no :( got the mem´s stable @960mhz@4-4-4-12@2.14V
and the processor @1333FSBx9@1.50V=3.0gz above that its useless :(i cant get it above that stable most times dont boot it stays frozen in ROG logo in beggining and when it boots and enters windows it get frozen mean while -.-
i even pushed it to 1.60V on the cpu and nothing :(
I think there is a problem with the heatpipes on this mobo.
Check them if you please.
They do not transfer any heat away from the chipset.
I believe ASUS destroyed the inner layer by queezing the heatpipes to shape them.
We either have to change the heatpipes or use strong and noisy fans to cool the chipset.
Water cooling on the southbridge is almost impossible.
There are only three holes on the mobo to hold a waterblock and the shape of both NF200 and NF570 is irregular.
The best solution I believe to cool this chipset is to change the heatpipes and use a waterblock for the northbridge.
Hi again (: tryed the 1001beta bios and yes it is a lot stable that the 0902 bios its runing @3.389mhz atm cant raise it more windows crash all the time!
tks for the help elmor :P :D and i had 2 get back to the AUTO option in the NB voltage cause afther some time of playing Crysis.. the computer just turned off and i thinked to my self ... OK Computer died :O ... when i turned it on again a msg apeared NB temp .... what it was ? the temp of NB reached 90º and the system turned of -.- so yes the NB need Whatercolling badly and or 120cm fan blowing air directly into it -.- the SB doesnt get to the NB temps not even close!
Elmor,
I am getting file is corrupt error using winrar with youyr download of the 1001 bios? can you check please.
Ooops all good now, loaded 1001 on QX9650 running FSB @ 1700 x 10 no problems so far.
Thanks

Scroll down to post #7, will that fit the striker ii ?
Didn't take any shots of the board before installation. Using Alphacool on the chip and regulators. DangerDen on the North and Southbridges all using 3/8" tubing. Simonk's system is the same but he has DangerDen coolers on his 8800GTX's as well. I'm still waiting on a waterblock to suit the Gainward 8800 GT 1024 cards

hi guys i have a question that some might be able to awnser 100%sure
Does Striker II Formula support this mem´s ?
http://ec.transcendusa.com/product/p...B+%28aXeRAM%29
w8ing for a reply ty in advance (: currently have the crosair cl4 @ 800mhz(stock) or is there a bether option in mem´s price/preformance besides the ones in link ?
There is a sleep problem with Striker II Formula.
After restoring from sleep the onboard Nvidia lan ports are not recognized.
I think there is a port recognition problem anyway.
I cannot always predict which port is going to work after I turn off the PSU power.
In case I enable the LCD poster backlight the problem gets worse.
After turning off the power on the PSU and on again the PC does not boot at all because of a power overload.
I have to press the clear CMOS button in this case.
This happens with Vista 32 and 64 bit SP1 or not on four PCs with this mobo.
I suppose this is a BIOS problem.
It is being discussed at Asus forum since feb 17th... I kinda regret getting S2F...
I mean how can they sell buggy hardware?! The BIOS is very raw and needs lots and lots of work... grrr...
Marios do u think that S2F will work or recognise or whatever whit that Mem´s ive posted ?
Transcend DC Kit 2GB DDR2 AXERAM PC2-9600 @1200mhz planing to get them but i totaly dont know but since you and WeStSiDePLaYa r using similar Mem´s i think its ok but ill w8 for ur replys!
btw in _MOBO box it says:.
*DDr2 1200 is O.C. speeds.
what do they mean by that ? and yes ocnoobmeister here (: !
The mobo is very good.
Lan recognition is the only problem I have.
In case we enable WOL, only one lan works and after S3 the lans have problems either in auto or in manual setting the ip address.
I did all sort of tests with the latest 902 BIOS but nothing helped.
The workaround I found is to change all power settings to hibernate instead of S3.
This way everything is kept on the hard disk instead of the ram and the lan problems go away.
Though we need to disable the LCD poster backlight anyway.
looks Like Vista Problem...
Windows Vista computers that come equipped with more than 4 GB of system memory have limited shut-down options. Essentially, the Hibernate option is no longer available on Vista machines that feature in excess of 4 GB of RAM. This scenario affects both the 32-bit and the 64-bit editions of Vista, but at the same time also Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Microsoft has confirmed that the issue is related to the large quantity of random access memory.
"This issue occurs because hibernation is disabled on computers that have more than 4 GB of RAM. Hibernation requires sufficient disk space to contain the contents of the computer's memory. Performance is poor on a computer that has more than 4 GB of memory and that has support for hibernation. Therefore, Microsoft has disabled support for hibernation on such computers," the Redmond company revealed.
No no, it was Asus...
But it's all fixed now with BIOS 1101.
And I'm a happy again since I was able to OC QX9650 to 4.55GHz on air...
But wait until I lap both the IHS and TRUE, I'm sure I can get 4.7 on air. :D
Reached a max of 4.7GHz on air when did lapping of both cpu and TRUE
Even though 1101 bios fixed the S3 problem, there are other problems now. For example, every time I save the BIOS or turn off the PSU while overclocked, I get ugly sounds coming from the IDE DVDs.
I think (not sure though) the BIOS does not save some overclocked settings like FSB under 1200 or refuses to boot. I didn't bother to double check those bugs.
Whats a safe temp to OC Ram to?
I've found my 3DMark numbers increase greatly when i run 4-4-4-12 over 5-5-5-15.
I'vbe been testing this board and timings. So far I have got the CPU to 3.95 with no problems.
I will soon post a chart of all my settings.
Hor$eman i saw your 3dmark06 score and i was like OMG! lol
