I read maze4 will fit, I am going to try that myself.
which card did you get capftp?
msb, yeah theese cards are really sweet huh? :D
did you check what mem your card uses?
i guess its only hynix mem? do you get artifacts above 925?
Btw, i noticed that the shader/fur test from o-zone which is pretty much like the one from ati tool, runs artifact free up to 1070 on my card, but i get artifacts in far cry at 1050 already, so id recommend to play 5-10mins far cry and look out for artifacts (the difficult part here is playing far cry for only 5-10 mins  ) on my card the artifacts show as textures on weapons and enemies flashing and showing weird colors and at higher speeds i am getting white or black boxes popping up and dissapearing quickly, around 3x3mm on average in size on my 19" widescreen 1440x900 res.
2 people asked me what the mounting holes on this cards are.
well, on the powercolor club3d and gecube cards the mounting holes are def identical to the ones on my 1950pro. so the holes are the same as on the 1900 series cards. afaik the reference design also uses the same mounting holes, so all waterblocks should fit :)
anybody seen any results with the asus cards?
Mine's a Sapphire, will check the mem tomorrow when I add the waterblock.
Saaya, how can check mem without taking heatsink off?
arrived yesterday.
it's club3d 3850 512Mb overclocked...
it's this one

thnx for your ansswer....i also checked with my waterblock manufacturer and he answered me that ATI didn't change the design of the fixing holes..
dont think thats possible... well maybe theres something about this in the bios... some hint or note what chips are used... not sure how to find it in case it exists. the metal plate on the mem on my card is glued with a stick tape, but after heating it up with a hairdryer i could slowly pull it off bit by bit.
same as mine!!! you will LOVE it trust me :D
THe mem on this card is awesome!
Let me know how far you can go! :D
Hmm Sapphire using different mem..

Maze4 fit fine, testing now..
quimonda... i think it will max out between 950 and 1000, not bad either considering stock 3850 mem clocks are 830 :D
but the samsung def clocks higher... as always :D
sure saaya.....since now I just installed on the mobo (DFI X38) for a review....and they run stock speed...all I have to say they're really cool....about 30-32 deg @ idle after a 3dmark....stock cooling....
will go for water cooling later
Tonight I'll check frequency for a small clock-session
is it right if I use the automatic test inside CCC to determine max freq. ?
hey capftp, i wouldnt use overdrive at all!
some people said that after enabling overdrive they couldnt overclock the card in rivatuner or atitool anymore iirc. And in the ati control panel the clockspeed is limited anyways, you cant clock as high as with rivatuner and atitool.
i get around 50-60 under load but thats oced and with a nice and cosy 24 degrees roomtemp :D
Hi Troops...
i cant get mines to clock at all....get crazy insta blocks and :banana::banana::banana: then it goes ape on me...i take it if overdrives disabled and i use atitool or rivatuner im sorted...also...did we find a good unlocked bios for me to try...(2 x powercolor hd3850 256mb)
Cheers
Gordy! :D
well, you can try evas bios. its posted earlier in this thread afaik, and also in his thread in the 3dteam section.
it gave somebody here a slight gpu boost, maybe slightly higher vgpu? besides that i havent seen a bios for 3850 512mb cards that have the 860mhz fix and offer higher vgpu or anything :(
I hope the stilt has some time during the holidays to maybe have a look at evas bios cause it seems to work on all or almost all non ref design 3850 512mb cards.
atitool doesnt work AT ALL for me... it freezes instantly when it loads
afaik there will be a version to enable more vgpu but its not out yet...
i hope w1zzard has some time during the holidays as well to have a look at this :D hehehe
crazy how we depend on enthusiasts because ati doesnt get things right :/ too bad...
for mem ocing i recommend atitool or the fur test from ozone3d, which is essentially the same. they will show artifacts very notably as white or black blocks. once you find the max stable mem speed reduce 20-30mhz and it should be 100% artifact free even in far cry.
you have the 256mb cards...
for those there are several bioses already, some with increased vgpu, increase gpu and mem clocks and a 860mhz+ gpu fix :D
try this bios for example:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=169778&page=2
yeah, would be a nice christmas gift eh? :D
come on roger, we´ve all been good guys
oh btw eldonko, whats the max you can get with that quimonda mem?
is it 1.0ns mem? if yes then it should do 1000+
had some test tonight...having both cards installed but Crossfire disabled.1st card is gonna work at about 800/1040.....mhz +-
just tested with atitool and some 3dmark01 session....
seems not bad for GPU, quite low for mem...
unfortunately ati tool recognizes second card, but if you set GPU @....some frequency, then after yuo press apply or ok, ti automatically gets back to his default....
:( :(
im sure you will notice for crysis and other demanding games you cant run 800 gpu :D
what happens at memclocks above 1040? you gt artifacts? in 2k1?
well rivatuner works fine for me so why should i fight with atitool to get it working? :D ill wait for the beta that enables vgpu adjustments :D
hello peeps, i got a sapphire 3850 512mb and gpuz says
bios version: VER010.071.000.000.000000
which i think it's 'unlocked'
so if somebody wants it i can upload it:)
i don't know what mem chips are on it tho, haven't removed the hs yet
