Offical watch-group for Venice

what are the chances sparco will have Venice or Diego on monday? anyone got inside info or want to take a guess.

looking at monarch it appears that the 3700 is single channel memory ( 64-bit instead of 128-bit ) does anybody know this for sure?

Does your credit card get billed when you place your pre-order for most of these sites? Or does it get billed once they have them in stock?

Seems they're waiting for an answer just like the rest of us.

i'm tempted to contact ingram micro and ask if they'll distribute these processors to resellers on monday. i doubt they'll respond since i'm not a reseller. anyone here got connection with resellers?

Don't lock yourself with monarch since their shipping starts May 6th/20th.
Sparco will have them this month it seems.

Both are dual channel.

3700 + is 1mb L2 w/ 1600mhz bus
3800 + is 512 L2 w/ 2000mhz bus

I don't see any 3800+ 1mb Sand diego cores for 939.

3700+ San Diego 1MB L2 Cache w/2000MHz bus
ALL socket 939 cpus have 2000MHz bus except for the 3400+ S939

PS: the description on Monarch for the 3700+ S939 is the same descrition for the S754 it was just someone being lazy

That's right. The other difference, of course, is 2.2GHz for the San Diego 3700+, 2.4GHz for the Venice 3800+.

For those who were building a new rig, or have a dud winnie, or simply switching from Intel, the Venice probably will do it. :D

I don't think you're making a fair comparison here for a couple of reasons. First off you're comparing your 2x256 G.Skill LA to 2x512 G.Skill FF . I'd be surprised if you could get 1gb of the LA to 320FSB in your setup. Second, you're comparing your max stable overclock with your winnie vs. a "mid-level" OC from the Venice. Hey, your rig would be great if you plan on using just air-cooling and benchmarking with only the Sandra bandwidth test :rolleyes: How high can your cpu go with 1.4Vcore? Also, can it run on single phase? It's no coincidence that both Venices I brought to XS could go to 2.8G at default Vcore and had no cold bug. What you're trying to do is compare apples to oranges. Here-if you simply want to just compare Sandra scores, then I'd say my Venice @ 290 "wipes" your winnie @ 337:

You're right, it's not fair, because you were running at 2.88Ghz wherea I was at 2.70Ghz, yours has tighter timing and mine has loser timing, your's on phase-change and mine on air, you are running on Windows 2003 Server and I'm running on Windows XP, of course it's not fair! because theoritically my winnie should get "wiped", wait..I should of said get "slaughtered"!!! But I didn't see none of that happening, whether you want to admit it or not... that mighty venice that you test-drive at 320 x9 was getting worked man!! if there's any other memory bandwidth benchmarks available other than sandra and everest...I would like to see you run and I'll compare mine with yours, suicide clock that is not superpi 32m and prime95 stable need not apply because I intend to use my machine 24/7 for variety of tasks other than just a few suicide screen shots with unrealistically high OC'ed to impress other people :D

i already have and account with em but... they have real bad price/website
I really prefer to order from others suppliers (btw, available on the pricelist : venice/diego...not in stock atm :( $$$CDN)

I wodner if Monarch is just being cautious with the 4/20 ship date. Or if they actually mean it?

we will find out monday :). monarch is being cautious with the date they stated. they told me once that they rather give a date that they know for sure or close to a release. i also notice how the more expensive cpus will be available earlier, hrmm. i wish there's a way to track shipment from amd to distributors and such :).

Newegg is actling completely oblivious to venice' sandy. They hav't listed any pre-orders or ETAs, and they have lowered prices on winchesters.

i wonder what monarch thinks of the 18th as stated by sparco. i wonder if monarch will repeat and have venice/diego first again. i think they have the money to put into distributor's pockets to get the first shipment. the wait is unbearable.

I have never seen a pre-order option on Newegg , EVER ! So im guessing they are playing safe and not putting any info on their website and once Sandy and Venice get to their warehouses and the Heat starts to build up :D , they will release them with a BOOOM !! to the unsuspecting community :fact:

Newegg had a Pre-Order for the DFI LanParty SLI-DR before it was released. Don't believe the hype when companies say they don't do Pre-Orders, because it only makes business sense to offer them.
