Not yet... :D We'll see if I need it. The lower radiator will be covered/protected by the bottom bezel, which acts as a intake plenum and is filtered. After it's up and running, I can easily determine how restrictive the filter will be. I'm hoping it works well so the system can benefit from less dust buildup. :yepp:Quote:

Hey emu - thanks for the idea. That sounds like it would have worked well, but I've already shortened it another 2", which seems to have it fixed now. If I envision what you described, it really probably would have been the better option. I just finished zipping down all the tubes, so I'm just gonna leave it as is...Quote:

You'll have to let us know what the temps are like with that setup! I have almost the same HW (except no 240Rad, cosmos and no NB chipset cooler). So I am wondering how well it cools in one loop as opposed to two.

I've finished up most of the wiring. The top port/control panel needs to go back on, which has a crapload of wiring itself. That'll probably slop up the nice wire management job I've done so far. Once that's installed, I have a couple pieces of bling to add (lighting), then it's time for all the plastic. Following that, the loop will be filled, bled and leak tested for 24 hrs. I plan to have the loop filled tomorrow! :rocker:
Now it's time for bed... Zzzzzzzzz :yawn2:

Small update in post #2, dated 2/01/08...
I did up a good chunk of the wiring and completed the tubing install last night. Later today I'll be finishing up the wiring (have to add the top port/control panel), and I plan to get all the plastic and bars reinstalled, then fill the loop and start the leak test. Keeping my fingers crossed that the bleeding isn't too challenging. My last two builds used T-lines, so hopefully it's no worse than they were.
Nice job so far on the wiring job....very nice.
Another update today in post #3, dated 2/01/08...
Finished the wiring, reinstalled the panels and bars, and filled the loop. Added some lighting too...
This will be the last update for a couple days while it bleeds. I have a couple other things to do before I can think about posting performance numbers.

OK, finally getting around to posting some results. I really just finished it up and did some testing late last week.
Using the latest beta BIOS for the IP35 Pro, my Wolfdale is running 4GHz (8x500) pretty effortlessly. I think I could push for another 200MHz or so, but it just doesn't seem worth it. This chip isn't the best out there...it takes 1.37v loaded to keep it fully stable (Prime). I spent less than 20 minutes setting up this OC - seems too easy.
CPU: 4GHz @ 1.37v loaded
NB: 500MHz @ 1.41v
GPU: Stock clock G80 GTS, no volt mod
Pump: D5 vario, setting 5 (est. ~1.08GPM)
Ambient: 23C
Fans: ~7v, est. 1000RPM
Full load core temps with Prime small FFT: 58C
Full load PWM temp: 53C
(PWM idles around 43C - my homebrew heatsink seems to work well).
Not sure what to trust - Core Temp states the TjMax at 105C, but some testing results presented by unclewebb here and a follow up post here indicate the real number to be 95C. unlcewebb has commented that the DTS are only accurate in the 35C range running up to TjMax, so anything under 60C can be off... I suppose it's possible my peak load temp is closer to 50C, but I'm happy if Core Temp is accurate. The system is relatively quiet with the fans at 7V.

Very nice - how is the pump's performance in that configuration?
Flow seems very good, so without having the means to measure it, I'm guessing it's not impacted much, if at all. During the bleed of the loop, the return line from the NB block was churning the water quite a bit inside the res (still is, just isn't as visible without air in the loop)...which leads me to believe the restrictions and the pump orientation aren't causing flow problems.
On a side note, the system was fully bled within ~6 hours of run time. I like having the res instead of a T-line.

I picked up a Q6600 G0 which isn't exactly a gem. It needs 1.5V loaded to run 3.6GHz. Needless to say, it is a power hog, but the loop seems to handle it without trouble. Peak temps with all 4 cores loaded with Prime95 were 62-65C across the 4 cores. That's with a fresh application of AS5, so it could get better with break-in. The problem with the system is that my homebrew mosfet heatsink can't keep up. With the fans at 7v, it was up to 83C(!). Cranking the fans to 12v dropped it to 72C. I could obviously active cool that with a small fan (and I might). In comparison, the Wolfdale at 4.0GHz had the PWM temp at 53C full load - that's a hell of a difference in power. :eek:
Of note is that running all the fans at full speed only dropped the core temps 1C...
