Hi could you send me a good location to get the tools needed to mod the cables on my pumps
As a long time M-Cubed owner, the product works but the software and support sucks with Windows 7x64 bit at least. I will be happy to trade for your LT
I got my crimp from a local electronics store, the pins and molex heads (green) are from my local computer DIY shop.. You can start there as I am sure you will save some $$$ on shipping.. Another is I think performance PC's and MDPC sells crimps, MDPC is renown for their quality so you wont be getting a cheap crimp (if you are planning to use it a lot), tho I think it's a bit expensive 37.64euro for a crimp..
I paid around $14 USD for mine and worth every penny as I use it a lot for multiple rigs, let friends borrow it, etc.. and best of all, it's made in Germany..
I just cancelled an order for an LT, and I'm not sure whether to get one now.
Could someone please clarify the USB polling rate issue? is it a problem only during firmware updates, or does it affect general operation as well? I always use gaming mice (inc. Razer) at 500Hz or higher USB polling rates, so at the moment I don't have much confidence in the product or Aqua Computer's willingness to find a solution.
well I can't confirm razor..
But I did have the Logitech software installed and running when I updated the firmware on both my PA and AQ, not a problem... Also running now very smoothly and also not a problem.. My mouse is a G500 and polling rate can reach that of 1000mhz 5700DPI which is a bit insane when set to max, I usually use around 2200 to 2800 dpi and no problems I can tell..
sooooo Look's like AC fixed the problem..
Have a question if anyone can assist me that would be awesome.
Currently getting the following:
Aquaero XT 5
Poweradjust Ultra x 3
Flowmeter x 2
~8 temp sensors (some inline, some not)
Aquaero Waterblock
Multiswitch LT
What i'm planning to plug into it:
2xD5 pumps
6-9 Fans(3x140mm,1x120mm,2x200mm) (9 fans would be a extra 3x140mm)
8 LEDs using the multiswitch for a idea i have
Would what i have be enough for what i'm planning on running? (pretty sure it is just want to make sure)
I wired 4 fans in parallel to connect to a power adjust 2, what do you do with the 3rd PMW wire coming off the fans? Do you connect that in parallel as well or do you just connect the wire from one fan in the chain?
Don't worry about the polling rate problem as the newest firmware seems to have fixed mine...I am actually quite pleased with the whole package now...but plan on purchasing either the aluminum HS or the waterblock as the vrms need help with cooling. I have the passive HS installed with a 60mm fan blowing directly onto it...with this I am able to run 4 pairs of 140mm Aerocool Shark fans as low as 4vdc and as high as 12vdc...the VRMs only ever get to 72c.
Is there a fool proof way of flashing the AE5 and PA2 without bricking them ? Mine is still on firmware 1010, and the Aquasuite is totally unusable.
Mine was that way for a while...and I made a very angry post about it at the time. My LT is buried very deeply into a mid-tower, so I was not happy to learn I had to dig it out in order to "reset" it. I can't remember the specific temp-probe numbers, but there is a procedure for jumpering two of them, powering off, then on, then re-accomplishing flashing. It worked...but I did no risk doing it on the same PC (Sandy Bridge Z68)...I did it on my standby rig (AMD system). Then I reassembled everything only to discover there still was no "curve controller"...so I waited a while, and a new software / firmware version came out as promised. I gritted my teeth (different mouse this time...the old one was a Razer Death Adder, the new one is a Mionix NAOS 5000 set at 1500MHz polling)...drumroll....and somehow everything just magically worked. Since it's doing what I want now, I'm not going to do that ever again:)
Good luck...try surfing the English Aquacomputer forum for those jumper numbers.

