I only know some 24" PVA/MVA panels suffer from input lag.
Benq has the best 24" when it comes to reducing inputlag, Dell 2407 and samsung 245T are horrible, thats what i read on the forums.

Also the LG and Acer are good 24" models, the input lag is not so hard as the samsung and Dell

are there any 22" widescreen monitors with height adjustment that anyone knows of? i haven't been able to find one. do they not exist?

95% sure that Dells 22" does :)

EDIT: Sorry, I presumed that it also had height adjustability knowing the 2407 does

However... I definately know that this monitor supports height adjustment

All LCD monitor suffer from imput lag, even the ones with S-IPS, it-s a different technology, you can adapt to it, but you can't compare it with CRT. The only solution to input lag is "SED" - which is actually a thin CRT. :up:

What do you suggest for a gaming monitor (20"-22") at a price range of 500$-800$ ?

I don't suppose you have any insight as to how this monitor stacks up agains the BenQ?

Fatal... if you looking for a gaming monitor around 500... might want to check out masterrebates. Acer makes some decent stuff with alright refresh rates if you dont want to spend much (under 300). The only issues ive seen with the Acers are the light/dark contrasts.

Not all panels have input lag, I know an Iiyama ProLite E2201W that doesn't have any input lag.

This has been bothering me but how will I be able to find out panel type besides forums? Is there a website that has a list of LCD model and panel type or what?

Well for the price its good, if you have worked with a TN panel before you will know what to expect. Most laptops use TN panels though due to their much lower power requirements compared to MVA, PVA or IPS and they aren't that bad.

Yeah TN's are not that bad considering how cheap the panels are.. but kudos to more and more people buying those higher end panels, you guys might be ablet o make those panels drop to TN prices in the future ;)

or with a lower price Samsung 226BW

if you have more money you should check a monitor from brands like NEC or EIZO

then in Dell there are good monitors like 2007FP (this isn't wide) or 2007 WFP but they are both 20 inches... and Dell 2407 WFP HC is not recomended for games.. backlight in squares... and Dell said they are not going to solve this with a posterior revision
