He bought one, as well as one of the Kingston value ram sticks. Both were 512MB and both were able to hit 255 (2-2-2 at 3.6v+) on his Abit IC7-G/3.2 set up. He thinks the ram had more left but not the proc.
I have seen the Kingston in two of my local CCs in the 2x256 dual-packs, but no 512 locally.
I do recall one of the Mushkin reps that sometimes posts over at OCF stating in a post that Mushkin uses these chips in their value ram line as well, but at the time did not identify which chip it was nor what product used it...it was just one of those statements along the lines of "I know what chip it is and we use it in our value line" and that was it. He made that comment in one of the early VX threads where everyone was trying to guess which chips were in the VX.
The point of all this ramblings is that it might be able to be found elsewhere, but I don't know who has it. The egg may have it in some OCZ or Mushkin or in KVR, but at this point, I can't direct you to any.
At one point about a week ago, the Fry's where Diablo works had about 6 sticks left of the OCZ Value Series and half a box of the KVR single sticks and a bunch of the KVR 1 gig dual-kits....somebody want to make Diablo an offer he can't refuse?
Its out there guys, and probably will become more plentiful as it hits the shelves in all sorts of value line products...just got to go fishing for it.
Of course, it would be a heck of alot easier if the egg just stocked the right stuff, right?
i really wish there was a computer company that catered to enthusiasts like us and actually said what stepping and date cpu you were getting, what IC is on ram, what chipset revision in motherboards. i would pay a little extra to know what i was getting, maybe 10$ extra on ram, and so on.
someone linked a company that did that with intel chips, seperated E0 and D0 cores. i wish more places did that with their products.
so if i was to go to newegg right now(which i'm doing) and buy some ram for someone, which brand gives me the best shot at UTT? if i get a winner i have a gig of cheap ram i can give them, since that is what they want in the first place. otherwise it was like i never even tried to get it.
OCZ find the chips, speed bin them, put on spreaders, and provide amazing support....
yeah and they add a mighty high price to them also
when your broke like me those ocz are just for dreamers
i was talking about the retailers. this way nobody would have to play the guessing game when ordering twinmos from newegg.
i think if everyone sent a suggestion like that to newegg, they would do it but only if enough people suggested.
we should send them an xtremesystems.org official email or something :p
i'm flipping through their selection of ocz, kvr, and mushkin, and none of the pictures denote anything, but i'm guessing most of their pictures are innacurate anyways. i'm not even going to try twinmos speed premium, as a 512mb dimm from them has been confirmed to be AADT.
I spent a whole evening looking through pictures of just about every value line type ram they had, regardless of name, I mean I even looked at Rosewill (who in their right mind would really want ram with that name on it?) and came away empty handed. Hope you have better luck than I did.Quote:

how do i even contact distributors. they would probably tell people the codes on the ram.
well, i think i'll just get some 67$ per 512mb dimm kvr that is on sale. the chips are infineon i think (2 notches in side) but i was reading reviews, and a couple overclocked it, or just tightened latencies, and its possible they might have UTT.
A group buy would be a good idea.....
..on the subject of other value RAMs having the UTT, Just a quick search based off of my previous searching it seems Mushkin also uses BP PCBs so they might be a alternative, however we have to crack/get their rep to crack their memory code to see which have UTT.
Just searchin' some more, what about these:

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...141-164&DEPA=1 (read the reviews)
These don't seem to be windbond chips in the pictures but the chips could be different in person.
Now just gotta find a place that will let me search through all of their value RAM stock :).
i think the key to at least narrowing it down is in reading the reviews and hope to find the lone person who gave maybe 3.0 volts to get cas2. and that would be a possibility.
i haven't seen any reviews where peope have given ram like 3.3volts at newegg, so it will be doubtful to know for sure.
i know a guy who works for a PC shop, he has direct acess to several warehouses, though im not sure if he could get them handpicked, ill contact him tommorow, hes always trying to get me to buy from him... well now i can heh.
well Newegg back in stock.

44D on the mem chips but the sticker doesnt say wat we wanted it to say.
nope, it doesnt...
time to look elsewhere.
well to put that into perspective, newegg doesn't update pictures, they still have pics of bh-5 on their sticks.
isn't that still the same pic ? Don't think they would change it even if they were AA4T ... lazy NewEgg is ;)
And not for all of them ShroomQuote:
