he's (iTravis) is hitting +90c at 3.2/3.4ghz... if you think changing thermal paste, any paste you wish, is going to drop his temps 25%... well... you MUST believe stickers will make your car go faster too.
btw, synthetic oil won't make your car run faster, use what's written on your oil cap and you should be pretty close to the max your car can do.

Who manufactures cars that require synthetic oil? Guess why! My dealer even discouraged using synthetic in mine! Take another shot!

Guys, I'm now at 3.4Ghz prime stable for over 10 hours and OCCT stable as well. Core temps are still high but I can see there's a big difference compare to what I had couple days ago (b4 I apply AS 5 and reseat heatsink). They're now 85-85-82-82 at full load and 50-50-48-48 at idle with case temp is 39C and room temp is 51F.
The NB voltage is high though, I got like 58 at full load so I don't know if I should reapply thermal paste for the NB and SB as well.
Anyway, I'm gonna try 3.5 2nite and possibly 3.6, if it's stable then I'm happy with it. :)

Did you follow my settings?!... It seems that you have the same Ram as I do, so that shouldn't be a problem. Only diference is the CPU but i don't think that matters for this settings.
Strap 266 (faster timings) generaly end's at or above 400 FSB, from here on you have to use 333 Strap (relax timings) until some where around 450~475 FSB depending on your system.
Should be because 450 FSB is higher it overtakes the handcup of 333 Strap relaxed timings.
I use Everest (Read Memory/Latency benchs) to test the bandwith performance and helps me choose the best settings regarding memory bandwith.
About the Prime BSOD, you may need a little more voltage on the CPU because at 400 FSB/266 Strap you are at the max potencial of the Strap. Give it a try, it was necessary for me.
But before my QX9650, i had a Q6600 G0 and choosed the same «450 FSB/333 Strap/1200 Ram» as your sig. It's a perfect match with this board having a G0.
one thing i did to this board *i have non se* that helped was adding (zip tying) a 55mm fan to the nb... temps went from 65 *before* to 55 *after* according to temp readings from bios. sure its ugly, but it worked! stupid for me to say something this obvious but nobody else is saying anything like this except 1 person *smart guy* who used a antec spot fan
Your NB temp is not high, it's low. Mine is around 75 C loaded and 68 unloaded and is rockstable running prime 95 and 3dmark in loop for 48 hours simultanious. This is a good value compared to Intels official specs for the NB max load temps that I posted a vew pages back (were around 95 C). Just follow the link to Intel X38 thermal guide and don't listen to not qualified statements you read here which tell you over 60 C NB temp will be unstable blabla....
Always go and find out the facts from direct source and go with it than listen to speculations.

I get 45c on full load and 38 idle.
the 60c stability issue was stated as YOU MAY experience stability issues above 60c, it was also mentioned that this statement was taken from Anadantech's review of the board and it was not confirmed

I try to move up to 3.6Ghz but fail OCCT after just 1 min, don't know what went wrong since I tried every settings from the members of this forum but still unstable. :( Any ideas what should I do for 3.6?
What's the word with LOADLINE CALIBRATION? It seems to completely eliminate vDroop on my system... is it bad to leave it ENABLED? I don't see many user BIOS settings in this thread where people have it on.
Then look again, or search the thread, LC was discussed weeks ago. I enable it when ocing cpu and disable it, when not ocing cpu.
Most other guys do, too. But here was a user with problem to get system stable with LC enabled and very low OC. After switching to disable, system became stable.
hey guess what, i plug back in the stock heatsink, re-spread thermal paste, change the fan with the one from pentiumD (which spins at 2600-2800 average), and my temp dropped significantly, about 30-32C idling, now gonna test max load and see where it goes up to :)
update: orthos smallfft load --> 59C max woohooooo
I am going desperate here.No matter the settings i use i can run the pc all day for gaming and internet browsing/downloading. I can run it at 8x425 and 8x440.
But whenever i run Blend test under Prime95 at both speeds i get an error after exactly 47-48 mins.No hung ups,freezes or bsod.Just an error on one of the cores.On the third one almost always.Anyone have any idea?
I havent tried to go any further because of this problem.If anyone had a same issue plz help me out.
I had exactly the same issue. P95 error @ 47-49min using Blend test.
I had to up my vcore a few notches. For Small FFT is was stable 450x8 @ 1.32v
But for blend I had to use 1.34v to be able to pass that 47min mark.
Today I tried to disable Loadline Calibration. And now its stable 450x8 Blend @ 1.32v :)
