0615
Package Code: EPMW
CPU Frequency: 2900
VCore: 1.45
Cooling: TT Big Typhoon
Load Temperature: 45c
Prime Stability: Prime Stable
Please make sure all the fields are completed. Thanks in advance, I would appreciate it. Replace red items with your information.
sorry if i'm being a pain in the arse asking everyone to re-submit their results. but i want to keep them up to date, and the re-organization i'm doing to the table is well worth it. the new DB is much more useful.
Um hey, I received mine from monarch on wednesday, and it doing 2.7ghz @1.3v.Quote:

You can read it off the MBM ss, its all there and if its not enough then the original thread poster should have specified an accepted layout on the 1st postQuote:

Even though I just sold my 0610 batch # in the 800s that I got from FD after reading this I just couldn't help myself! Since Monarch is only about 20 mins away from me I had to go see what they had. Here is what I returned with...Quote:

They guy said they had "a bunch" of them at the GA warehouse so get em while you can!
a bunch eh?
That's what he said, but they may not all be 0610s so it's a still a roll of the dice but the odds are just a little more in your favor for the next week or so. :)
CCBBE 0610DPMW seem to be coming from every retail location at this point in time. with the occasional 0551 eek.
Was that O.E.M. or retail boxed? How much was it? Tankguys still has retail boxed 165's CCBBE 0615 EPMW but they're $367+shipping. I haven't seen many overclocking results on them either. I'd really hate to buy from Monarch though, 2-6 days before they ship & you don't know what your gettting.Quote:

Thanks, guess I'll stick with TankGuys. Monarch seems to be around $350, you won't get it soon, O.E.M. and no guaranteed stepping. I'll just pay the $370. Gonna be dissapointed if it won't go farther than my 170 although 2.8ghz @1.4v doesn't seem to be that great.Quote:
