Is there a fix for this

I tried running this on Vista x64 with 8GB RAM. I have no page file. When I select "Maximum Stress" the test fails in 0.125 seconds. However, if I run "Half stress" or "Custom stress level" w/ 6GB of RAM the test will proceed as normal. Any idea why I cannot run this in "Maximum Stress" mode? Is anyone else running this without a page file?
Thanks.
That's interesting i'm curious to know if that would be a bug?
Great program guys, thanks!
One question --is this an ideal program for burn-in testing mainboards too (not just CPU/RAM), or is there an alternative I should check out?
Having the same issue right now.
Vista64Bit, Linpack only uses 50% CPU with HT on.
I can swear it was using 100% at lower CPU clocks, at about 3800 Mhz, but at 4200 Mhz it started using only 50%.
I don't recall if the CPU settings were identical though.
Any known fix/workaround ?
I still can't run "Maximum stress" but the rest looks ok.

Cool program, thanks!!
Failed the last one, needed 2.15v on the mem to pass.
Well that was depressing...I finally got my E3110 (E8400) to get through 5 passes but it required adjusting a bunch of voltages and dropping it to 3.66Ghz.
I'm starting to think I might be at least partially limited by my cooling since my CPU was bouncing off 93C even after I turned up the fan and lowered the clock speeds...I wasn't running RealTemp before when testing at 3.8 (it crashed pretty fast) so I can only assume that it was dangerously close to TJ Max. Guess I might have to finally upgrade my old Zalman CNPS9500 :D
But either way great tool, definitely a lot faster than Prime for bringing my system to it's knees.
Great stability tester. 25 loops is more than enough for everything I need :) And it takes just 30 minutes
50 loops are needed :)
I use 200 loops to make sure my CPU is absolutely stable often :) When I am sleeping, my CPU does a huge-hard-imba work :)
man waterflex i would hate to be your cpu.work work work work....... just wondering does it ever get a break?
Nope :) I noticed:
When my pc just download smth during the whole night, the room temperature is 20-21 degrees. But there is a winter in my country, -10 degrees outdoors, so I am a little cold.
So I use CPU+Termochill+Linpack to keep up my room temp at 23-24
I saw you saying that 15Loops are ok, taht is what i made to test my system.
Now i saw you too saying to test with prime95/OCCT.
Why ?
Is IBT not stressing the Ram too ?
Do i need to test my Ram with one of the mentioned programs too after passing 15 Loops ?
If yes which program must i use and what am i looking exactly ?
The Ram or NB ?
TNX
Personally I don't think 15 IBT passes is enough.
I always test mine with a minimum of 30 runs of IBT coupled with overnight passes of Prime95 small fft and blend (min 8 hours) for a 24/7 computer.
How many loops are really "OK" now?? Does IBT test RAM, too? Taskmanager shows that it is using a lot of memory, seems like it's all of my free memory!
So what's better to test stability? IBT oder P95? Or can I use OCCT?? I don't really trust P95, it often gives me errors, also if IBT and OCCT works "forever" without crashes or errors!!
IBT doesn`t stress RAM at all. Also it doesnt stress NB. IBT stresses CPU only.
If you want to test your RAM<-->NB you should use Windows MemTest 3.8. This small program stresses RAM and NB like hell. And finally, use OCCT/Prime to stress the whole system. Just let it run for 8 hours while you are sleeping.
Thanks for the program. :yepp:
I will concur with the others, this is terrifying to run though. 13c Hotter than P95 for me.
I didn't read the whole thread, so my apologies if this has already been addressed, but I do wonder about the safety of repeatedly shocking the core from 60c to 42c between tests. I goes up sooooo fast. Could this eventually lead to cracks in the die, or are CPUs simply designed to withstand this kind of torture?
You don't have to worry about those increases!! It won't hurt your CPU!!
Any news? :)
I have a small problem while launching Memtest 3.8. I launch 2 sessions when i start the test my computer starts not responding and Memtest tries to fill the swap file of the system too. I wanted to stop Memtest but there was no way to stop the 2 sessions, only a forced reboot helped.
Any suggestions ?
awesome program for overclockers who really care about stability of their system. i love it :p:
