I can't get my CCC to show higher frequencies for the OC sliders for my 760/936 bios@1.33v. I missed something in the manual. :confused:
Any Idea?

So, is there a 3850 512mb bios that doesn't have a clock limit? I looked around but can't seem to find a definite answer
i tried winflash and it does not work, it says VBIOS cannot be found.
ok this is my third post in a row. i managed to flash the bios. before the flash i had stable 750/1000 now i have stable 800/1000. Thats a 50 mhz more. i am running a hd 3850 256 mb with 80% fan speed. my temp is 70 C under load. This is a good bios but the ati CCC overdrive does not function with this so you have to use rivatuner to overclock
Os how do you get a stable 880 mhz on the core clock?

Thank you for your hard work. I'm a bit confused though, is the HIS BIOS you posted above from a HIS IceQ Turbo 512 MB card (default 720 mhz GPU) set to 1.33V and what speed? I'm receiving that exact card today and would love to flash it with the highest voltage possible nowadays (1.33V?).

I hard volt-modded with a Variable Resistor, set the voltage to 1.4v (max that doesn't give me critical temperature) and fan at 60% all the time, and indeed, CCC doesn't work if i go over the limit inside it, that's 770.
It's at 760 core and 1.33v, this is the highest voltage i can get software based. :)
I dont quite get that....I compared 2 working yet different bios's and they didnt have anything different in their "connect power cord" section...
Are they talking about the only 2 zeros in the first part of that section?
if thats the case then....what if the difference of checksums is > than 3 hex characters....which mine were...where do I put them?

Before the bios flash I could manage a stable 800 MHz GPU @ 51-52 degrees with the IceQ fan at 100% and 1026 MHz memory. Now I can run at 823 MHz GPU @ 54-55 degrees and again 1026 mem. A 23 MHz gain for about 0.1V... not that great imo - needs more juice. I'm also a bit surprised that the memory has toped out at a relatively low 1026, I'll eventually check what kind of ram chips they are. So far it's a great card for 199$ CAD. :D
i seem to have 1.35vgpu default with my club3d 3850 512mb... if anybody wants the bios lmk :)
If you open the HxDen program i posted before, you'll find a menu called Analyze, then there's a Checksum window, if you open it and choose 16, then press ok, you'll get a checksum number at the bottom of the screen for this file (do it on YOUR default BIOS BEFORE changing anything).
Mine gives me A400, then i changed the frequency, and redid the checksum thing, so it gave me A600, now open up the windows Calculator, switch to Scientific, then Hex, put in A600 then subtract A400, you'll get 200, that's what you want to subtract from the file anywhere.
As you don't want to mess the file up, so you'll just goto the only part you're sure 100% is trash (the connect your cable part, only words on the screen when used), and start overwriting it a bit by bit, put 00 at the beginning of it, then recalculate the checksum, and so on until you get a number close to A400 again, let's say after some 00 replacements you got A3D4, then subtract it from A400, you'll get 2C, replace one of the 00 you put in with 2C, voila, your correct checksum.
As usual, my tutorial sucks, and is long for no reason, but works :P, i re-flashed my BIOS without the -f parameter, and it worked.

I heard that Qimonda are burning out at higher than 2000, is that true, i'm not sure if yours are that brand or Samsung, but better check it out, or just keep it at 2000 for now.

Hey guys, I have an HIS 3870 Iceq3 turboX 512mb version that clocks at 735/980 default. It's a beautiful blue card that matches my UV purple computer.. hated that red ATi color since it was the only thing that didnt go with it.
Sometimes it locks up with a white screen in 2-D mode, so I have to keep it overclocked in 3-D mode all the time via Rivatuner to prevent switching between 2-D and 3-D low performance. Even when overclocking is disabled, it still crashes once a day when doing intensive 2-D tasks like scrolling down this page or moving a window around. When I do that, it actually uses up to 50% of the GPU as shown in CCC and Rivatuner, and the card instantly clocks up to 3D low perf. mode for a second or two and then switches back to 300MHz idle mode. The switching could happen quite frequently back and forth.. that never happened with my X1900XTX (it would stay in 2D mode unless I fired up a 3-D application). I guess ATI is trying harder to push low-power consumption in 2-D... Perhaps the 2-D voltage is too low or the voltage ripple changes from frequent switching goes too high or too low?
Anyway, I can overclock it to 755 core/ 1040 memory while it's absolutely stable in all 3-D applications. There aren't any ATItool artifacts until I go up to 800/1050 but it crashes in games like Quake3 with Vsync disabled and bringing down the console command (by pressing ~). I think that this method (Q3A console) is the quickest way to test your GPU stability since it was best at finding GPU errors on all of my previous video cards (6800Ultra, X800XT, etc..). Strangely, ATI's own CCC overdrive auto o/c tool pushes my card all the way to 860 Mhz before it artifacts all over the screen... USELESS!!!
If you guys want my TurboX 735/980 Bios, I'd be happy to upload it here. I'll do that anyway because I do not know how to edit the BIOS voltage and would love to be able to overclock it higher than 750 core.
No problem Jimmy, sorry about that mistake, sometimes i set frequency at a lower rate cause i miss a zero when i write it in my calculator, but i never set it higher don't worry (too sure because of the Checksum, will be too high if i set the frequency too high, though i should have suspected when the checksum was so low :rolleyes: :down: :p:)

It's default at 735/1960 and I do not know the voltages... I have a multimeter but it's too far inside of my case for me to measure without shorting something on my motherboard or getting all tangled up in the wires.
Well, could somebody pleeeeeeeeeease mod the voltages in this bios so that it's 1.327v (also with higher 2-D idle voltage same as HD3870)? thanks a million and i cant wait!!!
Saaya have you created a new bios for your 3850 512mb card? I tried this but Im not very familiar with this kinda stuff and time to get it right is short for me, dang. Someone that has a good bios for OCing a 3850 512 mb card please post. I have one now that allows 760/1850. I need a bios to OC in CF I can use riva for one card and get great results but it wont work for CF.

The highest voldage that can get software based is 1.29V. Make a test, set the vcore to 1.29 and you will see no difference in the overclock betwen 1.33V.
Which resistor did you mod for higher voltage?
I put 0,974V in 2D Idle for lower temp. Lower values than that, gives more voltage.

I hard volt-modded to get past 800, not using a volt-modded BIOS!
EDIT: stroke, i fixed the checksum for you, check if it will work, the checksum is for the 256 version, but i noticed that even if you set it for 3870 it will still work, as long as it's a known card it seems!
