Seeing how I just lost my IP35 Pro this board is looking pretty nice but I have questions about Vdroop and the PWM temps, my IP35 Pro was a great board but if this board performs just as well with little Vdroop and no PWM heat problems I might go this route.
PWM temps are not bad at all. I have most of mine RAM sinked with MC14s, and they're not very warm at all to the touch. The NB, however, does get warm and needs either a fan or an aftermarket replacement.Quote:

Please mind your words. :shakes: I didn't insult you, I just told you that you can't talk about Vdroop when you only have one voltage reading for idle volts. VDroop is just a function of current draw under load, so a measurement in idle has absolutely no meaning for vdroop. OK, my initial posting wasn't meant to sound rude either. The problem is just that talking about Vdroop while only having measured an idle voltage is indeed useless. That is no matter of choosing the right vocabulary and no question of tact. Fact is that you judged Vdroop while admittedly not having measurements to compare the actual idle AND load VCore, to be able to really tell if VDroop is potentially high or low on that board. ;) That's what I'm talking about. It sounded like pure assumption. Many people talk about VDroop (you could insert many more terms here instead of VDroop) without even knowing what they are really talking about.Quote:

BTW, could you perhaps set your VCore a tad higher, to maybe around 1.5V or something in that region and then measure again? That would be great. I'd really like to see what VDroop would be like then.

I have noticed that it depends on the CPU used. We have 3 pieces and none of them makes any noises. But I saw one P965 that squaked with X6800 pushed to the limit but it didn't squeaked at all with an E6600....Little bit weird if you ask me :)Quote:

I want this board with a Q6600 and 4GB of some DDR800 so badly. It looks yummy. Even with newegg's slightly inflated prices ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136038 ) its still price/performance option from what I have read. :D

Andre, what RAM did you use for the quad core test?
Is it the same RAM that you used for the dual core tests?
If it was, what was the brand? Your post states NEXS, I'm not familiar with that brand in the US.
What IC's did your RAM use?
and, have you had a chance to try different RAM types with this board? Does this board perform better with certain RAM chips?

It's currently screaming at me, this horrific electronic squeal. Never heard a board do this before, but it doesn't sound like one of my fans having trouble. It makes the squeal for about 2 minutes, then silence for a 2 minutes, then repeat the pattern. I didn't hear it at stock values or under normal usage; this is 500x7 1.52Vcore (BIOS voltage) with Orthos.Quote:
