Crossfire Ability? Regular S1366 holes/mounting or no? Contacted uber SetFSB guy yet with the pll? :D You know I'm just as excited as you to see results, I just wish I could have the actual hardware infront of me. :p:

been on the phone and solution is coming..
When in doubt, call Petra's..
nice thanks mm
if not better i7 than this is my next upgrade
Look at my avatar, look at the socket at bottom left..
Picture a true on it vertical, bang, nails the mid tray in the V2000..
Look at socket at mid right, picture TRUE on it vertical, covers first PCI-E X16 slot..
That's just for starters and don't say to mount vertical as that absolutely kills the air flow..
Has anyone thrown Dunnington at it? I've been itching to get that 24 CPU monster machine folding or doing something.
Don't know the board off hand, it's a SM though, looks identical to your pics. We are seeing some strange and horrible latency with our primary app compared to dual X5472.
The only benchmar I've seen, the SAP, showed a dual Nehalem JUST a tad slower than a 24 core dunnington.
Really? Now that surprises the hell out of me.
Makes me wonder what app, memory and cpu's are in your Gainestown,
I have a SM X7DWA-N here with 2-X5470's and it is fast, running at 3600, but the benchmarks for the Gainestown should kill it.
Yea, but we don't know if SetFSB will work yet.
There are 2 PLL controllers on the board, or at least 2 ICS chips and one, the main one that is in SetFSB connects to the second.
According to what I've read the type of memory is all up to the board manufacturer.
As the first post here showed, that guy tried regular DDR3-2000 and it worked BUT at 1333 speed..
If I'd known that I wouldn't have bought ECC Registered mem..
YAY MM! Can't wait to see some pics and #'s
I've got a bank account hidden from the wife slowly building up steam for some of this action.
performance will really depend on applications, the ones you are looking for yes all your x5470 benches will be crunched by the new gainestown you are building. looking at your price tag it looks to me like you have the x5570 or x5580 in your system, nice i only have the e5520 ones, enough for daily things, but no real wr performance crunching parts.
