129us$ + 100us$ for a combo like that isn`t a bad idea
You're right, I just thought that since he had a Dothan he could wait. I mean, it can't be that bad. I would never buy a PD if I had a PM (yeah they both have their cons). I'm not telling people not to buy things in general, but going from PM to PD is almost like taking a step backwards into Netburstaurus era. I say "almost" just because he'll get dual core with a PD, that's a big advantage. We all know the cons though, don't have to mention them. In the end it's all about what he want to use it for.Quote:

I checked out that page on the 805 super pi run but there werent to many p5nd2-SLI runs, im hoping for more of them b4 i upgrade.
ha, its non of that, i just like to mess around with new stuff all the time. Nothing like getting a parcel through the post early in the morning :P It wont perform as well, but like I say, simply something to mess around with
Hrm lets say we cant get this board working well, my next choice is P5WD2. Does the regular P5WD2 oc well? or must I go with Premium/ E-Premium?
AFAIK regualr P5WD2 overcloks as good as Premium.
even E-PREMIUM?
Just picked up the same combo and have had nothing but luck with it so far. Running on air ive got a Zalman CNPS9500 and Antec P180. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b246/dpgx/3dmark.jpg Ill have to play around with it more this weekend i havent really had a chance to go beyond this yet.
Looking good so far at what i guess is stock volts. Do you have a CPUZ screenie to give some more information?Quote:

Yep stock voltage this was achieved at. I ran Prime for 45 mins or so last night and it had no stability issues. Ill post up a CPU-Z screeny after work tnite, for 130 dollars this is the best processor money can buy right now imo (for anyone willing to overclock).
You mean a D 805 & P5ND2-SLI?Quote:

If you uninstall it and disable this device it remedied most of my problems. I had problems with my mouse pausing and my SLI config disabeling itself prior to this but its been great since. I did have to update the bios -- the default bios recognized it as a Pentium 4 2.66 with 2 CPU's. Im currently using 0601. Im looking foward to the weekend so I have a chance to play with it some more -- I havent touched voltage at all yet. I do want to pick up another gb of ram this weekend, would 4 modules hurt stability at all?
Hrmmm... Iv read alot of places that 4 modules diminishes some performance, im going for 2x1024mb when i get my setup. By the way whats the NOS utility?
NOs is a automatic overclocking utility, it's pretty useless if you know how to OC from the bios.Quote:

hrmm... so NOs interferes with the bios overclocking? ill remember to uninstall that when i get my setup soon times!!!
it actually has some sort of device driver for the utility which was causing the interference. Im not sure why. The utility was not even installed I overclocked via BIOS. Once uninstalling the actual driver for this utility its been completely stable.
post some screenies for all these inte/sli h8ters out there!@
Ill def post some up tonight, im looking foward to playing with it when I get home... Now that I identified my problem ill probably reformat, Every reboot it tries to reinstall the device unfortunately. After that Ill take some screenys though. Im actually pretty happy with the mobo although the northbridge does run fairly warm to the touch. Debating picking a fan up for it this weekend. Funny thing is Im running under the rated FSB speed of the board so I dont imagine im doing anything abnormal thats causing it to run a little warm. Mobo temp shoes as 30C as well so the case temp is very cool. I have to say im pretty impressed with how smoothly this all went as I expected problems from what I've read around the net. I've also seen these mobo's dont overclock well and was pleasantly surprised with the no effort 3.6ghz overclock of the 805.