P.S. I wish AIDA64 supported this product like it does the for the T-Balancer. That would be the icing on the cake.
I cant access the jumpers, mine is mounted on a MM pedestal under a fully loaded MM UFO cube. I'm not redoing all my cable management and refilling everything just to flash the firmware.
So there is no other way to flash it than unmounting it and putting jumpers on (which were not sold with the unit, and i dont have any left since the 1980's) ? I didnt flash yet, and the unit is working by itself (i can access the UI since it's a Pro version) - its just the Aquasuite which is unusable.
I wish i had known this before i assembled everything.
Ditto! Hey, can you access the data cable? Maybe you could try plugging it into a laptop...it's worth a shot. Also...try flicking the PSU off completely for a bit...to ensure the unit is OFF off. And again...try the polling rate thing...use different peripherals next attempt.
Good luck man
Yeah i'm getting an internal->external USB cable adapter, so i'll plug them into a laptop (i can access the data cable easily).
The Aquaero comes with 4x temperature sensors (not inline), the items you selected is more then enough to power the stuff you listed, I suggest figuring something to have air flow pointing at the PA, mine gets above 60c when running at 7.4V 0.45A...
one idea is what phayboy did, he used a corsair airflow (that ram fan unit that comes with all dominator kits) pointing directly at his PA units..
Another is what I did since I can't fit a corsair airflow unit as my tubings and res are in the way, I got a Antec Spotcool that I plan to install in the near future..
or you can go ghetto and zip tie a 80-120mm fan...
You only need to connect 1 fan pwm cable to the aquaero, I have mine daisy chained like this.. 2 (ground and power) > 2 (ground and power) > 3 (ground, power and pwm) > aquaero or power adjust.. You don't want to connect all the pwm cables together from all the fans, the read out will be all over the place..
I have a similar problem accessing the back panel, I use a non-magnetic pair of tweezers and a flash light, it's been a god send so far..
:)
one option for the jumper is to hook up 2 wires to it and a switch, taking the wires from an old case, reset or HD led and putting a switch on it.
this would make it more accessable... once you go through the the hassel of getting to the device.
Well no luck with Aquasuite 2012. I have Logitech mouse & keyboard, run the "dimr" tool to confirm polling rate is 125Hz, so no problem here.
If i load up the old Aquasuite 4.72 and i plug my Poweradjust 2 on USB, it's working perfectly. I can see the flow monitor properly (which my AE5 cannot, on firmware 1010 - i have one flow sensor plugged on my PA2) and fan rpm monitoring is correct. My PA2 is on firmware 1003 so i uninstalled AS 4.72 and moved on to AS 2012 beta 9. Unplugged the PA2 from USB, plugged the AE5....
Then i launch AS 2012. It sees my AE5, good. If i go to "system" page my AE5 pro shows as "aquaero 5 lt" which it is not, it's a pro version (with the LCD). Firmware is 1010, if i try to flash it holds and doesnt even start flashing at all. Nothing happen on the device either.
Now what do i have to do ?
try this .....
1.) Turn off the PC and remove the standby power if you are using it.
2.) Remove all sensors from the aquaero.
3.) Place four jumpers on the temperature sensor connectors 5 to 8.
4.) Power on the system and after a few seconds you should see a recovery mode screen in the aquaero display.
6.) Turn the PC off and remove the jumpers from the aquaero.
7.) Start the PC and use the latest aquasuite 2012 software to flash the firmware onto the aquaero. It should perform a restart afterwards so you should see the regular screens now.
8.) Turn off the PC, connect all sensors etc. again and start the PC.

i do flash succesfully...
Well i hoped i would have to dismantle everything... o well.
Ok so i did dismantle everything, scrounged 4 jumpers and did the recovery mode trick.
Flashed the unit to 1018, ok. Aquasuite told me something in german then exited. The AE5 rebooted, and now half the screen (left) is working, the other half is blank. Note that before that it was working perfectly, only change is the firmware... Trying another round of recovery, i'll be back.
(edit) got it sorted by re-flashing the 1018 one more time. Wheh.. Now to redo my cable management again :(
noob question!
if I buy a aquaero 5 LT, to connect 6 fans, 4 ccf, 2 pumps, need some more accessories? or just aquaero 5 LT sufficient?
Now that I'm all learnt up (lol) I'm impressed enough with the product I'll be buying another LT for my next build...but...I'm going to install a permanent "jumper" momentary derlin switch, kinda like having a dedicated CLRCMOS button. I hope this'll overcome any firmware drama...all I really need to sense is water temp anyway....and BTW, gratz on finally getting r done!

Yeah i'm going crazy with the curve controllers now. Tried the PID but i'm not sure what is the control variable (integer ? % as in 10% = 0.1 ? is it relative to fan minimum or absolute 0-100 ?), and not sure what is the 4th variable (the delay for D ? is it a sample time in order to avoid peaks ?). Went through a square impulse measurement (thats a good one hour experiment here for just one impulse) and applied some known PID recipes, but ended up with too slow response and oscillation...
