Yea, if you're lucky, you might get to 2.8Ghz on that chip. I have one and it would not budge past 2.7Ghz@1.45V...I got a 165 CCBBE 0610 and I'm gonna sell the 170 soon.

By the way, the 165 CCBBE 0610 is trippin me out. I can get to 2.745Ghz (304 HTTx9 1:1 RAM!! G.Skill 4400) at 1.34V...I'm thinking, whoa, this chip beats my last opteron at incredibly low V. But will not prime anything past this speed. What I do is first to a quick check by running long ftt's and SuperPi 2M at the same time.

I got this chip up to 3.006Ghz at like 1.48V, but, like I said, absolutely nothing with prime about 2.74Ghz, NO MATTER WHAT VOLTAGE. I'm stumped. And I've played with the mem dividers too. And timings. I'm pulling my hair out.:slobber:

No way man, freeze or reboot is worse than failing prime :)

I had to burn in all night to get it to fail in prime rather than hard lock.. actually it did lock overnight and while I was at school- but I come home, ran some prime and it fails instead, on both cores no less

It's actually a huge pain in the ass having it lock up, as it's impossible to find a good slightly unstable burn in speed. It's like it passes 16hr prime, 1mhz up and it locks after 5 minutes :confused:

So far I'm very impressed with my CCBBE 0610DPMW. Out of the box, cpu voltage set to auto at 2.8G. Haven't tested further. Crapp air cooling until my radiator gets here. About 3 minutes between ripping open the box and this. I know, I know, I'm stuck with this monitor for now.

I'm also impressed by the chip, but something is holding me back, I know it. I can pretty much boot and run stuff at 1.4V and less with any speed below 3.0Ghz. But it won't prime. I'm thinking maybe it's my PSU, but I don't know how to verify that. What I do know is that my smart guardian reports that my ATX +5.0V is under 5.0V. I gotta check the others. It's a dual rail rosewill 550W though....

Only way to check your PSU is with a DMM. I've switched between 2 Ultra-Ds and both give me different bogus readings. Same thing with any voltage your components get. The only way to test them is with a DMM. They are like $30 at Radioshack. Nice and accurate too. On another note, that's a big load for just a 550W PSU. On a second note, are you running your RAM 1:1??

Really? You think there's too much stuff under my hood for my PSU? I guess I'll try to pick up one of those DMM's see what happens.

I run the RAM 1:1 just at 300 HTT or under. It's fine right there(actually fine up to 304HTT, then the headaches begin). I'm gonna try the yellow slots(even though that's pretty much a dead end), try my OCZ 4000, or maybe pop the lid off of her and see if the she just like the cold temps. I do live in Los Angeles, and it's starting to get hot around here. I'm so frustrated though. I feeling like giving up on computers and starting up a gun collection.

Yah rosewill psu aint exactly quality, looks like its the weakest link in your rig.

I wouldnt even bother testing it, just get yourself a quality 500-600 watt psu.

You know this for sure?? I paid like almost 90 dollars for it, and it's kick a$$ cause of it's modular cabling. I haven't seen a soul complain about these yet, and it has a perfect rating on newegg...though newegg isn't a review site, it's nice to see decent feedback.

Would it be a good test to see how my OCing attempts go if I take everything out 'cept the bare essentials? And still, with my 170 CCBWE 0609, the system ran fine when I fed it 1.5V...I might try to borrow my friends PSU when I get the chance(650W) and see what's up. I can't just go and buy another PSU right now though, I'm strapped on dough...:slapass:

So Im working up slowly this CCB1E 0609 I got today, it priming stable at 2.6ghz and 1.31v. What do you guys think?

i have the CCB1E 0609FPAW in my sig so it might be similar. i got 2.7 @ 1.4v and 2.8 @ 1.5v. i can boot and bench 3.0 @ 1.55v, but fails prime instantly. im happy with 2.8 for now, but once i move home the pc will go in the basement so i should see some better temps and hopefully some better OCs. next year IF i go back to school, i will probably be building a custom wc kit so maybe 3.0 is in the cards :)

Just started priming 3G at 1.45v. Gonna leave it over night, but temps are killing it. LDT/Chip voltage doesn't seem to help at all, I was just fine with them at 2.8G and 2.9G w/ defaults.

Now that I have gotten my replacement ram in I am stable on my 165 6010 at 3GHz at 1.525v in bios. So far it is ~5hrs prime stable.

I am considering burning it in but I use it as my primary pc in college so I have little time to let it sit and burn. Also temps are not a problem because it never goes over 39C even with my o/c x1900xtx at full load with atitool artifact scanner. So ill probably just leave it at 1.525v

well, i think the results of the CCBWE 0609FPAW vary much more than the CCB1E 0550VPMW for instance. I've seen 2.9 on WC (1.45v), but my own doesn't even do 2.7 at 1.4v. I'm putting my hopes on the 2 CCBBE 0610DPMW's i'm getting in a short while :-)

default vcore 1.312v@2800 1/1 dvider 280@2.5-3-3-5 1T only 2.5v.. ;) stress Large FFTs.. 5 haurs.. good memory controller 0550 VPMW :D

there was a period of time when people were all getting CCB1E/CCBBE (165s), but i doubt they are still shipping them. i think the majority of people are buying them through ebay or FS forums for the good steppings.

you need 100 posts to have access to the FS/FT portion of the forums.

anyone with BB's or B1's find it incredibly hard to find your max stable? i see a lot of people with the same issues i have, it will prime fine all day all night, add 1mhz and it failed immediatly. i should be happy running 2700 @ stock vcore but i'm not :(

im gonna try if not ill just sell and try again. Hope i get it high :) but ive heard some 170,s with CCBWE 0551 arent that great. Hopefully phase wakes this thing up

if you want good chip find Opty 165 > CCB1E 0608 MPMW--- Opty 170 CCB1E 0550 VPMW ;) 170 0550 VPMW 500$ + ebay :rolleyes: ;)

prices aren't that bad. people are finally starting to learn on ebay, nobody is bidding on the CCBWE's and the CCBBE's/CCB1E's are going for around 360-375.

I got it from Monarch last week, it is a CCB1E 0609FPMW.... it was around $275 I think. Dunno what stepping they are shipping now though.

Too bad the :censored: shipping for the heatsink is taking forever, and I have yet to test it. :dammit:
