I just unpacked the rest of the stuff to take the photos for the review and I think I just noticed something weird.
There are two worm drive clamps ( to secure the tubing on the waterblock ) and they seem to be too big for small diameter tubing.
But on the other side I measured the diameter of the fittings and they're not 1/2".

I'll ask Saaya to check it out.

Blood Rage arrived today, I am considering ripping out the 32M for Christmas on it.

@Bench just go buy some hose clamps for home depot for 30 cents my buddy gets them from work for free I have a ton somewhere

Memory and CPU is clocking higher than before for me, so that 32M will be fast, if you can get everything working like they should.

Review on Hexus puts a release date in January and if my conversions are correct, close to $420 for the board. Also, they state the 3 year warranty starts from the day it is shipped to the distributor, which I find ridiculous ifit is true.

I emailed Saaya already in regard to the QF Panel. According to the Foxconn website, the QF Panel is made for the Bloodrage but no pictures of it on or release date and prices. I'm just hoping they stick with the red and black theme with the display and not something stupid like the greenish blue you see normally.

If the multiples play nice, I should upwards of 5.7Ghz for 32M

Haha.. Well just use 29x197 settings and you are fine. I had some problems with high multipliers, but it doesn't matter much with my cpu's.

I also want to see how your memory clock on this board. That should be crazy too.

well i don't even blame the board manufacturers. (although asus has been a little shameless over the last years)

i guess the X58 chipset and SLI License make up a great part of the boards price. and on top of that it even comes with a water block and a pot. so yeah, considering it's an X58 board, it's not a bad deal. but it's still a hundred bucks more than a decent x48 board which even comes with an onboard memory controller! think about it! :D

As far as i know most i7 are limited by QPI then overall CPU speed, so more cooling on the NB is more effective then on the CPU.

Yes, the northbridge waterblock is 1/2" barbs and 100% copper. :up:

yeah we got the same mem that only booted with 2050 on R2E to boot with 2300 on BR, same settings :D

im looking forward to the new elpida stuff, those chips seem to clock amazingly high with low vdimm :D

the price is going to be around 300$/300e and the board does support tri sli, but at least one of the cards needs to be watercooled so they can fit.
There are very few people who run tri sli, and those who do, will run quad sli with dual gtx295 cards anyways ;)
Dual GTX280 cards in sli, yeah baby! :banana:

and other than tri sli optimized boards, there will actually be a free slot between both cards so they can actually breathe in some fresh air ;)

i havent seen anybody go nuts for it yet, and theres quite a difference as on BloodRage its the default option and you can change it, while on 780 780 790 boards you are stuck with this basic heatsink and cant change it :D

the nb is covered by a copper base, which is connected to the cpu pwm with 2 heatpipes and to the sb with a third heatpipe. so whatever heatsink you put on the chipset, its going to cool the cpu pwm, nb AND sb :)

with the default config the cpu pwm heatsink actually helps to cool the nb and sb, since the cpu pwm is very efficient and doesnt produce a lot of heat. But when you watercool the nb then the waterblock will effectively cool the cpu pwm, the nb AND the sb :D

depends what you want to do... for ln2 you NEED the 965 for the high multipliers... for air and water the 920 is enough id say... :)

especially since BloodRage has an option for force turbo mode to always on, so you efficiently have the 21 cpu multiplier all the time on the 920 :D

those numbers are from the top of the barbs, the barb walls get way thicker down in a zick zack style.

inner is always 9mm
outter diameter is 11mm at the top and then goes to 13mm, then 11mm again and 13mm again etc :)

and there are metal screw-rings bundled so clamping down the tubing if its slightly bigger wont be a problem :D

no, you can use the award winflash tool, which is what im always using :D

or you use awardflash, just create a bootable usb stick (i posted a guide in the foxconn tweak section here on xs, takes only 2mins) and then put the bios file, awardflash and the autoexec.bat file you get with the bios on the usb stick, boot from usb and the bios gets updated automatically... dont have to type any commands...

or you do the same with a bootable floppy, just put all 3 files on there, boot from the floppy and it updates the bios all by itself :)

im ma bit confused what all the fuzz about the barbs is? :D they are 1/2" , just not at the top, that way you can push the tubing over it easily. The internal diameter is slightly less than 10mm, which is more than enough to not restrict the flow, and if anybody uses bigger tubing, he can use the fittings to clamp it on the barbs anyways.

The only problem i can see if that tiny tubing wont be able to stretch enough to fit on the barbs, but that would have to be really small tubing... and we didnt think anybody would use small tubing on a high end board... :D
even then, you can get a step down adapter for 2$ in any DIY shop... :)

thats the uk price man, compare it to other uk prices and not rest of europe or even us or asia prices :)

dont know about the warranty, but to be honest... does it matter?
i never had a problem with a board dying or getting damaged if it ran fine for 3 years. trust me, in 4 or even more years you wouldnt want an x58 board anymore anyways even if you could still get it replaced... :D

sorry, its not red... its blue, not greenish blue tho. 1400 pixel blue led display and it looks very nice... i think red would look better, but it was too late to change that, oc panel was originally made for avenger but then, guess what, china delayed everything :P

are you using an ati vga?
we noticed a very very weird bug, not only on our but on every board... as soon as you use an ati 4000 series vga, driver installed or not, superpi doesnt run stable... plug in an nvidia vga and it works fine...

any ideas? could anybody find a fix?
i googled for it and found more people who found this problem but nobody ever found a fix? but there ARE people who can run superpi stable with ati 4000 series cards, right? there must be... :D

why watercool the cpu when the TRUE does the same?

the nb temperature is meassured on the back of the IOH!
keep that in mind when you check and compare chipset temperatures :)
