...that is NVIDIA's doing.

Yes, note it's a male plug. It's meant to be connected to the PSU.
Nice looking board.
I dont understand what all the hubbub is about with the second NIC. They are normally :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty realtek/marvell nics anyways. If you're going to be doing any work needing teamed/bonded/trunked what have you NICs you should be using a quality Intel add-on card, or to a lesser extent Broadcom.
I use it, I want it, I pay for it. Here is the other UD7 that just came out:

And i should got just one with an amazing ( and expensive ) motherboard with the most amazing architecture incoming ... ?
( & the 2 last motherboards was high ends ... )
Just Evry one repeat after me ;
I WANT ; 4 USB 3.0, 2 LAN TEAMEABLES, HD Audio, AT LEAST 2* 16x PCI-E, AND A :banana::banana::banana::banana:O STAR IN BUDDLE !!! :up:
If you don't ask for, nobody will give you, they'll give less for more higher price :shocked:
...
LAST GRAPHICS CARD I BOUGHT THERE WAS NOTHING !!!!
Even not a cable ...:shakes:
lol like i bought it bulk awesome, for an Asus 6970 ... !!!
And there is never enough USB 2.0, so if some manufacturers read that, sell us a lot of brackets in bundle ...
it's crazy to ask for bundle :rolleyes:
the board looks really nice but a few things caught my eye.
1st Gigabyte normally always ship their top end board with Dual lans... (not that it's a big deal or anything)
2nd Gigabyte has also been shipping the high end boards with way to much USB 3.0 as in every port was 3.0 now back down to 2 3.0 ports????
3rd Only one 8pin CPU power and 1 extra Sata power connection for running lots of Video cards???
Not that any of these make a huge difference in the real world. It's just interesting to see them taking out some of the "premium" features they normally use to sell the top end boards.
love the colors though. however I will wait to see the ROG board.
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7 listed on Gigabyte's website
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=3880#ov
"Smart Dual LAN
GIGABYTE Smart Dual LAN technology features intelligent LAN port auto-switching between the 2 physical Gigabit LAN chips; offering hassle free, zero downtime, high speed network connectivity."
Taken from Gigabytes product page. Does this mean that It has two lan chips with only one port or does this mean that it realy has two ports and the pics are wronge?
yea I get to take alook at one of these soon enough, looks like a sick board indeed. Finnally some attention to the AMD side
Looks like Gigabyte just copy and pasted info from one of their older motherboard's info and pasted it onto the 990FX-UD7 page, very misleading and epic fail from Gigabyte.

mine should be here soon.... we will see how it goes. I have a 1090T to start with then a bulldozer when it becomes available.
That power connector is on the OC board, and I have used it a lot, its Saturday and great for case cable managment, or just for SATA area power with SATA drive and you g\otta extra just plug it in.
sin0822: I was just tired and a bit confused, I get the cable management part. Just wondering where in the world is it Saturday..:shrug::ROTF:
i used it Saturday LOL
i can see those i/o ports getting painted black ;)
nah they will stay red, prob the whole lineup change red, because they are using either the etron tech USb 3.0 controller.
I dont know about you sick bastards, but I already have 2 usb3 devices, so this "2 usb3 ports on the back" thing just isnt flying with me. what does a brother have to do for some expansion room. buy an asrock apparently
