This board laughs at that FSB even with a quad. I've personally done 480, and 460 with full multi on my Q6600 for a full suite of benches. I could go higher I suppose, I just haven't tried it yet. It's a very solid board with no glitches or finicky BS. Just straight up overclocking.
it is a very nice board...you should enjoy it.
very nice board so far. i'd call it great if i could get the Realtek audio driver to install on my XP partition. it installed in Vista without a hitch.
has anyone else had this problem? i found a workaround on Gigabyte's site, but it didn't seem to apply to me. it said to disable Microsoft UAA in the Device Manager, but it doesn't even show up in my device manager.
i'm sitting on a fresh install of XP MCE SP2 right now. i installed all Microsoft's updates. i've installed all the Gigabyte drivers except the audio so far. i'm still showing no audio device installed. i obviously have it enabled in the BIOS. any help would be super appreciated :D
never mind. installing Service Pack 3 solved the problem. i'll leave my previous post up in case anyone in the future has the same problem. looking forward to some OC time with the board tomorrow.
does anyone in this thread have an E8400 and want to share their GTL settings with me? i'll probably be running at 445 FSB with 1.325 vCore.
Yep it's frustrating but it's happened on most recent motherboards i've had, it's not just a Gigabyte issue. for some reason the driver & the Microsoft UAA don't always work together. Your right though about SP3 , which probably points the finger a Microsoft I guess :lol;

sounds normal especially since you said updating windows solved the problem...sounds like there was a OS & software code problem...good on you for figuring that one out!:up:
does anyone know where the "motherboard" temp sensor is on this board? i've noticed my Motherboard temp goes up and down based on my video card temps (dual Radeon 4870's). raising my VGA fans to 50% yesterday lowered my Motherboard temp by 15°C. i'm guessing it is because my hot video card VRM's are right next to my SB-to-NB heatpipe.
my plan now is to try to pry off the plate on the NB heatsink that says "Silent Pipe" and put a 40mm fan on my NB to keep it cool. has anyone ever done this? how is that metal plate held on to the NB heatsink? can i pry it off or will i have to cut it?

i'm running now the X48T-DQ6 with E600 and Buffalo 4 GB DDR3-1333 (timings 9-9-9)
when i try to oc'ed, this is the most stable settings at the moment:
FSB 367 x MTP 9 x 734MHz (1:1) x 1.4000Vcore x 6:5:5:14 latencies
i'm certainly no expert, rather opposite, just getting started with it, and it is very interesting......
i have some questions:
what are the best options:
1- the highest possible FSB x MTP on 1:1
or
2-highest FSB x lowest MTP on 1:1
or
3-lowest FSB x highest MTP on 1:1
or
4-highest possible FSB x MTP on 1:1 with lower the memory latencies?
or
5-your suggestion??

Evo, those are pretty good timings. For me I'd like that but you should experiment what's best.
U H, I've never seen anything. It seems the one that would be most useful is vtt.
The Chip that says ITE is the monitor chip and is where the mobo temperature sensor is located. It is on the bottom left of the board behind the PCIe slots. This would be why you see a difference when there is a change in GFX load.Quote:

And If I were you I would just replace the stock chipset sinks with some enzotechs or something more versatile that you can mount a fan to. You won't be able to pry that plate off without wrecking the heatsink.
actually, i pried the Silent-Pipe badge off the NB heatsink without issue. it's just a thin aluminum (or possibly plastic) piece lightly glued onto the heatsink. i delicately started pulling on its four corners and it came right off. then i screwed a 40mm fan directly onto the NB heatsink, threading the screws into the radiator fins.
it works well. my MOTHERBOARD idle temps are unchanged (by much), but the temp doesn't seem to rise much with load either. i'll take a picture of it and post it in this thread when i get a chance. what i really like about the fan is that it blows directly on the two heatpipes that go from the NB to the MOSFETs. i think it does a lot to keep my mobo temps reasonable.
i removed the grey tape from my NB and replaced it with AS5 thermal paste plus a panaflo 40mm!I use the second pcie slot to keep nb and rams cool i have now 8c down at load:up:

i have tested the f6b for two months!its the best i think!better than the f5d!but needs some more quad core optimization!this mobo cant o/c quads very well!but its very good for duos!i hope to see a good f6 final soon!

Any one can help me overcloking this MB with a QX9650?? My FSB now is 400, stable with Linx, I use 2x2 Gb Corsair 1600 DDR3 ( at 1.8 v) . My Vcore es 1.30 in Bios, the MCH core is +0.200 and the FSB Overvoltage is +0.200. I can,t get stable ( Linx) at 425 FSB even with higt values of FBS or MCH, Any help will be veri welcome.
