Thx man will give it a go tonite, no more energy left need some beers... Corrupted already 3 win installs. Highest bootable is 390FSB , for windows 350FSB, lol amasing
I hope this bios will at least allow me to post the mobo at 400FSB...
thx again will keep you posted...
Thinking hard. I wish i knew what the actual NB temps are under stock cooling.
All the other board manufactures are not liking gigabyte right now. Way to go gigabyte!! I will surely consider the X58 version soon.
I was at 500x9 with crazy voltages. 1.7 on MCH, PLL and VTT. I dropped to 8.5 with your voltages and gonna see whats up.
good luck with the blocks man, thanks for your effort.
So, what's the general consensus on this board? I see a lot of problems but it looks like theres a lot of happy users. Is it generally stable? I'm just looking for a solid board for a q9550.
what nugzo said.
Hello
Excuse me for my english
I must choose between Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R vs. Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P.
I´m not interested in Crossfire but I´m looking for the more stable board and P is more expensive than R (for me 50€ more) but I can pay for stability.
Is the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P more stable than Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R?
In stability what is the best? Or can we say that they are the same?
And talking about board degrees the two board are different or they have the same degrees? I have read that they are cold.
Thanks
at 4.4GHz 100% stable and climbing with my Q9550 EO 1.39vore:D
i didnt update the bios or nothing and this mobo is rock solid the only thing holding me back right now is my ram, No problems with this mobo for me
edit: at 4.5GHz i love this mobo has load of voltage setting too
If you don't need crossfire and you want to save a few bucks, there is no reason not to choose the UD3R. I have both boards and neither is more stable when it comes to overclocking than the other. I would have simply picked up another UD3R as I do not need crossfire or the HD audio, but the UD3P was actually cheaper at the time due to a sale + promo rebate.
Nugzo,
If you have Watercooling already I think it's the way to go. I'm certain that cooler is always better, why do you think ppl LN2 NB's and PWM's?
I got two ppl on the Group Purchase List this far, as soon as a group of 5 closes I will order as we can divide the shipping between 5 :yepp:!
Nice work. Would you mind posting your template for the 4.4 and/or 4.5 clocks? 518fsb 100% stable would be a nice quad template to play with. Not to mention the 530fsb for the 4.5. thanks in advance. Here is a blank template you can use.

I dont have water installed atm. A customer i sold my old rig to wanted me to remove the water cooling loop from it. So i have pa120.3 and all accesories to play with. I'm debating on installing it. I just cant get the stability i hoped for at 4.5 with air. I'm sooo close. I'm sure the water could get me 4500+. How much is that block kit again?
134 EUR for the entire kit (4 blocks), with the dollar going up on Europe that's around 179 USD today.
The problem with ordering from http://www.mips-computer.de/ was always the shipping that would add a lot to the final price because they only ship thru express mail.
So with 5 or more ppl to share the shipping will be cheap.
Does anyone know what aftermarket heatsink will work to replace the mosfet heatsink along the left side of the board? I want to strap my Thermalright HR-05 on the northbridge, but the stock heatsinks are connected by the heatpipe.
This one right?
Yeah thats its. Also make sure ur CPU cooler won't be in the way.
I think it'll fit. There's plenty of space between the current heatsink and my Xigmatek S1283. I'll just have to move the 12V cable that's dragged across my mobo a little bit.
Petra's is just a few hours away from where I am so check back on Tuesday. It should be here by then unless UPS screws up shipping.
