With the 2400 you will not be able to OC. I would recommend the 2500K
On Fatal1ty download page latest driver for Marvell SATA3 controller is available:
Marvell SATA3 driver ver:1.2.0.1002

Looks exactly the same as my P67 :p: :D I still won't get a Z68 though unless there is a way to use the on-die GPU for physics, its the only thing that would make getting a Z68 worthwhile.
Oh, and whoever said it; you can OC a 2400 its just "limited" to 4 speed bins above its clock frequency.
Guys, I've just realized that my Extreme 4 AXTU fan controlling doesnt work at all, no matter what level I tried in the setting, my CPU fan speed(1+2) + chassis fan 1-3 RPM still remain unchanged. I'm using 1.5 Bios, is there any difference with BIOS setting ? I need more airflow for my case (HAF922), I've 6 fans totally, 4 connected to the mobo (Cpu and chassis).
Also, do you think the mobo fan headers provide sufficient power to those fans ? cause I think they run at quite slow speed, do I need to get a separate fan controller for higher RPM ?
I'm using latest SpeedFan beta and I can control my 2 fans (CPU 2 and chassis one).
Thx buddy, do you know anyway to add more fan controller to speedfan since it only has 3 ?
I have a feeling that some chassis fans are tied together to one speed so changing one speed will affect two (ore more) chassis fans.
I cannot try that because I don't need more fans in my case. :)
As you see I'm fanless, so I use CPU2 3 pin fan header for a case fan non-PWM just to be sure that my MB doesn't warn me about no CPU fan attached at every boot. :)
I had already bought the motherboard, havn bought the processor yet..
Hmmm.. wait , i go see whether I can squeeze in more cash into the budget to buy at least a 2500K.
anything else I need to look out for ?
but I wont be overclocking that high... at most 4ghz should be enough for me. which processor is suitable for me.. new to this kind of processor.
Anybody here experienced a debug 45 code? I can't seem to run my gskills in dual channel now. If I put them in the black ram slots the pc just hangs and displays code 45. This is after installing a venomous x but I haven't even used the pressure plates yet! What gives? :(
Does anyone know or has already tried to run an Intel Xeon E3 (for example 1230 or 1240) on an Asrock P67 mainboard??
On some H67 boards it does run but I would be interested to run it on my Extreme4....
so if u guys dont mind me asking....if someone were to build a new rig for gaming and wanted to "future proof"..is the extreme 6 worth the extra money over the extreme 4? thank you
If you only want 4GHz, the 2400 will let you have that easily.
Black DIMM slots? The Extreme boards have white and blue DIMM slots..
No idea, if you already have it, try it :D
Extreme 4 will give you everything you need. Only reason to get the Extreme 6 would be for the 2 extra SATA ports, and e-peen rights if you just want to say you have a 16-phase mobo. Do remember if you opt for the Extreme 6 you can't use a full length PCI-E card in the top PCI-E slot (which is why I went for the Extreme 4)
wow thanks...that was quick! thanks!
Hi! Have asked at other forums this and nothing have helped. When i boot up my comp it goes to bios logo screen where u can choose do u want go to bios or to windows, its open about 30sec every time and its enoying.
Have done:
-reset cmos
-bios updates
-bios settings
-usb things (all kind of)
Nothing have helped... eny ideas?
Extreme 4 + 2500k + hyperX grey 2133 + gtx 560
Thanks
Edit: Oh and when it does do that it gives code 05 on dr. debug.
Going to need more details and better English than that to get a good idea of whats happening :p:
Sry bad english^^ :P
So when i start my compurer it stays 30sec`s at this screen:
http://www.asrock.com/news/events/201102ex/IDB3-3.png
And when it stays there, on motherboard is that dr.debug light and it says codes 05 and 06.
Do u now get it? :P
I believe that he means that the post screen (where the asrock logo is showing) is on for 30secs without doing anything, right? And jiiper, was it so that when you OCed your chip, the post screen was showing only for a few seconds (as it should be)? I don't even have this board yet, so I can't help, but hopefully Ket, or somebody else, can!
Ok, with pictorial aid and a translator (eGGe86) :D you are saying the board doesn't continue to POST for 30 seconds after turning it on, right? Firstly I would advise updating the UEFI 1.6 (if it isn't already) and if it already has 1.6 update to UEFI 1.62 (see first page) also, what is your full system specs? By what I can tell, the board is taking its time detecting your optical drives and/or HDDs, so it would be worth checking all connections and if possible using different cables in case you have a SATA cable going bad or something.
