Might as well wait for DDR4. Thing change too fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
:slash: Yeah indeed..been planning my new rig for 7 or 8 months now,and evrytime when i was ready to bite the bullet something new came around(8800gtx,price-cuts C2D,2900xt...).I'm willing to spend around 2300 euro's for a new rig(without monitor etc),and because i don't spend evry dime on my machine i want the best bang for the buck...but the longer i wait, the more i get confused:slapass:
I canīt wait for the results to come :D
My DS3 will probably be retired, it was a good companion... :)
i must know how much performance boost brings the DDR3 so i will know what i'm going to do with my 2x1gb DDR2 Crucial Ballistix DDR1000.(stay with P35 or go directly to X38).if initial DDR3 performance sucks,i will stick with my DDR2.
Whats the release date that they are aiming for with these? I was gonna get a ds3 and a e6600 but with these coming out soon im tempted to get some DDR2 and the 6600 and which ever version of the new mobo is best on release. Im still stuck on this old school 939 x2 with ddr and im itchign for something new.
I think a lot of people are overlooking that "Made In China" in the corner over there.
From what I've seen all the striker extreme's made in china can't even hit 400mhz fsb...
Also this heatpipe crap really doesn't work very well. The nb on my striker is still boiling with that heatpipe on.
Many people have resorted 2 cutting the heatpipes and just getting some hr-05's.
If you just look at it logically it makes no sense. As everyone knows heat travels up. Also the SB is most likely the coolest part in that whole heat pipe loop. Why would you want heat going from a boiling NB to an already hot mosfet?
So this definitely means now is not a good time to make the jump to the Conroe bandwagon... Damitt
Would sure be nice if Asus found a way to adapt the X38 to DDR2...
thanks for sharing.. :)
nice pics.. :)
Hurray! More useless heatpipes! And why in DDR3's name P5K has less heatpipes than P5K3? isn't that pure marketing (look at Striker vs P5N32-E)?
Just like in the MSI offering, useless heatpipes as mentioned a few times now, could have spent the money on improving the power supply section of the CPU/Memory even more than all this useless copper heatpipe gimmick!
Subscribed.
caps cost down.
Typical Asus Style :(
[QUOTE=AndreYang;2151457]The performance is still under NDA, so I just share some pics for everyone.
Yellow Memory Dimm is DDR2.
Orange Memory Dimm is DDR3.
DDR3 P5K3 Deluxe pics.

nice pics..a Nikon D50 on a tripod?
Wow wehre the cool asus light that the p5b deluxes had ?
Yea asus take that
What the?
That board doesnt even have a buzzer on it?
The retail will have one I hope Andre, if not what a jip. ;)
Let me guess, Nvidia will STILL shove an inferior chipset down SLI users' throats.
Well, yeah, sheesh......
Then they will make the newer drivers still "unhackible" for any other chipset...
Mmm, loving the legacy-free I/O panel. I'm glad they're finally eschewing redundant PS/2 ports, LPT ports, and so forth. Everything's gone USB/Firewire/eSATA anyway.
