well done... it seem's to work ... that's nice.. i can hold my 480 wb and sell the 480 without to spank it on the 580 ....

Has enyone tested the ek-480 on the 580 now? I actually had my 480 block mounted with out the cutout lids in the PCB, and it worked fine anyway.
And if it gets a problem it can easy be modified to fit. Ofcourse the best is to buy a 580 block but i already have one ek-480 ;)
Really want those extra 10% performance so this would make my day with fresh testresults on the EK-480 block.
just tested my old EK 480 full block on 580 works a treat with no modding to! Temp are really low 2!

Interesting !
Where's the VRM temps data?
How do i find out vrm temp there not in gpu-z like on the 480! Had card running vantage for about 3hour and its been fine!
Aid64 no go just core temp!
I used a IR temp meter... temps on the back of the 580 w/ DD wb, around the VRMs was around 50-60C+.
With the OEM h/s it was 20-30C+ hotter on the same spots.
Vrm are fine just took the card off and there making contact with the waterblock! When i installed the block on the card i made sure i put 2 lots of thermal pads on the vrms! This card will do till i get a proper 580 block!
Have been using a 480GTX EK block on my 580GTX for 3days running now and no problems at all temps stay really low and thats with 1.2v to!

If the EK 480 blocks are fully compatible... what could EK possible do to change their blocks for the 580 other than branding "580GTX" on the block?
Easy $$$

Also thanks for testing it when everyone magically assumed it wouldnt work..
some thing have changed. Memory moved a lil bit and there is nes hole next to the VRMs.
If there isn't already a similar thread about this...then maybe a EK rep can hop on in this thread and enlighten all of us.
Change fully to for the most part...
EK 480 block uses PCB hole to mount for VRM contact, 580 = no hole, block may bend the card and may not contact VRM's
Memory on 580 also shifted on the right side up about half an IC, you will get contact but only have of the IC...if you use a thick thermal pad that shouldn't be an issue.
Just ordered 2 FC580 nickel/plexi from Frozen :)
